We know that a Rhythm Heaven character was very likely in development at one point, and credible leaks claimed that this character was going to be the Chorus Kids. For whatever reason, the character didn't make the cut. I assume Chorus Kids were planned as the Rhythm Heaven character over others (like Karate Joe, for example) because they were pretty much the face of the best selling game in the series, Rhythm Heaven (Rhythm Tengoku Gold in Japan) on Nintendo DS. Additionally, the Chorus Kids' simple design makes them the perfect base to incorporate other characters and objects from various rhythm games from the series, much like how Mr. Game & Watch is an amalgamation of many elements from different Game & Watch games. Their 3-in-1 nature would also provide a clear visual tell for rhythm-based moves, likely with the two background Chorus Kids initiating a move to a beat, setting up for the player to finish the move as the last Chorus Kid with the right timing.
Here are a couple GIFs that show off potential move sets:
I see what you did there
Hahahaha I can see this being the case.It is totally TheBitBlock, i am going to laugh my ass of when he reveals himself.
I wanted this so bad when it was rumored and this is pretty much the general concept I had in mind for them. I wonder if they were scrapped for the same reason as Ice Climbers, which could mean they could be added to the potential Switch version due to the 3DS version not holding them back.We know that a Rhythm Heaven character was very likely in development at one point, and credible leaks claimed that this character was going to be the Chorus Kids. Just to clarify, I didn't make those Chorus Kids GIFs! I don't know the sources for either, sorry, I just remembered seeing them before and found them again with Google image search.Man, this stuff is fantastic, not only the attack ideas, that are GREAT! but the animation is snappy and cool. Good job!
i sure hope this is fake
Am I the only one hoping for a more gritty look for the next game?
These rumored screenshots look gorgeous though
New characters or I ain't buying this
BRING BACK THE STORY MODE.

BRING BACK THE STORY MODE.
Same. Spring Man in smash would be enough to make me want the switch bad enough to consider buying one soon!
OP really should be updated
I also feels there's a solid chance at another sidescroller levels mode like Adventure/Subspace.
Thats a really long way of saying "its only a little bit of a sidescroller"
The only sidescrolling levels where there's stuff to do are the mario one and the zelda one. It just so happens that the mario one was the first stage on adventure mode, and it was quickly followed by the zelda one (stage 3). People replayed the begining stages a lot more, compared to the later ones, for obvious reasons.
Between that, and that people haven't played adventure mode in many years, there's plenty of people who have this idea that adventure mode was a lot more "platformer" like, than what it really was. However, aside from the 2 levels mentioned above (mario and zelda levels), and a couple of very short bonus levels, everything was a fight after another (from 17 to 24 battles).
There's no need to bring the term "sidescroller" at all.

Honestly the only decision Sakurai made what made me think wtf dude? Adventure mode and Brawls story mode were pretty popular modes, getting rid of such modes was his worst Smash decision ever imo.
Edit: the reason why was also dumb.
I thought this was already confirmed fake? I saw a twitter post fly by a while ago.
Confirmed fake from an anonymous source.
So.
Kinda.
I've never liked people putting these two together. You can't tell if people are remembering melee's adventure mode for what it really was or not.
Melee's adventure mode was not a sidescrolling mode people!! Let's remember how it went:
(you can now skip to the "tl;dr" section at the end of this post, if you want, the final count is there)
Stage 1: Mushroom kingdom
- part 1: a side scrolling level, interumped by a regular smash battle against team yoshi on a green platform
- part 2: battle against mario (or luigi, optional) and peach on Princess Peach's Castle
Stage 2: Kongo Junge
- part 1: batle against two tiny Donkey Kongs in Kongo Jungle
- part 2: battle againt Giant Donkey Kong on Jungle Japes
Stage 3: Underground Maze (the legend of zelda stage)
- part 1: side scrolling level where you must find the triforce, which can be in one of six areas. Each time you reach an area and the triforce is not there, you're interumped by a regular smash battle against link, in a floating platorm that resembles battlefield. You can fight link up to five times (or zero)
- part 2: battle against Zelda or Sheik on Temple
Stage 4: Brinstar
- part 1: battle againt Samus on Brinstar
-part 2: "side scrolling" level where, instead of going from side to side, you must move upwards. You have 40 seconds to reach the top
Stage 5: Green Greens
- part 1: battle against Kirby on Green Greens
- part 2: battle against team kirby on Green Greens
(optional) - part 3: battle againt giant kirby on Green Greens
Stage 6: Cornelia
- part 1: battle against Fox on Corneria
- part 2: battle fox again (or falco, optional) on Corneria
Stage 7: Pokemon Stadium
- part 1: battle against team pokemon in Pokemon Stadium
Stage 8: F-Zero Grand Prix
- part 1: "side scrolling" level where you must run to the finish, trying to avoid the f-zero ships runnning the race
- part 2: battle againt Captain Falcon on Mute City
Stage 9: Onett
- part 1: battle agant three Nesses on Onett
Stage 10: Icicle Mountain
- part 1: i guess that this one includes both "side scrolling" and a battle, becuase of the nature of the stage. Anyway, once you've reached the top, you battle againt two pairs of Ice Climbers
Stage 11: Battlefield
- part 1: battle againt team Fighting Wire Frames on Battlefield
- part 2: battle againt metal mario (or both metal luigi and mario, optional) on battlefield
Stage 12: Final Destination
- part 1: battle againt Giant Bowser on Final Destination
(optional) - part 2: battle againt Giga Bowser on Final Destination
I'd say that there's only really two sidescrolling/platforming stages: the one in mushroom kingdom and the one on the legend of zelda stage. There's little enemies, smash battles, and stuff to do in both. The "side scolling" stages in Brinstar and F-Zero Grand Prinx are both really short bonus levels more than anything. Finally, Icecle Mountain is both a battle stage and a side scrolling stage.
On the other hand, we have 15 mandatory battle stages + 2 additional battle stages, which are optinal , all ouside of the side scolling stages. Then we have to add the 1 battle in mushroom kingdom, from 0-5 in the legend of zelda stage, and icicle mountain which counts both as a side scrolling and a battle stage.
tl;dr
Even if we count all the "side scrolling" stages as equal, which doesn't make much sense to me, we get a total of 5 side scrolling stages, while the number of battles ranges from 17-24!!
HAL (melee's developer, melee was their last smash game) was very aware of when the smash formula "worked": when you and your oponent send each other flying (pinball style), to then try to desperately come back again to the stage (floating platform).
They kept things simple. And that (battling) was pretty much the only thing you did in classic mode, all-stars, event-mode and the same goes for adventure mode.
Ugh this better not be The Bit Block, I'd hate for him to be getting attention again, especially after his JohnTron defence shit.
I'm not sure what to believe, but announce at E3 and releasing 7/21/17, alongside the Cloud, Bayonetta and Corrin Amiibos would be cool.
It is totally TheBitBlock, i am going to laugh my ass of when he reveals himself.
He'd fuck it up anyway, as he would fall back on never delivering on promises and insulting his new fans, but yeah, he's a racist as fuck shitlord coward who deserves no attention.Saaaame. He doesn't deserve an Omni-style redemption
At the initial reveal, if it's revealed at E3? All I'd expect for sure is Inkling, and maybe Ice Climbers. If there are more characters to be revealed, though? Well...
After Inkling and Ice Climbers, Chorus Kids, Decidueye, Elma, Spring Man, Wolf, and Snake make up my pool of expected characters.
March 2018 at best. Join the dojo brehs
These are as real as my wife's fake tits.
Nah, it'll be this fall.
... The hell?
