looks awesome. i was worried about the framerate, but the IGN trailer seemed to be running nicely.
and LOL@haters we barely saw two creatures for 2.4543 seconds in the IGN trailer and already its being labeled "uninspired"
That would be freaking hilarious, actually.shidoshi said:And seriously... how stupid would the developers have to be to make a character that is out of proportion with his environment?

dark10x said:You know what else is worrisome about this one? The fact that the PSP uses an LCD and LCDs are f*cking bright in the dark. No matter what they do, the game will NOT have deep, inky blacks. For me, it is the darkness combined with the audio that really allowed SH to work (from a fear perspective). SH4 completely removed most of the darkness, which killed the tension, and this will be limited by the display it's strapped to. :\

The RE games let you do that from the menu, but I can't remember for SH.

Considering how the town looks this could be intentional.
My point was that it doesn't matter. The PSP's screen is an LCD and LCDs are bright f*cking displays. If you display a black screen on that thing in a dark room...it's not going to look black. It's going to glow. Brightly.cvxfreak said:Will toning the brightness down work?

Why, exactly? What good would that do us as gamers?renvi said:**** konami, hope they getts sued for stealing all the concepts from RE series.

Every LCD will do this no matter how expensive it may be. Only a CRT can deliver the true black that Silent Hill demands.

That's just awful. Hand puppet cam FTL! Just like PSP SOCOM.
Looks like the dude from the Cabela hunting games got lost in Silent Hill.

LOL thats the truth :lolLooks like the dude from the Cabela hunting games got lost in Silent Hill.
The game looked absolutely dazzling too, wowing us with a visual presentation that most PS2 software still hasn't achieved. In fact, Silent Hill Origins' graphical detail is so well-crafted that even the most subtle things -- things you'll probably never even see through the darkness -- have been rendered in some fashion or another (down to the individual cracks in the walls) and the signature Silent Hill fog looks appropriately ominous and realistic.
Konami tells us that there's still a boat load of optimization left to do with Silent Hill Origins, though, so to fault it too much so soon probably wouldn't be right.
Hopefully we'll get more time with the game over the next couple of months (it isn't due out until 2007),
inthezone said:Well Im a BIG SH fanboy and even I say they're pretty lame and uninspired. However the atmosphere is lookings all kinds of awesome and that matters even more than the monster IMO.
I just hope for better monsters, maybe add some polish cuz they look straight out of the never-seen-before PS1 version of "The suffering" :lol
Where's jollycorner, he must comment on this trailer!!
Himuro said:Is that song Yamaoka?!
TheJollyCorner said:haha, I actually echo your feelings on this one, zone.
The monsters (with the exception of the shadowy one on the stairway) are pretty lackluster- but the atmosphere, so far, seems spot on. I really liked the style of this trailer.
I loved the trailer music- and after the utter disappointment of the lack of an original Yamaoka/Williams song for the SH movie, it's great to hear them do a new song together again.
The truth is, as much as my PSP is salivating for this game, I can't help but watch this trailer and wish I was watching the first next-gen Silent Hill.
Soon, I hope...
btw, has anyone made a rip of the trailer music yet?![]()
