Yes, yes, that's clearly it. Sit on your throne with your burger king crown and reign over everyone else.

So if he's the e-King then does that make you the e-sheriff?

I want to be the e-mayor.

So this thread changed from arguing about Krystal being in Brawl to arguing about a Slime being in Brawl since the last time I read it.

I suppose it's an improvement. :/

Actually, now we're talking about which loser with the high post count is the biggest loser.

Proves my point. Lame as hell. He will look even lamer with a brawl-style makeover.

Thats the pacman everyone knows and loves. Making mistakes like playable pacman, slime or goomba will cheapen brawl IMO. Reserve them for assist.

Oh Alberto, what happened to you? I remember the days when you used to say things that weren't dumb.

I don't want to be here on the weekend after she-who-shall-not-be-named is announced. Blimey, can you imagine the carnage =x
Nah, now that furry pictures are officially banned it won't be so bad. A staff fighter in and of itself can only be a good thing.

Having played through all 3 Pac-Man World games, I have no qualms about Pac-Man being in the game. Is anyone bitching about Meta-Knight lacking variety in his moves?

Why? It's not like Sakurai hasn't taken a small character and made up moves to make them awesome for Smash Bros. I can't see why he can't do it again for Slime Knight and Pacman. I mean he made up moves for Captain Falcon and Yoshi is in the same category as slimes.

I found this comment while browsing the internet and thought it was funny:

"I don't think I can take any large-scale work for a while, so I doubt I'll suddenly become director on some grandiose project."

- Masahiro Sakurai, 2003

It makes more sense for pacman to retain the nostalgia factor by being a 2d assist trophy, wakka wakka intact.

Sheesh, is this entire thread populated by folks born in the 90s?

Pac-Man is the only third party character who deserves to be in this game. Mario and Pac-Man are the only truly legendary game characters (series/franchises) in the industry. Bunch of ingrates...

As far as a 2D "pie" Pac-Man goes, that would be a nice Final Smash.

I don't know if the fleabag would be a staff fighter. She never actually fights with a staff. It gets knocks out of her hand in the very first scene before she even knows whats going on and she doesn't get it again until the very, very end when she can't aim worth crap. Her only actual moves from the game are run, somersualt, throw barrel.... Captian Falcon was easier to work with.

Considering it's HER staff that Fox uses in the game, why couldn't they, you know, just use the moves that Fox does with it?

So, Weekend-Smashers, had the random idea for a fun little thing to tide us over until the regular guessathon on Monday. 32 hours to go!

With so many questions about the game, if you had the chance to interview the brilliant Sakurai, what are the top questions you'd ask?

It's not exactly game related, but I'd be interested in finding out the background story to the blog: where the idea came from, the writing of them, etc. And if he's as crazy as he seems.

I'd probably forget about Smash for a moment and ask how it was possible that the Kirby series went from Adventure (good) and the followup Super Star (brilliant classic) to Dreamland 3 (mediocrity defined). Like, were there any changes in the HAL team, or was it the case that the Super Star developers moved on to SSB, etc.

Pac-man's move set:
All of his standard attacks would basically be a copy of Mario since that's all they've given him since Pac-Man World.

Special Moves are:
B = Chomp, hold B down for wakwakwakwak
Up B = Flying Super Cape
Down B = Butt stomp
Forward B = Pac-Roll

Final Smash: Power Pellet - all other characters turn blue and contact with Pac-man equal instant-smash.

It could be done, but I'd still rather get Mega Man.

If Pac-man can be given limbs, I don't see why a slime can't.

Well, I can see Pac-man as a playable character. If they can give Ice-Climbers and Game and Watch a move-set, I can see Pac-man joining the Brawl. Alternate costume, Mrs. Pac-man....... Although that's kinda like cross dressing though.....

For slime... I dunno... I can see a wave of slimes coming out as a AT.... a character? Not so much... ):

Yes, lets add Pacman and Slime and the never ending staircase from Mario 64 and the talking trees from the Wizard of Oz.

While we're at it, lets add breakfast cereal mascots. Lucky the Leprechaun can throw marshmallows, Count Chocula can bite you with his chocolatey fangs, Toucan Sam and the Rappin' Rhino can work as a tandem team like the Ice Climbers, and that stupid Honey Comb monster can smash through walls like the Kool-Aid Man. Hey, lets add him too. Then they can all work together to bring down the evil Corn Flakes Rooster and the Honey Nut Cheerios Bee, only to find out that its Captain Crunch who's been pulling the strings the whole time.
And while we're at it, I call Doug Flutie.

Come on people.

I wouldn't joke around, have you seen his commercials lately?

Fucker has some powers.

Like straight-up Megaman shit.

Each of his Marshmallows gives him a special ability.

Some of the predictions you guys come up with are ridiculous. It's pretty obvious who the next confirmed character is going to be.

Phil and Lil's dad from Rugrats.

THAT IS THE BEST IDEA I HAVE EVER HEARD

The Trix Rabbit, Lucky, the Honey Nut Cheerios Bee, all of the mistreated cereal mascots who have been deprived of home, property, and food, by kleptomaniac gluttonous children, should unite against the forces of Tony the Tiger, Capt. Crunch, Toucan Sam, and the Rice Krispies Elves.

Oh, and that dog from Cookie Crisp. HE WAS A ROBBER'S SIDEKICK, THEN HE WASN'T. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE COP AND ROBBER!?

My theory: they both died in a bloody cereal factory shootout, and the dog was so traumatized that he gave up his life of crime.

Oooh, all the tension! I can't wait till Brawl is released. You could all like, brawl it out, and send everyone a copy of the first three minutes!

OK, about KOS-MOS...Do Monolith still own Xenosaga and the character? Because since Monolith is Nintendo now, and Monolith love their KOS-MOS....
More to the point, KOS_MOS has now appeared on a nitnendo console, with that DS remake, so it could happen.

Pac Man is a fucking legend. He has plenty of moves. Let the old man get his day in the sun.

Stop.

The Sakurai ninjas are probably reading this thread. Don't give them any bright "commercial tie in" ideas. Best go back to peaching the good Belmont name.

(mmmm...sugar smacks)

Oh God, are you trying to make them bring back the Nintendo Cereal System? And use that as a basis for a cereal mascot fighter?

...That's not a bad idea...if the Trix Rabbit is high tier...

As an assist trophy just like superbank said, yes.
:D

You are going to get the weaker-minded posters convinced Pac-Man will be appearing as an assist trophy.

All the better to shock them when he appears in all his 3D glory.

Incidentily, how many different Pokemon popped out of the Pokeballs in Smash Bros and Smash Bros Melee? It would probably help to determine how many to expect in assist trophies.

I want them to use this model. I really like the WW ganondorf model, but Ganondorfs TP model is the best one. This is what they'll probably end up using.

If they're going to make him transform into Ganon for his final smash, then they should make him transform into ganon from Twilight Princess. Its the one thats most relevent to the ganondorf TP model and its the nicest look ganon model too. I'm really not sure if they'll make a ganon transformation as Ganon's final smash though. They;re already making Bowser transform into giga bowser, so manye they dont want to give another character a very similar final smash.

By now I'm half-expecting that he's surpassed his original vision. But maybe I'm just being optimistic. >_> Mostly because I want Lloyd (not for Lloyd himself--don't like him one bit--but for the hopes of Fighting of the Spirit making it into Brawl) and he's something like a third-rate third-party character as far as the lineup goes.
Lloyd? please keep him out of this game. I'm actually a fan of ToS; I thought the tgameplay was really good, but most of the characters pissed me off so much. The script felt so cheesy and their voice acting didnt help. To be fair, not all of them were bad, infact there were some really good characters like kratos and zelos. Now I wouldnt mind seeing one of those two in it, but I doubt its ever going to happen. I dont think we've got much chance of any namco character being in th game actually,

Wow.. The conversation really degrades when we have nothing good to talk about...

I, personally, would not like Pac man in Smash. He could be justified being there, and, hell, with the variety of characters that've made it in, he certainly can.

I wouldn't like him there, though.

What are the chances of getting a something related to Holloween this week? I can't think of any updates that would relate to it other than the Kirby FS and Ashley theme that we already got.
