Pit wasn't shooting at Fox and Diddy. It was two scenes spliced together. Bowser was the one that shot at them with one of those weird trophy guns.

I don't think I've made a prediction for today.

Thursday to snap because it's only had two character profiles to this point. Luigi/Jigglypuff/Captain Falcon/Ness quadruple character megaton for sure, surpassing Monday, Tuesday, and Friday all in one shot. :D
 
Hmm... my usual new stage/music prediction won't work tonight... So I'm gonna say it's either an AT or some new mode/gaming mechanic.

It makes me wonder how the Pokemon Trainer will be incorporated into the Subspace story.

Jiggy had previously speculated that the Trainer wouldn't be involved at all. But now that it looks like he might, the question becomes what his role may be. After all, while he may be using three starters, he's not exactly using tournament-level high-tier Pokemon here. So it would be implausible if he was some great Trainer sent to help deal with the Subspace threat. So how might such a broad, general character be included?

Myself, I think he'll be the "everyman" sort of character. An ordinary Pokemon trainer who decides to pitch in and help bring the Subspace Army down.

Thanks! :D i've been trolling gaf for around 6 months but have never posted anything lol. To keep my post relevent, i really hope there is a new character for todays update, hopefully something new (one of the semi-confirmed ones from the spoiler thread).

I agree, he's basically got to be an everyman or I don't see it being too believable. If they had put Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard in as separate characters of their own, that would have worked out (although then people would complain endlessly about Pokemon getting too much representation, even though technically it has the three characters either way), but since that's not the case--well, again, everyman or bust.



Also, after seeing Mushroomy Kingdom I want a dilapidated Victory Road or something like that. :o Like, maybe Pokemon Trainer is coming back to a region that was only used for Pokemon battles in the distant past.

My life is a lie if Rollout-using Jigglypuff can't canonically just about keep pace with an F-Zero machine. ;_;
(No, seriously. I went into training mode in Big Blue (so it wouldn't affect game statistics for self-destructs) and got Jigglypuff to use Rollout onto the track. It was fun. >_>)


Edit: The other thing I wanted to do that I never got around to was seeing whether Rollout could outrun Fox's laser. Since the movement would be so fast at that point, I guess it would have to be done in 1/4 speed training mode to really test it, but I'm curious whether Jigglypuff can literally move faster than the speed of light.
 
I just think it's so clear that this is the SSB game that Sakurai was trying to make with Melee. Melee was obviously amazing, but seemed incomplete as far as the single player was concerned. I remember being disappointed that the awesome CG intro, which seemed to show clips from some greater storyline wasn't reflected at all in the actual game.

I love the idea of developing a game as if it's the last in the series. I'm really glad this wasn't rushed out for Wii launch, which it could easily have been, and probably have had a single player component on par with Melee.
 
There won't be anymore character updates on the dojo.

Every revealed character is on the starting roster, minus Sonic and Snake. Why would Sakurai want to start spoiling secret characters?
 
Based on videos, can someone take a guess at who will be top tier(For fun, no need to get into what such a list incorporates, etc). I would guess Kirby and Meta Knight would be up there.
 
I dont know how people are complaining about this roster. Not just here but everywhere. We have 12 great newcomers and alot of characters returning which was never a gaurentee. We can't have EVERY character we could have wanted. Sit back and think how much this game has and dont be greedy. :D

I don't care much for the tiers list, but I'd expect to see Lucas getting back Ness' former glory spot thanks to the updated moves.

At the very least he'll start updating them again after release. That's what happened with Melee. If we're really lucky he'll reveal some of the unchanged unlockable veterans earlier. Jigglypuff and Luigi would be better than nothing, but I'm not betting on it.

IAWTP.

Probably going to be stage and maybe some game mode updates until the japanese release. There's nothing wrong with that, especially if they reveal an all-star game mode sometime soon.
