Rumor: Universal Building Third Park Based On Games. (Including: Nintendo + Blizzard)

Really happy to hear this. My biggest concern for Nintendo the past few years has been that they're failing to attract young customers in the numbers they used to. Amiibos, theme parks, and new cartoon series would be a great step toward re-establishing their brands with the demographic they need for future stability.

f-zero ride pls
Yes please.

I believe even people on neogaf is saying this, tho I believe he said theres a disney deal with nintendo, maybe its both

Universal would be better off getting rid of some of its own stuff in the park if they intend to bring in Nintendo and Warcraft as heavily as this implies. Keep the iconic things and get rid of garbage that is kept around because its universal. Update the Jurassic Park area,Have the impressive Potter area and then consider everything else that isn't iconic expendable

The problem is there's not that much that's expendable outside of Toon Lagoon.

Sinbad was just renovated and Mythos is considered as the best theme park restaurant in the country. Seuss Landing is held to the Seuss Estate to stay around and there's no way they'll touch Marvel Island when Disney can't have those characters in their parks as long as it exists.

Basically there's nothing in IoA that can simply be removed except for Toon Lagoon.

Yep, that's what I said. Great work on reading.

All I said that it would be risky. Do you know what that word means? Nobody was insulting your video games.

Is it really all that more risky than Disney putting in a Land centered around the Avatar film?

The World of Nintendo - Repurposed Back To The Future ride following a villain (probably just Bowser) travelling through various games, with the riders meeting and being protected/assisting the heroes, includes accidentally being swallowed by Kirby at some point.

The Legend of Zelda: The Interactive Adventure - A walking experience with you being guided by an undercover ally through the beginning stage of A Link To The Past. Meet Link's uncle, sneak past guards, save Zelda and escape through the church. At some point you can see Link and Gannondorf fighting.

Star Fox: The Ride - Fly through space rollercoaster (Space Mountain) do barrel rolls, get commentry from Fox's crew, at some point the ride halts and holographic Andross attacks. Fox's crew fly in to save the day and the ride then warps off back to base.

Pokemon Snap: Gotta snap 'em all! - A on rails laser shooter game like the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disney. You shoot lasers (gun shaped like a camera) at the censors on the Pokemon and compete against your friends for the highest score. The Pokemon are 3d robot (animatronic?) things that move so there may be a Pikachu hiding behind a structure that will peek out just before you leave the power station and enter the cave.

Mario Party Pavilion - A Mario Party themed hall of minigames and challenges, a Tomorrowland like experience. This is NOT just a set up of Wii U's playing Mario Party, but at the end can have consoles (N64 to Wii U) set-up with enough controllers for people to play if they would like.

Splatoon Splash-Down - Paintball seems a bit unrealistic unless you are prepared to pay on top of admission, Splatoon themed water world with a varying selection of water guns seems like a good compromise.

Super Mario Kart - The obvious kart driving attraction, as racing is not likely an option for legal reasons, this will be a dodgem car thing with the carts having lasers and censors. As you go around the track you can pick up items that will display on your in-kart monitor and you can activate and use it to protect or enhance yourself or shoot a projectile at an enemy you are facing. Will either be a point score at the end or you have lives like the MK battle mini-games.

Super Mario World - Super Mario themed jungle-gym playland, pipes, blocks etc. for kids to play and climb over. Mature age children also welcome.

Sonic Land would probably be a bad idea for the same reasons as a My Little Pony Land.

Sonic is a gaming icon for over twenty years, having a video game theme park not including Sonic is an insult, especially since there are existing successful Sonic themed rollercoasters. You could also have cool attractions based on Dr Robotnik's inventions. He doesn't need an entire section of the facility, but there is lots of potential for awesome rides .

High speed, adrenaline rush orientated themes lends itself perfectly to theme parks.

It's not really an insult. Sonic games' stock has really fallen over the last 15 years. Also there's only like 4 characters you can base rides around, as opposed to almost every Mario character considered as iconic.

It's a shame Universal doesn't have Crash Bandicoot anymore. That'd be another video game series that could return to the parks.

Also, I'm personally hoping we get a DK Minecart ride.

I feel like Sonic hasn't been an icon in years. His ip stock fell with sega and the fact that it's been over a decade since he was in a good game. He has an important place in video game history, but arguing that he's still in any way relevant is laughable. And this is a business venture, not a museum. I don't think it's really worth it for universal to negotiate with Sega to use his ip

My life has seen so many miracles related to my hobbies that I have to believe this is going to happen.

The world would be a better place. A MUCH better place if we have a waverace water ride, an fzero thrill coaster, and a Mario kart go kart section.

Of course starfox 3d Sim ride

The more competition the better, so bring it on!

It'll be interesting to see what they have in store for us.

This is pretty exciting. It's been 11 years since I've been to Universal, so this and the Harry Potter stuff would be great reasons to go back.
