:lol @ the delay paranoia this thread.

Sucks if it happens to come true. Id be REALLY pissed mainly because of the fact that it would be incredibly last minute. If we knew 2-3 weeks ago it was gonna be delayed i wouldnt be as mad.

Chotto matte! You can't make fun of Japanese like that. :(

I'm allowed to totally butcher it Engrish style, though. Maybe I'll use that for tonight's statistics report gimmick.

A delay at this point would make no sense, especially with the Japanese launch a week and a half away and the US launch less than a month away. We would have at least seen something on one of Nintendo's release lists or the Dojo change to TBA if a delay was happening at this point. Titles this big DO NOT get delayed this close to launch, especially when they are known to be completed. Nintendo has also been pretty prompt getting their big games out in the US even if they require a fair amount of translation, which Brawl does not.

How could they not be prepared when they know the huge demand for the game, and they've had all sorts of extra time with the last delay? :/

Well, I'd say the delay isn't really relevant, as whether they have enough copies for the release day or not depends on when the game went into print.

Do you know about the delay like I know uh oh isn't in the game, or do you know like SuperAngelo64 knows uh oh is in the game.

That's what I wanna know.

Hypocrite!

Confirmed.

I refuse to give away more information on my current circumstances or my source. NDAs are serious business.

Either I'm right, or I'm some cockbag motherfucker who desperately needs validation on an internet message board who everyone will forget about because he'll be banned for three months.

Time will tell, yeah?

Edit: Is that a spaghetti-O?

I think the next SSB should be a DS game, and be made in the next two years.

If any thing, I want the DS game to be one that could actually do more to focus on what Sakurai seemingly wanted to focus on in the first place...action-platforming with a story.

Let the "big brother" on the console continue to do what it does well, while the DS game could be something else entirely.

It makes quite a lot of sense if you think about it. Not WHY they are delaying the game, but if you look at the writing on the wall, I think its easy to conclude that the game is delayed.

lolol evry1 beleeve in sp0rsk cuz he lives in JAPAN so HE must hav SAUCEO.O!!!

WOWEEE DESU ^-^!

While I do believe in sp0rsk a bit more than most of the people here, I'm not going to go believing everything he says just because of his location.

You should probably not use location as a basis for believing or disbelieving anyone, we have these things called phones now, they're fucking amazing.

Yeah, but credibility of the user in question should be a basis. Random vs recognized poster.

I can't believe I understood what that means. I also can't believe I read it in the typical anime girl with balled up fists in an annoying voice way that I've heard it most of the time.

Isn't confirming it will be delayed at all already breaking an NDA? So at this point why does it matter if you reveal more details?

Did your source cite a reason for the delay? Or when it would be announced?

Holy crap, I did too :lol

Yeah, see, I was about to say "chotto matte yo" because I pictured it the same way, but then I looked it up and realized that didn't mean what I thought it meant while taking the "yo" off did make it mean what I thought it meant and stuff.

Distant planet!

Also DELAY :(

Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we’ve had to change the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th.

I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience.

Man, they're updating early these days.

Jan. 15 Tue. 2008

Distant Planet

Pikmin’s protagonist, Captain Olimar, was forced to make an emergency landing on this unexplored planet.

Let’s just call it the Distant Planet for now, shall we?

The flooring in the middle of the stage is made of vines and is very bouncy.

As you play, you’ll see numbered Pellets fall from the Pellet Posies around the stage. Grab one of these and throw it into a nearby Onion to get items.

Here’s a Pellet and an Onion.

Also, this planet experiences frequent torrential downpours. When things get wet, you’ll want to stay away from the hill on the left, as it gets pretty treacherous.

Whoa, that’s some fierce rain right there!

Oh yeah—there are some fierce creatures prowling the area, so watch your step.

You sure it’s safe to stand there?

... ... What am I saying. Of course it’s not safe. Anyhow, take care that you don’t get gobbled up.

The level of facepalm I reached from you two is beyond everything.

Delay confirmed

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome looking stage. I was hoping that the onions would be incorporated into Pikmin and olimar's opening sequence.

Delay WTF!

wow

why?

wow

I'm sorry, my paymasters, but I must break my NDA. I'm only in the know about the North American dates.

The game has been delayed.

Don't read if you don't want to be spoiled.

United States of America
March 9, 2008

Canada
No one gives a shit. You all live along the border anyways, and even if you do live thousands of miles away its worth the drive.

You're not the only one...

VegaShinra said:
Well from what I've heard, the delay is only for Canada.

This would be infuriating, I'd take a trip to Seattle for a copy.

EDIT: WHATNO

Where did all this delay talk start? I find it silly, really, but maybe that's because I missed out on "that" key piece of information. Why would Nintendo delay the release in America if the game is still slated to make the Jan. 24th release in Japan? There are no other games coming out between now and February 10th that could in any way catalize the sales of SSB:B, the localization, as evident by the Dojo blog, is completely up to speed, all signs point to go and...

I'm just confused. It's too late to announce a delay now. The game is less than a month away and you really expect them to pull the plug and say, "LOL FUCK YOU WORLD! JAPAN RULZ!"? I don't.

But please, if I'm wrong, point me to your paranoid rumor.

EDIT: Fucking figures THE INSTANT I HIT "post," the site gets updated.

FUCK YOU, WORLD.

EDIT #2: I'M FUCKING ENRAGED RIGHT NOW. I want to cry. I was so excited. Less than a month away. What the fuck. Oh god. The tears just aren't coming. The tears just aren't coming!

I wouldn't mind a side-scrolling action game. In fact, it'd be pretty fucking sweet.

Another idea would be an SSBTCG, which would be really easy to make characters into... well, character cards.

Hell, am I the only one who could see SSBTCG being bigger than PokéTCG?

Delay in Japan also to 31st of January?

Ugh, the delay's bad enough, but the Japanese date's the same. That's just that much longer to be trying to resist the spoilers :(.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo! My life has no meaning anymore (at least for another two whole months)

At least the Pikmin stage looks nice.

It's so cruel that when we were originally two months away from the release of the game, they push it back two months.

Then we are a month away and they push it back another month.

There is no excuse for this. I don't care about production problems or shortage problems... everything should have been planned and in line. Yes this is emotion speaking, but it really doesn't seem that difficult to be able to actually launch a game on time when you ALREADY RESET the launch date once!
