Don't care, none of my mates have it yet and I'm not playing random matches with the great unwashed that is Smash Bros pro players.

Well. We've certainly gone full circle.

From listing our starting songs, back to the first day's list of all the musicians to savor over.
And now from "The Basic Rules" to basically, How to get Started.

Though, I wonder what this leaves us... are we still getting daily updates?
Is it sporadically random now? What I say??
 
Same Jiggy. Changing to Stock was always a pain. Same with changing to Friendly Fire on for team matches.

I'm still hoping that Zero Suit Samus is an unlockable or something or I won't be using her much at all once I get bored of Final Smashes.
 
I would have went BONKERS for this update if not for all the leaks we already had! :(

This was the very first thing I thought. It's going to be SOOOOOOOOOOOO lame if you truly cannot select ZSS from the start :( No ZSS playable when smash balls are turned off? Seems like a huge huge oversight...
 
On a happier note and so that we can at least get some joy out of tonight, this comes from the last Iwata Asks (and Iwata Asks has been linked to by the Dojo, so I think it should be safe territory for this thread, and needs to be read since more people visit here):

The item screen is nice, as is choosing your pokemon. These are things the leakers didnt look at

However, while the quick stock/time change is nice, I hope there are more ind epth options, like stock with time limit.

Actually I believe the "select your Pokémon" thing was leaked last night. This update is one of those that just has to be there, though, ya know?
 
I'm disappointed by the random thing. :/ I often used it in Melee when I couldn't decide which of my eight mains/secondaries (Jigglypuff, Falco, Luigi, Ganondorf, Dr. Mario, Captain Falcon, Pikachu, Ice Climbers) I wanted to use: I'd just select randomly and go with whoever it landed on first.

With Brawl adding Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Pokemon Trainer, and probably buffing up Zelda, I would have just as much of an issue this time around even if they removed Falco, Ganondorf, and Dr. Mario and Captain Falcon--and I've always said that I think Doc's the only one of those who's leaving the roster. Possibly Falco too, but probably not. And then there's still the possibility that I'll actually like some of the characters who aren't on the Dojo, and/or that I'll end up really enjoying some of the characters I've kind of written off.

I guess I'll just have to play each of my ~15 mains/secondaries every time I turn on the game, or something. D:

Edit: And that's not even counting Charizard and Ivysaur separately. D:

Actually, someone who played the store demo confirmed that.

We just didn't know it applied to Zelda/Sheik as well, since she wasn't playable in a regular multiplayer battle then.

I did say mains/secondaries. :P Brackets = unconfirmed for Brawl.

Mains: [Jigglypuff], Meta Knight, Kirby
Secondaries: Zelda, [Captain Falcon], King Dedede, Ivysaur, Charizard, [Ganondorf], [Falco], Ice Climbers, [Luigi], Pikachu, Sheik


Edit: And I had gone back and edited my figure up to 15 to account for the unknown characters.
Edit 2: I forgot Sheik! D: I want her as a secondary too now that she's probably not broken like before.

I'm one of those people who like to use a random character and I am most pleased with the change. In melee and other fighting games that told me what the random character is sometimes I'd get someone I'm terrible with and wuss out. This way I go into battle with no regrets.
 
I'm not terrible with Link, Donkey Kong, Fox, or Yo--well, with the first three, anyway. It's just that I hate their fighting styles and don't want to play them. >_> Same with Wario probably, although obviously I have no idea how good or bad I am with him yet.
 
There had BETTER be some way to use Zero Suit Samus at the start of the match. If there isn't, that's a terrible decision on Sakurai's part.
 
I bet Deku Nuts will stun opponents for a few seconds if they're within a certain distance. Just in case that wasn't completely obvious.

Ugh. Anyone else keep accidentally (honestly!) clicking the spoiler thread, instead of this thread? Luckily a lot has died down by now so I didn't get spoiled too much, but I can't be alone...

Yes, I've done that a few times, but thankfully realized it, averted my eyes, and closed that tab before seeing anything. It gives me hope that people are saying that all the new stuff they're learning is sapping their appreciation for the dojo updates, though. I was sort of worried that the dojo had given most of the good stuff away.

I'd love to see a spoiler-free impression thread, though.
 
It's the 37th game mode, there are no days of updates left before the Japanese release, and that's it. Nothing else to say. Really.
