Russo Brother Confirmed to Direct Avengers: Infinity War

Huh? Quicksilver in DOFP was no different than the stuff they did on Smallville.
lol

Singer did QS' realtime scenes smart. It seemed like he had teleported, but you always saw the effects he had on the environment around him, whether it was somebody's jacket or hair or book pages being blown by the wind created by his moving. It wasn't all just Singer's handling of that amazing prison escape scene. Singer's Quicksilver seemed tangible and actually part of the scene. He was interacting with the same space as the rest of the cast.

Edit2: Ou man, why do we have to turn this into another Franchise A vs. Franchise B thread? I am out.

Russos gonna be busy as fuck with Civil War post-production and pre-production for back to back movies at the same time. Luckily there's two of them.

Gotta fit in the Guardians and Defenders too...

Guardians is a given but pleeeassse Defenders cameos.

I don't want TV Marvel to cross over. MCU is already packed as it is, i like the idea that we have these smaller folks dealing with gutter punks.

If Infinity Wars really includes everyone, then there's going to be like +20 heroes in those films. That's a recipe for having your favorite characters relegating to pulling a switch ala Cap in avengers 1.

The only person it would make sense to bring over from the TV shows is Quake. You can't have the whole TV cast show up, and she's the only "superhero" on the TV shows anyway.

If Marvel don't start on crossing over those TV heroes to the movies, then that's one of the largest missed opportunities. It's like the ultimate payoff for me and what I'm waiting to see unfold.

Also Skye isn't the only "superhero" on TV. If she is, then Gordon, Rains, Jaiya and all those inhumans are equally "superheroes" and so is Daredevil alone for the vision he has stemming from his heightened senses.

If they don't cross over the TV heroes, then they could have just as easily just have had their shows in a separate universe. For now the references are doing fine, but we absolutely need to see those crossovers.

Nah fuck it man, it's the MCU for a reason. Might as well pull a DC if they're not going to take advantage.

I think they are referring to Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. The only one of those that I could maybe see making the movies would be Daredevil, but even that's a stretch.

There should be.

I'm not expecting anyone outside the main Avengers to get a lot of story time. But this is an all hands on deck scenario. I want at the very least cameos from everyone in the MCU, TV included.

Why do people think it's two parts in the first place? To flesh out Thanos's brilliantly devious plan LOL

We will get six hours of banter between Star-Lord, Spidey, Iron Man, and Daredevil, and y'all will LOVE IT.

The great thing about Infinity War is that Kevin Feige said they are aiming to make two distinct films rather than one long movie cut in half.

That means there is the possibility to fit more characters since they are less bound by trying to try to round up everyone in the first movie and fight in the second. Instead, they can do something like a conflict that takes place in space then comes to earth or vice versa where some people are more relevant in space (Guardians, Nova Corps) some are more relevant on Earth (SHIELD, Defenders) and some are likely to be involved throughout (any of the Avengers depending on their status in the group and what they have to do at the time). Plus hopefully we get some unexpected team ups and line ups changes at various points so we can see something new like someone else besides Cap leading the Avengers or something cool like Star Lord/Iron Man/War Machine fighting by Black Widow/Gamora with Ant-Man/Hawkeye, Captain Marvel/Thor, Groot/Hulk, and Daredevil/Spider-Man.

My guess is that if AoU and Civil War break the team apart, Part 1 will be more about the new guys introduced in Phase 3 and some of the utility players from Phases 1/2 fighting (and failing) against Thanos. Then Part 2 brings the OG Avengers back into play to ge tthe job done.

I would imagine the first movie is all about the Avengers getting their asses kicked by Thanos with a cliffhanger, followed by a movie or everyone who's not currently in the Avengers (Guardians, Spider-Man, Panther, Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel, maybe the Defenders) all getting together and saving the day.

Cue the perfect exit point for the old dogs like RDJ, Chris Evans, and Hemsworth, as they realize the world is in good hands.

Enter Avengers 5: "New Avengers"

they'd be the revengers at that point, no?

Captain Marvel, definitely, since that takes place between parts 1 and 2. Inhumans maybe before part 2, since that's the epilogue to Phase 3 and comes out after Part 2

I want Infinity War's climax to call back to the panning hero shot from the first Avengers -- except instead of the camera circling the heroes as they're surrounded by enemies, it circles around Thanos as he finds himself surrounded by 20-30 Avengers.

Oh fuck, yes, please.

I certainly hope it doesn't come down to the Avengers punching Thanos in the face.

That would be bad ass. I want this now.

It's a super hero movie. They basically boil down to people in funny costumes punching other people in funny costumes in the face.
Thanos is a bit higher on the food chain than the other villains they've faced, and by the sounds of it he'll likely be wielding the infinity gauntlet complete with some of the stones. I would hope there would be something more to it than the Avengers rushing him all at once.

Wait. Exactly how many heroes will be in AV3 pt1-2? It will still probably out Downey in the forefront right? Since he draws in money and whatnot. I am just realizing how many heroes might appear in this.

My hope is a merging of Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos Quest, and Infinity stories. Just infinity gauntlet would be very disappointing.

My bad for the huge edit, but yeah, I guess I'll wait and see the movie to understand what you're talking about.
Not a problem. My first thought after I tappes Post that I should have maybe posted this not as a Quote because its not a direct answer.

Sorry if you think this is a spoiler for you, my bad :/

I think AoU did a great job when it came to cameo appearances from superheroes.
I think many of the appearances will be like Fury and SHIELD or War Machine in AoU, where they show up for a couple of scenes for one joke and one fight scene. Do any of us really want any more from Ant-Man or Hawkeye in the film than for them to do their MvC3 team up move once?

Funny when you realize that the showrunners of a terrible season of Community are now the pinnacle of Marvel movie directors. Goes to show that you really can't tell what someone is capable of.

They were never showrunners. They were writers (who got noticed for their paintball episodes early on) and producers

Please, can we get a DC-Marvel Movie/TV Universe OT?

I can't figure out what is going on, timelines, what is connected.

Not just the movies, but arrow, flash, agent carter, aqua man, ant man, and now everyone talks about daredevil. Then there is superman vs batman and all them others. And what about the x-men/fantastic four? There is so much I cant keep up.

I would love someone to explain how to watch it in the right order, what to avoid, what can be skipped.

Elektra was on TV some days ago and it was not good. I had no idea how it fit with everything.
