Rumour: Modern Warfare Remastered includes campaign & 10 multiplayer maps

Yep, the cycle is like this

Infinity Ward (Modern Warfare/Ghosts)
Sledgehammer Games (Advanced Warfare)
Treyarch (World at War/Black Ops)

It gives each studio three years to make their game.
I'm really looking forward to Sledgehammer games next project, their tech is impressive.

Calling BS on this because the blurb says "only 10" MP maps. No marketing blurb would say "only". It would say something like "10 fan favorite maps".

In the 'Remastered Classics' DLC pack containing your other favorite map(s)!

"When you purchase the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Season Pass you will receive early access to all of your favorite Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare maps and map packs. As a bonus you will receive all future Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare DLC maps for free, as well as playing all future DLC for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare 2 weeks before everyone else. We look forward to seeing you on the battlefield."

Wet Work, Bog and Bloc are terrible anyway

Those will be gone I'm sure of it

I mainly played Search & Destroy and most of the maps worked really well in that mode, although I wasn't the biggest fan of Bog. Creeping through the apartments in Bloc was intense.

If activation did in fact cannibalize Infinite Warfare and re-released MW by its side as a stand alone game, what are the chances that MW outsells Infinite Warfare?

I still think the new game would sell more. Acti will put more marketing dollars behind the new game and people like new.

At best I see them bundling this with the new game to squeeze a few extra dollars out of people. Hell I'll buy it.

and then maybe like a few months down the line offer it separately.

Depends on if they sell it as a standalone but it's very possible imo. If they were smart they would keep it locked to that legacy edition for a few months then release it as a standalone (from a business perspective).

As long as it's actually a remaster then it could ship with 8 maps and I'd be satisfied.

but I'm not expecting it to be an actual remaster. I'm expecting it to be the exact game I played on PC almost 10 years ago, at 1080p, for $30 or more standalone. I'd laugh at that shit.

If they were doing a straight PC port I'd imagine that they would include all maps. Only having ten leads me to guess that they actually did a graphical overall and didn't want to do all the work for all maps (which is fair) and is exactly what H2A did. It's not hard to believe that while the main CoD teams worked on their titles Activision outsourced a remaster to a company like BluePoint or Certain Affinity.

What is the likelyhood of CODMWR sharing the same servers with Infinite Warfare, but on an MW specific lobby? Like if you have Infinite Warfare, and select the MW multiplayer you can play on these 10 maps, but you'd be playing the same people who have the MW remastered copy with the campaign and MW multiplyer only?

I think its likely that they also graphically revamp the campaign and those maps as well, so they are basically just using the Halo Anniversary formula which shared maps with Reach

They are probably remastering this... so of course it wouldnt be all MP maps... When they create new assets etc.

Dont get the complaints.

The main selling game is Infinite Warfare. This Remaster is basicly just a bonus

Are you thinking remake here? Most remasters don't do much more than improve resolution, framerate and image quality. I certainly don't expect Activision to go above and beyond in that regard. There wouldn't be any new assets, just a higher quality implementation on what's already exists. So yeah, I'm going to complain about them gutting half of the multiplayer maps from the game.

Gear of War Ultimate edition is not a remake, neither is Halo Anniversary, its just putting better graphics on top of an existing template. I think its reasonable for them to do that.

It would be fun to have them add maps from later released call of duty games in the remaster. Maps from my 2, black ops, etc. Nuke town in mw1 could be fun, lol.

If its just a port why not have all maps and why call it Remastered? ;)

Gears of War UE and Halo 2 Anniversary are two great examples how a Remaster can be done.

I can see them doing this tbh. wouldn't be the worst scenario, i guess.

It's not a "bonus" when they're selling it for $30 and so far tying it to buying the newest installment. The least they could do is include all of the original maps, though I really don't see why they wouldn't just include the dlc maps as well.

The only thing I want to know is if the pc version get's the 4p splitscreen mode (and all the other splitscreen modes like coop MW2), it's ridiculous that they removed that from the pc version.

The memories I have on this map, I carry to this day I loved this games MP more than anything I had ever played up until then.

Man.............
Sitting with an M40A5 in that building overlooking the main street, sniping all the heads that dared cross from one side of the map to the other.
So good.
