Small changes you'd like to see in Destiny

Hit markers shouldn't be triggered by grenade damage. Vortex grenades make the crosshair light up like crazy, it's silly how long it can keep blinking even after leaving the combat area.

The biggest thing I want is to be able to show people that you want them to join my fireteam. For example if you're dancing and you can toggle a banner to appear above you saying "REQUESTING FIRETEAM MEMBERS" so that people can come up to you and join you
It would also be nice if you could indicate what activity you're interested in when you show up on friends lists. Right now it's kind of hard to judge whom you should try to invite for a quick Crucible match or that infamous all-day endurance run Raid.

Being able to see what activity a fireteam is going to do when you get an invite. It's usually been PVP, but it's a mystery until you actually join.

FOV seems rather narrow, it'd be nice to up it a bit.
More ammo, secondary/heavy. I can understand limitations for PvP but elsewhere I don't want to scavenger hunt while being shot at or farm. Secondary is usually plentiful I suppose, aside from in that strike.
Attack rating is an awkward stat when grouped in with the other ratings. Could use more clarification.
Weapon balance, obligatory hand cannon and pulse rifle remark. Shotguns seem to drop off far too fast and high recoil makes some guns useless.

- Ability to revive teammates in PVP
- Make vehicles in PVP less powerful.
- Reduce the amount of time it takes for a super in PVP. A super needs to be something you would use scarcely and wisely, not something you use to kill a single person.

Excluding stuff that I'm 100% sure will be fixed in the final release, like putting in an actual story:

-Smarter strike bosses; as it stands, they're both pretty much just damage sponges.
-More customization options (shading your armor really shouldn't be a max level only activity).
-Balance the weapon classes. As things stand, if you're not using an AR in PvP, you're out of your mind. Scout rifles just are decent, pulse rifles are bad, and hand cannons are outright garbage.
-Mars map needs to be rejiggered, it's way too easy to hold B & C simultaneously right now.
-More visual variety in the weapons and Sparrows. This is a more general complaint/worry, and some people might disagree with me, but right now it kind of feels like we're going to get bored of the visuals long before we hit 20. Each gun class has at most 3 unique models (less for special weapons), judging by both what's been available so far and what we see in the shops. Everything else is a palette swap or a piece of Exotic gear.

Nerf all the supers, all of them, like to the point where they only disable the target's shields. Make them only devastating if you can coordinate with your team.

I would also like a bit better ammo system. Either as I upgrade my weapon I get to hold more bullets and get better economy (Ala Warframe) or I just get better ammo drops. Because I feel with the bullet spongeyness of some bosses it's merely a delaying tactic.

Also allow us to find things that increase weapon exp. Because sometimes breaking in a new gun takes too long.

Also helm desplay option. If I have bright pink hair let my foes see it!

dedicated servers on PS4/for all.
Don't nerf the Inceptor, but make it much more easier to snipe the driver.
vehicle jacking
Offline PvP
Fight for the power weapon team slayer.

All for PvP of course.

EDIT: facial piercings would be great as well.

Weapon trading/gifting within the game. I play more than others so I get duplicates of good weapons. Instead of dismantling them it would be nice to trade/gift them to other players. As of now I have close to 150 weapons parts so far.

An optional display for your HUD that pops up a little symbol next to your crosshair when your grenade/throwing knife etc. are ready.

a big list for small changes. includes bugs.

  • The pointing emote should have a greater purpose. Let players point to weak points on the bosses so players know what to shoot at.

Fuck no.... it is part of the gameplay to search for weak points and the feedback in attack points is far more than enough info to find weak spots

1: Item drops create a ray of light that shines up to the sky and appear on your radar. They can be way too easy to miss.

2: (This will take a lot of time to make though) Create a mode similar to Diablo IIIs Adventure Mode where you go through and do five objectives and get a large reward afterwards. This way when you are trying to get new items and money you aren't just wandering around aimlessly.

3: Change enemy respawn distance and time. Enemies should not respawn a minute after you saw them in the same location.

4: Lower the difficulty of Captains, Wizards, and Boss Characters in the shadow zones. When I play through the game on hard, fighting the average enemies is slightly challenging and feels right. On normal, they are too easy. So naturally I played the game on hard. However, when you get to one of those shadow "no respawn" sections, everything is just way too buffed and has way too much health. It is too big of a jump from normal enemies to these powered up ones and the game becomes impossible unless you want to shoot at a tank for half an hour and try not to get hit a few times by it or one of its enemies. Because of this I have to play through the game on normal, which is boring.

5: Explain the item system in the game and what rare, uncommon, and legendarys are.

6: Chests need to be more visible to players and should be able to spawn anywhere, not just in set locations inside dark buildings.

7: On Xbox One be able to add or join a friends fireteam without having to use the party application.

8: Allow you to skip cutscenes.

9: Smoother vehicle controls.

10: Harder feedback on the XB1 rumble triggers.

11: Holding down button commands are less than a second, not the 10-15 seconds the game makes you do.

12: Frequent item drops. In a game like Diablo you will constantly be getting item drops and 90% of them you either salvage into parts or sell but you always hope for that rare drop. In Destiny you really even get a common item drop and it feels like you are wasting your time fighting. Even glimmer is hard to come by. For an rng game based off getting items and currency, this game distributes both way too infrequently.

13: Have the option for consistent way points to be turned on instead of having to take the ghost out every 5 seconds.

14. Easy to understand and better laid out hub world with clear indication of what each store does.

15. Original undistorted voice work without the silly robot noises. If you played or watched videos of the alpha you can see how they used high quality unprocessed audio for the voice work. However in the beta they distorted his voice and added weird robot noises to make it sound more "robot like", I guess robots in the future can't handle high quality audio.

Now I just wanted to say that I think the final game will be quite different from the beta. The beta build of this game is a few months behind the current build at best and it is a lengthy process to make a demo, especially of this scale.

the option to allow random Hive or Fallen invasions during PVP matches
- make it an option where people can vote to allow it or not (it happens randomly)
- Overpowered Hive or Fallen invades the crucible - both teams are to abandon their current gamemode and try to repel the enemy forces. Points are still recorded for enemy kills and Team with highest kills get bonus at the end.

Seamless ability to change your characters without leaving a fireteam.

It's somewhat an annoyance that if I want to use a different character with a fireteam, I have to leave the fireteam, change my character, and rejoin.

To me this is a big one. You should be able to make character builds/loadouts. Can't tell you how many times I've spawned on a map with rocket launcher instead of machine gun or shotgun instead of sniper on a map where one or the other would be suited.

Additionally, you get stat bonuses for certain pieces of gear that compliment your character and weapons so you should be able to switch builds on the fly, for instance if you want a build with high strength vs high discipline, you should be able to switch to it at the beginning of the match right away, instead of having to mess with your gear.

Am I the only one who likes the voice acting? It feels relaxed and laid back instead of being overly dramatic. For a game I am going to play hours on end I would much rather have a laid back approach than a guy constantly getting too excited about everything.

If people don't like the lines or voice acting don't blame it on Peter, blame it on the people who directed him for this game. It is not like he chooses how his character is supposed to act in the game.

"they're in the WALLS!" had me laughing my ass off.

This was a pretty hilarious line, I have to say.

You can change your loadout in your inventory before the match starts, during the cutscene where the camera shows the map and your team appears on the map with the flag in hand. It's honestly plenty of time to quickly swap out guns.
Wasn't Joe Staten the primary writer for all things Halo? Including the good (Halo 2) and the utterly horrendous ( Halo 3's Sergeant Johnson vs. Guilty Spark) bit.

I'm not particularly excited for Destiny's story, but it's not downright offensive to me like it is for some other people.
Joseph Staten leaving Bungie is the best thing to happen to that studio in years.

I know you can switch stuff during the cutscene, and sure it's fine now when you just have to switch your guns, but like I said you'll have builds that increase your three stats (strength, discipline, intellect), you also have specific pieces of gear that compliment certain guns and you'll be standing still in your base looking for the right gloves that give you that faster reload speed or grenade cool down etc. You'll have different builds you'll wanna run for each map or a few of them at least,

If you forget and don't do it in the cutscene, you're stuck at the base fumbling through your inventory while your team needs you. And this is only with the very limited items we have now.

Being able to kill people while they do single player, like dark souls

Doesn't make much sense story-wise.

Changes I'd like to see:

  • Disable auto-launch to orbit at the end of the level. I'd like to remain to see if I've missed any loot.
  • In the character creation screen, allow the allow the manipulate the camera so that they can have a better view of the model that they're crafting.
  • Allow skipping of cut-scenes.
  • Increase visibility/cues of team-mates and loot/items.

Yes! All that is required is a simple "Hold triangle to end mission" or something, instead of the timer.

I mentioned it before but I'm not sure if it was in this thread

Some sort of penalty for death. The "no respawn" areas it's mostly fine. They should put a limit on the amount of respawns you get though. Like 5 or something. During explore you should lose money or exp (unpopular I know) when you die. For the public events, the respawn timer should be changed to 20 seconds on top of other penalties.

Not much of a point to add to face customization when you rarely see faces to begin with. Aside from the Tower.
Maybe on your profile card thing your character hold his/her helmet in their hands or something.

I'd like to name each of my three guardians. Not like a registered name system, but something to keep them organized and personalized for me.

Also a slider for choosing colors rather than a list of colors would be neat.
Amazes me that this is standard on so many PC indie games where colors options exists you can make any color say like Blade Symphony and the Distance Alpha. But for a AAA console game... NOPE... ok... Bungie. Be like that.

Am I the only one that wants some class specific weapon stat changes? Nothing major, but enough to separate the classes even more.

Some examples:

Titan - High strength helps them to withstand the hard kick on shotguns and handcannons.
Hunter - Built in helmet optics make them zoom even greater with scout and sniper rifles.
Warlock - Understanding of "space magic" make them enhance the fusion effect on fusion rifles and... something else that I haven't thought of yet.

At this point, anything to differentiate the classes further would be fine by me.

being able to purchase items from the shops using your glimmer through the phone app would be cool. for the times you're not around to play and get items before a refresh.

What if they give you the ability to dodge/null supers, which uses the same charge meter as the super?

For example, if an enemy titan/warlock comes at you with their super... you can activate the anti-super ability, go into a defensive shell mode that lasts a second or so and survive the encounter.

And in the case of an enemy hunter, since it's hard to time the activation of the anti-super against the golden gun, it should be even more rewarding. It could ricochet the golden bullet back at the hunter for example.

Just brainstorming, but I can't see how this wouldn't make the game even more enjoyable and balanced.

No, I don't like this at all. One of my favorite things about this game is the fact that I don't need to be a certain class to get most out of the weapons I like. Every class being equally effective with all weapon types means that there will be a greater variety of playstyles.

Also be careful when you ask Bungie to nerf things like supers, a game that is nerfed too much will eventually become stale. Players asking for nerfs are hardly the most objective group of people.

Most of my complaints have been said. As for others, shrink the range of both the Warlock and Titan supers, and make it possible to kill/stop their supers during the animation. You can kill a hunter while they go super, others should be the same.

You can kill all of them while they go super. Hunters really need to stop implying that their super is fine and the others are bad. All of them give you instant, pretty much unpreventable kills.

Agreed. The difference between classes is great enough. Bungie has said from the start that they don't want certain classes to feel like they should be limited to certain weapons, which I think is a great decision.
