Well that's all they had while the other companies they outsourced to were working on their maps.
....ba dum pish.

yea really. if it had all the races/tech/magic i wouldn't buy it :lol .GhaleonEB said:If they give you all of the weapons, races, magic and tech you'd have all the gameplay - and this game is all about the gameplay.

Linkzg said:wow, Shadowrun is actually pretty fun, I still dont think I will buy the game, but it is still fun. The powers are pretty cool, but the weapons pretty much suck hard.
and not letting you map powers to the Dpad is a terrible idea, stopping and having to switch to tree of life in the middle of battle is lame.

err quckcasting isn't bringing up a menu. Quickcasting is mapping a tech / magic to RB, LB, or LT. It works fast enough. Also i've ran while rezing before...besada said:It's not quite that fast. You can't quickcast while running past a dead body without at least pausing a little, which is a problem. He's right, they should have made d-pad buttons mappable for noncombat spells. In addition, quickcasting also requires bringing up a menu that blots out what you're seeing, which is sort of a problem in a high-intensity shoot out, no?
Speaking of you, why aren't you on playing with the rest of the Gaffers? I've played every day since the game came out and haven't seen you. After your enormous buildup, you'd think you'd at least show up to play.

well in that case i'm totally fine with it. It wouldn't be much fun if everybody could cast all the spells at all the same speeds. Makes you choose which ones are more important to your strategyHaklong said:When he says quick casting, he means via the right trigger. Some people hold B, go to the spell they want, map it, and then cast. He meant to leave things like tree of life and rez not mapped. That way you hold B, go to tree of life and pull the right trigger.
I never map rez or tree of life. I tend to quick cast those two spells. I played so much I can get to them in a second anyways. I leave RB, LT, and LB for combat spells and tech. I did play a game last night against a team that was killing us off really fast so I did leave Rez mapped so I can run and cast.

It's not a "problem" as you'er saying it. It's supposed to be like that. Like others have said, you're not supposed to be an unstoppable magic/tech machine that can do everything with the press of a button.besada said:It's not quite that fast. Think about it; super-quick access to more than 3 powers/techs would make the game really lame and it'd just turn into a spaz-fest of people running around using every power everywhere, and there'd be no room for strategy or figuring out what powers to buy to counter a skilled player on the other team. The limited selection is what makes the game tactical and fun.

I mean, that'd get terribly boring, tactically at least. Got smoke? Everybody else has gust. Did you kill someone? Everyone on their team has easy access to rez anyway. Chasing someone who's almost down? He is guaranteed to have tree of life around the corner, so you might as well stop chasing as he's gonna have full health in a second anyway.

No, we really don't. I play this game all day long (seriously, I'm addicted and I don't even want help!) and there's always a medic. The answer why is simple: they were smart enough to make an achievement for rezing.besada said:What we see now is people to afraid to map Rez because it takes up a slot they might otherwise use to keep themselves alive.
Because that way everybody would have it and they'd lose their value.besada said:What negatives do you see in having everyone able to have rez/tree in addition to three combat skills?
hyp said:thanks for the tip haklong, did not know this "quick cast" existed until you mentioned it.
