How are most of Sony's games third person action movie games made to win awards if they're also "VR/psn free shovelware"?
Cause those are the only games left then, shovelware and free indy games exist on all platforms.

Im liking not only ppl who dare to voice the their opinions,.
May i remind you that your still in a MS thread, how did you land here in the first place, as you said your a Play station gamer?

Just let it sink and await the E3, Sony might come with something too. Its only two months.

In that case ignore the PSN & VR games (because they destroy your argument but whatever, I'll pretend with you they don't count) and list these movie games. I'll wait.

I wanted to comment on the topic. I didn't mention Sony at all to start with but I did in response to others. Hey people open the door, I'll come right in, why not?

Sony won't be at E3 so moot point. Though I do look forward to MS' conference, last year was awesome. So many multiplat games to play on my PS4.

Keep waiting, i wont start a pointless list war about Sony in a MS thread. Create one yourself.
Discounting vr/freeware, your left with those 3rd person movies 30fps.

You know you dont have to hate something whrn you dislike it or their practices?

No E3 for sony, thats too bad.
Yeah halo infinite and all those aquired studios might mean good for ps4.
Atleast MS doesnt have to lock ppl into their only xbox platform.
Only 10% that buys those sony games anyways.

May i remind you this is a MS thread? You wont thrive in it.

And that's all we need in the end.

That's what MS so desperately needs. Quality games.
I've played some of the exclusives this gen. They're just OK from a gameplay perspective, but they do look pretty and their story's are pretty good also. But once I'm done with them, they get uninstalled and/or collect dust. I wouldn't mind if MS did something similar, but also did something that's going to bring me back.

Yet again, you lose.

You know you dont have to hate something whrn you dislike it or their practices?
Nah, you clearly hate them and it's honestly quite sad and bizzare you've dedicated your life on GAF to hating a games company.

Only 10% that buys those sony games anyways.
You really want to talk about sales figures, dude? Trust me, that's not a road a MS fanboy wants to go down this gen.

Atleast MS doesnt have to lock ppl into their only xbox platform.
They did last gen. lol

10% of PS users buys those exclusives on average. Your in the minority if you bought HZD.

Btw, you are in a MS thread about MS aquiring studios.

What is the average of a console's install base that buys exclusives? How many third party games on PS4 have sold 90 million? How many on 360 sold 84 million? How many 360 exclusives sold 84 million? If you take issue with 10% buying a game then you must know what the average is. Either that or you're full of shit.

Btw, you are in a MS thread about MS aquiring studios.
You keep saying this and yet I've already explained that you opened the door by making claims I'm merely responding to. You've literally just made another in the same post. Why do you keep talking about Sony in a thread about MS acquiring studios?

We havent been hearing much from Sony since 2017, other then allready known/announced titles, which are much of the same thing as their put up with. News like this abd MS actually improving ln their only disadvantage may cause friction to some.

To Gekid, i think your lost, your still in a MS thread spamming Sony BS.
You wouldnt have read this topics content if you didnt land in here to begin with.

It doesnt matter if you belong to that 10%.

Nice pivot. I'll safely assume you just can't answer what I asked because you don't know what you're talking about.

Also, how am I "spamming Sony BS" when everything -besides my first post which had nothing to do with Sony- is quoting someone else talking about Sony? Come on, dude, now you're just being disingenuous. You just want to lie about stuff and go unchallenged.

Did you notice you are actually trying to provoke Sony list wars in a MS thread?
Did you notice I posted a list of Sony games in response to your claim that Sony only make third person movie games? Dude, you're not going to win this. Everything I've posted has been merely a response to some BS claim. I get the angle you're trying to play but you've fucked yourself by being the instigator. Let me make this clear so that even you can understand it:

YOU STARTED MAKING CLAIMS, I HAVE MERELY RESPONDED TO THEM.

Please, go check Freeman454's posts in this very thread, count how many aren't talking about Sony. Hint: It's close to 0.

Wrong.

It's the need for people to compare things to Sony and fanboys get upset when people point that out.

MS is actively improving its library, services and hardware. Halo Infinite is being heavily funded, might support DXR ray tracing.

While i dont think this particular crop of studios is all that inspiring, assuming it true, I do think Sony need to make some moves themselves. They have low key expanded their biggest studios but that not as flashy as buying studios. I think were at the point where their radio silence is becoming a bad thing considering Microsoft is screaming from the rooftops even if it about insignificant stuff. Shit or get off the pot.

Please point out the "rollercoaster rides":
I'll wait.

EDIT: I just checked Freeman454's post history on GAF. His entire literal existence here consists of liking anti Sony posts and posting Sony hate. lol WTF? This has got to be someone else's sockpuppet account.
Why are you arguing with someone who just created an account to provoke you? Dude probably got banned and made a new account.

It is a pity that Telltale Games closed really...

A new engine, less expensive and more interesting licences (Wolf and Borderlands etc) would have been a great Game Pass company.

Putting out complete versions of the games (all episodes and patches) on physical a year or so later would have been great too.

I really like the idea of AA studios for the Game Pass with lower budgets & more freedom to try things.

Between 10 or so 1st party AA studios and buying up promising indies, alongside a couple of IO or Telltale type companies with episodic content, you could easily have an exclusive game (or 2) of the month.

Realease a physical 'Best of the Pass' multipack every 6 months or so after around a year of exclusivity and keep the physical buyers happy too.

Apologies for the stream of consciousness posts:

Final idea, have a major developer build an open world GTA type game. Then once a year or so release a 'Ballad of Gay Tony' type story in the same world with minor differences (like Kamurocho in the Yakuza games). Different shops opening and closing, earthquake flattening part of the map, major developments in another area. The major characters one year, could be side characters in other stories etc.

Have a living city evolve of the life of the Xbox2 would be close to my dream game if done right (with a Kevin Feige person overseeing continuity).

They should.

Exclusives was one of the right moves they did at XB1 launch and should focus on more titles for the whole generation... not just the start.

Now I believe cheap exclusives for Game Pass won't be a good path.

if they don't get it finalized no huge lose IMO.

they all make mediocre games. probably just trying to buy up studios to make up an impressive number.

at best we'll get new IP from them and well....that could go either way.
Lol you really think MS will just buy up studios to make impressive numbers, because Studios, resources, manpower and managing all of that is like buying a value meal at McDonald's? How old are you?

It would be great if IO Interactive was saved by Microsoft after the weak (full price) sales of Hitman 2 (instead of closing down), but on the other hand it'll suck not getting any more of their games for the PS4.
But you also wouldn’t get them if IO was closed down right? So you’ve lost nothing in the final analysis. Smile! 😁

Acquiring studios is one thing but making good games people want to buy is another.
Yes but one must come before the other right?

That’s like saying buying a steak is one thing but cooking it properly is another.

Sure but we aren’t eating steak at all tonight if no one goes shopping so I’m not sure I follow the point being made.

Not really these studios could make shit games no one wants that's my point. It's not easy making a new IP in today's market. Cleary one of them will get one right but all three of them doing it would be a miracle. Don't get me wrong I hope they all make games we want the more games the better for all of us.

MS is gearing up for next gen. Sony should be worried. There wont be no kinect/price point fuck up at launch this time around, hardware will most likely be xbox one X like and there will be games. This is the one thing everyone has been complaining about and with all these studios now, lack of games wont be a problem.

All 3 making a game you personally want is not only unlikely but I would say it’s probably impossible. But the game you don’t like others may dig.

We don’t need 15 studios all making ultra realistic story driven games that are only separated by time period, camera perspective, and weapon choice of gun, sword, or twirling axe.

You’re gonna get some great variety based just on the number of studios so long as MS grants true creative freedom and that’s a good thing.

Feels like there is a litmus test for what is or isn’t a good game and all that test is really about is disqualifying any game that doesn’t fit a certain mold. We need to reject that idea. It chills creativity.

Indeed, MS wont just hand a win to Sony this time around. They are heavily investing in their AAA halo series aswell.

Might MS go for real hardcore games, not the few a year AAA zombie 3rd person cinematic gaming experiences sony has been putting out the last 7 years, gamers might pick up on that and we can see a 360&PS3 gen again, but this time around Xbox has been around longer then just 4 years.
MS could also output more then just 20 titles like Sony did over the whole console lifespan.

It will be so funny if in 2022 and beyond when we get these games we end with vaporware and awful games like Scalebound, Crackdown, State of Decay, Sea of thieves. etc.

I hope im wrong but they seem commited to cheap shovelware and light coop multiplayer to fill with "experiences" Game-pass.

Can't say I've heard of Asobo, and looking them up online they don't seem to have done anything worth noting, so that would be a weird get.
But the other 2 are pretty good.

Don't know why reactions to this are negative. People have spent the entire gen complaining about MS exclusives, now MS is investing in new studios and that's bad too?.
I get that buying studios doesn't equal having a good library, but they have to start somewhere.
to some people on here Microsoft is the devil and everything they do is anti consumer even if everyone is doing it i remember when they announced the Xbox everyone said they would kill the industry

Just my 2 cents:

Crackdown 3: should have been cheaper ($40.00)
State of Decay 2: should have been delayed a couple of months
Sea of Thieves: lacked content (seems like a better game right now)
Scalebound: still hurts...

I think people constantly forget that MS had so many studios before this gen that if they had a few more they would have had more than Sony and Nintendo combined back then, and that's game dev studios only.

Them rebuilding by numerically having the studios they had before isn't a bad thing at all and I don't know why people are making it seem bad. MS did his same thing Twice during its history and it resulted in great games in a short amount of time, and not all of a sudden these studios are all "c tier" despite people having fangasms about games like Alpha Protocol, and the like, but once MS gets a studio that studio that's irrelevant and the studio is now "garbage".

But regardless this thread isn't true because Relic is owned by Sega and is one of it's only revenue producers, so unless Microsoft is giving Sega enough money to off-set 7-10 years of losses err.....
Microsoft never had more studios than them, didn't they have around less than 10?

What a BS rumour. 'Trying' to sign studios just so they can say at E3 they got more studios?

MS have still not learnt that just buying studios doesnt lead to success.
How do you know this? I'm not saying it does or it doesn't...but when has a company ever tried this? They just went out and bought 6 or seven studios and created their own brand new one? It's a new method and while it's unproven, you seem to be suggesting that it's destined to fail.

Does anyone even care about Bioware anymore? What was the last great game they made, Mass Effect 2 a decade ago?
I mean, that’s kind of conducive to my point and you’re pretty much correct. Although I personally enjoyed DA: Inquisition.

Ever since EA took them over, they haven’t had the creative freedom I feel to continue making good narrative stories.

Now especially with GaaS being EA’s priority, developers like BioWare just don’t have a spot at the table it seems.

Unless of course, somebody picked them up to give them the creative freedom to craft a game to their vision.
