So whats the consensus Anti Aliasing?
If I use Extreme AA I get an average of 43FPS
But if I use High AA I get an average of 59FPS
Everything else on max
Extreme AA is totally unnecessary. Go High.

Anyone tried the smaa injector?
Then that's not all maxed out.
Yeah I'm using it. I have it set to ultra and it does a decent job at clearing up most of the jaggies, but it would definitely work better if you could completely remove the default FXAA from the game
Wait how? did you use the dx10/11 one? That's what I did since I THIIIINK Sleeping Dogs is dx11 or 10 on PC and no changes were seen. Oh god I should have tried the dx9 one, if it turns out its a dx9 game I'm gonna slap myself.
KePoW said:Do a comparison with High, it looks good with the SSAA and it's the setting most people use.
Thanks for the effort on all the shots.
But I have to disagree with you on High/Extreme looking like "crap". I guess everyone has different tolerances on AA, I don't think there's much difference between SSAA and SMAA. Looks fine to me.
I read that general AA thread on GAF, and some people are seriously picky and anal (no offense).
Tried it. Didn't work for me. Really annoying! It's becoming the only thing I see when I'm driving around.
The high res textures are completely breaking this game for me. They literally stop steaming in and when I reach that point I fall off into nothing. Sometimes it'll stop cutscenes from loading too. I don't understand why? It runs perfectly with them on then just...stops loading them. I'll switch them off and instantly the textures and land loads up again.
Now I have to keep them off if I want to even play.![]()
Have you tried verifying the game cache in steam?

It says 1 failed to be verified and is now downloading a 3.4gb file. I'm guess that's the HD pack. It mustn't have installed properly the first time. I hope this fixes it. Thanks for the tip.
Sounds like you run out of video memory. What card do you have?
What problems?
Nothing too shocking, here:

good to know the exact details on my custom resolution's refresh rate, though, lol
Someone tell me if it looks like the HD texture pack is installed correctly judging from these:
Did you set SLI up correctly ( right bits ) considering you can take screenshots?
I haven't messed with SLI. What do you mean considering I can take screenshots?

It has 1.2gb of memory and the HD textures need 1gb. I get 50-60fps the entire time and it doesn't say I'm over the memory limit in the menu.
I have the XML file open ready to do some tweaking.
Does anyone have a list of values for the different settings?
For example:
<AAQuality>0</AAQuality>
<SSAO>0</SSAO>

Both of those settings (and more) are in the game itself. Why would you need to change it in a XML file?

Sometimes a game will allow you to increase quality above what is available in-game.
Ah ok, true.
Sethos, that was fixed in 1.4
Nope, it wasn't.
Still happens for me.
Still going with that. That sucks dude. Have you tried reinstalling the game?
Absolutely, opinions differ wildly on AA but if you think whatever method you're using looks fine then there's really no problem.

Haha. It's funny to think that you've developed such an incredibly AA spotting expertise... with the end result that you're annoyed by most implementations of it.
Chiming in to say thank you thabiz. I'm fairly certain (touch wood) the 305.67 revision has cleaned up 99% of my day time stuttering. I get very, very slight irregular stutter for a single frame every now and then, but it's the usual game jank I expect. The consistent day time stutter has otherwise been completely fixed, at least for the areas I tested it in. I still get a FPS drop, as expected, from the shadows/lighting, but no more stuttering.
Anyone else having trouble getting Fraps to work with the game?
edit: lol nevermind, I just figured out that it was SMAA Injector that doesn't work with Fraps.
Just popping in to say that I think those dev 305.67 drivers do the trick for stuttering. I need to play more to make sure but it feels good so far.
