Rumor: Retro Studios New game for WiiU using new engine

I would be crushed. I want a new DKC really badly, especially after how good Tropical Freeze was.
 
Please be metroid (was very obvious). Maybe they are behind the Starfox game?

When was it that Miyamoto said they could be working on two projects at the same time?

Retro is effectively American-EAD, why would this be a surprise to anyone? Ninjas are in full effect when it comes to internal studios. Retro keeps stuff a secret very, very well. Just look at how they handled Prime 1. No one had any idea what was going on until the moment of the reveal.

Rather have a new IP than more Metroid.
 
Retro games have pretty much consistently been three years apart with TF being something like 3 and a half years after DKCR.

Them working on DKCR 3 is the only scenario I can possibly see their game unveiled for E3. But if it's a new engine, I don't think it would be that.

I'm the exact opposite. The better the game the less I want a sequel. Tropical Freeze was flawless, so fuck a sequel - it doesn't need one.

I want to see what else they can do. Really hope we see whatever it is at E3.

Doesn't make a huge amount of sense for them to be putting a lot of effort into the Wii U, though. Launching their next console with Metroid Fission or whatever the Prime sequel would be called would be incredible and a huge boost at launch.
 
I'd be fine if it's Metroid, DKC, a different franchise or a new IP as long as it's great. It's Retro we are talking about here.
 
IF the rumor is true then I hope it is a Metriod game or a new IP. I mean, we all know they can handle Nintendo's existing IPs so how about letting them take a shot at a new Ip of their own? Wishful thinking I guess...
 
Metroid releasing this November. It has to be. The second I heard Zelda was pushed
back I knew something big had to be coming this fall.
 
I hope its for a new console. I know people will gripe, but after the disappointing sales of Tropical Freeze on the Wii U, despite it being a better game than its predecesor, Retro really needs a seller.

And if it is Metroid, there's no way it'll be called "Prime 4"

Donkey Kong 3D, the true sequel to DK64, which is going to be released on VC for the first time soon!
 
If true, I really hope it's not Prime 4 and if it has to be then I really hope they found a way to make Samus move like Samus. I don't know that my patience will last through another game playing as Samus's slow ass cousin.
 
This game most likely won't come out until 2016, meaning 6 years between the last metroid release. I'm going to say it's a new vision of Metroid. Maybe 3rd person on the TV and visor view through the gamepad?
 
Hoping it's Metroid, of course, but if it was would they use a brand new engine rather than an overhauled version of the Prime 3 engine?

Seems like a lot of extra work...
 
I would MUCH rather have another 2D metroid than Prime, but they wouldn't release it on the Wii U, would they?

I honestly want something other than Metroid or Retro. They've shown they have the talent, let them pick another Nintendo IP or make a new one. It's time for them to truly shine.
 
Donkey Kong 64 Returns - Retro's take on a DKC 3d platformer. Calling it.

I'd be more than okay with this actually.

Well, last year DK returns was a platinum reward at club nintendo

This year Tropica Freeze is the platinum reward at club nintendo

Its THE game they´re giving for free. I really dont think they sold a lot...
 
I hope it is not Metroid. I like the series, but Retro worked with it thrice. A new IP, some other Nintendo IP or even a third Donkey Kong game would be better, imo.IF it is Metroid, I hope it is nothing like Prime. Again, I love those games, but three are enough. How about a fully third person Metroid instead, like Other M, except not shitty this time.
