All I can think of is Brain Damage.

Someone help me out here. There's an old 80's horror flick I remember seeing that had these things that looked like large black leeches that would crawl into peoples mouths. I can't remember if it would kill the person or "turn" them but man that shit freaked me out so bad that I couldn't finish watching the movie.

Anyone know the name of the film?
Night of the Creeps?

Thread sucks without names of the movies in half the posts.

I threw up twice after seeing Saving Private Ryan's beach scene and knife scene when I was a kid.

Both intensely scary in their realism.

Made me sleep under the bed for a few nights.

But that's where the monsters are. :p

When I was young, every movie scared me, even kid movies. I got scared in Aladdin, got scared during the Neverending Story (that huge turtle thing freaked me out), and probably got scared during some other movies I can't remember at the moment.

There's also another scene where someone has to reach into the sink and fix something (like a clog, I can't remember) and the garbage disposer turns itself on and chops up their hand. This scene STILL makes me nervous when reaching in sinks with garbage disposers. Thankfully my current sink doesn't have one.
Was this in the made for TV Amityville 4? I remember a really drawn out scene with the garbage disposal, and the plumber taping the switch. The tape mysteriously comes off and the switch goes off when he reaches in.

First one is Star Trek ][: Wrath of Khan:

The other is from the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I'll have to find a pic...

Oh, poster before me got it. I was scarred by this, and have never watched the (rest of the) movie, nor remakes, nor read the book.

Wow, here I was strolling through a thread and I get a mindfuck from the past. I've been looking for this movie for so long now, so long. I've been asking people for years, with just this one scene to go on, if they knew what the movie was. I wiki'd it and now I need to go rent it.

By the by, this scene/movie scared the shit out of me.

Prince of Darkness "Dream" sequence

In the movie, priests at this church have been having the same dream for hundreds of years. Anyone who sleeps at the church has the same dream. The dream is actually a video broadcast from the future warning people of the arrival of Satan on Earth at this church.

Night of the Creeps?

Yes! Thanks

I just watched the trailer and you know what? Those leeches still freak me out! I think it's my irrational fear of worms that does me in. *shivers*

I remember as a kid running out of the house during this scene because I couldn't deal with not only the obviously scary visuals but the creepy sounds/screams that accompanied it. The brilliant way that it unfolds still gets to me, all smiles around the dinner table when suddenly everything goes to **** within the blink of an eye.

I loved the cop's favorite line in that movie, "thrill me". :)

Just thought of another scene that freaked me out as a kid. It was a movie called "Xtro" (I think that's how it's spelled). If I remember right, a woman gave birth to a full grown man. Scene was gross and scared the shit out of me...

The very reason why I'll probably never watch American History X ever again. Solid film but man does that scene give me chills and certainly not the good kind.

When the dead lady walked by the bathroom when the kid was taking a leak in the 6th sense. As a kid that scene made me scared to take a piss in the middle of the night for a while.

I was a pretty wimpy kid, so almost all of these scared me.

Here's one I haven't seen yet (probably because it was only scary to me). The video store my family used to visit had a giant cardboard stand-up with the cover to a crappy old movie called Zone Troopers. I remember running around looking for a video, and turning the corner to see this:

zone+troopers+lightning+vhs+front.gif

I finally saw the movie as an adult and its basically Cliff Claven vs. the aliens. So not as scary as I had imagined.

I loved Jurassic Park when i was young, but there was always a couple of scenes i didnt dare to watch like this one for example

Others include the raptor jumping on the hunter dude in the jungle and the dismembered arm in the bunker:

I was eight when this movie came out, I was the one that chose to go see it. Nightmares for months afterward. Truly damaged me. I never actually recovered. It turned into obsession later. I must be surrounded my reminders of that movie. For example, my username is Metal-Alien

The scene in The Fly where Goldblum starts to lose bits of face.

The scene in The Terminator where Arnold is carving his weak fleshy eyeball out.

It's no wonder I grew up to be a hypochondriac when I was traumatized by body horror.

As a child of the 80s, here are my favorites from the thread:

It didn't help that my basement had these red lights that stayed on when all the other lights were off.

Well a bunch of stuff in T2 certainly gave me nightmares, but in all fairness that movie's R for good reason.

I can't remember the name of the movie, but it had one of the Lawrence brothers in it and I think it had a couple cheap sequels. It was about a family moving into a house where all the appliances were trying to kill them.

There's one scene where a woman takes a shower, but the water heater acts up and she ends up being burned alive. Now, I was about 10 or 11 and my family was trying to get me to move on from taking baths to taking showers, and this movie terrified the idea of me in the shower for a good year or two. I think even when I started to, I was as quick and discrete as possible.

There's also another scene where someone has to reach into the sink and fix something (like a clog, I can't remember) and the garbage disposer turns itself on and chops up their hand. This scene STILL makes me nervous when reaching in sinks with garbage disposers. Thankfully my current sink doesn't have one.

There are a few possibilities:

GHOST IN THE MACHINE

HOUSE 3 (aka THE HORROR SHOW)

SHOCKER

But the answer is... PULSE.

Man I just watched Fire in the Sky because of this thread and it still scared the shit out of me...that abduction scene at the end...feels bad, man :(

The Fly II

The poor dog that got mutilated by the teleporter and then kept alive in suffering

I was traumatized as a kid by this.

But at least there was some sweet revenge for the dog's fate.

Watched this as a young boy with my older sister.. He still kinda gives me the creeps.

edit: I mean the first Child's Play. Later in life I watched the 2nd one, which was alright. Never bothered with the rest.

I watched many horror films as a child. Friday the 13th, Halloween, Child's Play, Hellraiser, etc. None of the deaths got me like this one from ANoES5: Dream Child.

Still fucks me up to this day. People posting Signs are weak or are very young. That film was released in 2002, man.

Also another death from Dream Child.
