Havent finished the show but been very pleasantly surprised by it. Been bored with most of the new shows the past months on Netflix (outside HBO) but very refreshing with Sneaky Pete. Definitely agree with what many have said, one of the better Amazon shows. Have had difficulty enjoying most of their originals. It has a lot of charm to it and humour.

Just finished the series, one of the best I've seen in a long time. The story was extremely captivating, excellent casting, brilliant performances (especially by Ribisi, Cranston and Martindale) and as diehard King of Queens fan it was exciting to see Victor Williams in a more prominent role after such a long time. After being massively disappointed by the last Amazon series I've watched (Goliath, which I found extremely mediocre, except the staggering performance by Billy Bob Thornton), Sneaky Pete convinced me to not write off Amazon's television efforts just yet.

I caught the pilot back when Amazon was their new shows. It was good, and I voted for it, but it really narrow in scope and I was afraid of how they could build on it. The second episode was a much better show. Big cast of characters. Fleshed out backstories. Good stuff. I'll check out the rest.

Wow, episode 9 was tense. That was some of the best television I've seen. And right off, episode 10 is shaping up well. Cranston can do no wrong (on things he helps develop).

Edit: Wow this ending! All
Ocean's Eleven
out of nowhere.

My wife and I just binged this. It really scratches that Justified itch - very Elmore Leonard in tone, and with Yost involved, that's not surprising. Crazy great performances by the entire cast. Bring on S2....

I went on a Justified binge watch shortly after finishing Season 1 of Sneaky Pete. You can definitely feel the influences, especially after the pilot episode.

Watched this over the last week and enjoyed it a lot. It reminded me of the BBC show Hustle but with one episode spread over an entire season.

The only thing that I was disappointed with (unless I missed it) is that
the parole officer just vanished halfway through the season. I liked how they set that character up but there was no payoff at all.

Binged through the entire season, thought it was just ok. It felt like a 3 hour story stretched over 10 hours. The first 5 episodes were really just not good and it was quite a struggle to keep going. The last 2-3 episodes though were great.

Its funny the previous poster mentions Hustle, I thought that was a much better con man TV show even though it usually neatly wrapped everything up every episode, it just felt flashier and fun. I get that Sneaky Pete is going more for "realism", but it felt like Pete was never in control of anything and never planned things very well.

Maybe I just don't like Giovanna Ribisi, I don't get how the guy keeps getting jobs. He was the weakest part of the show, he had zero charisma or charm, I couldn't really believe at any point he was a guy who could actually win anyone's confidence, and he was always making that stupid "Here is my Godfather impression" face. I have zero understanding why everyone on the show was so desperate to always help him.

Everyone else was pretty good though, Martingale and grandpa were fantastic as was Bryan Cranston. I loved Justified but this never really felt like another version of that type of show. The finale felt so rushed.

Just powered through this.
The writing got somewhat hamfisted in places, and some of the twists weren't super elegant, but damn i enjoyed it a lot.
Loved Ribisi, Cranston and the rest of the cast.

I also am annoyed by the
sudden vanishing of the Parole Officer
, hope he comes back in S2.

Looking forward to season 2.

John Ales Set To Recur In Season 2 Of Amazon Drama Series

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll alum John Ales is set for a recurring role opposite Giovanni Ribisi in Season 2 of Amazon drama series Sneaky Pete.

Ales will play Luka Delchev, who emigrated from Montenegro in the late ’90s, toward the end of the Balkan wars. Rumor has it he stole many millions from a UN peacekeeping force and left a string of dead people in his wake. He’s a funny guy, loves to laugh and is exceptionally brutal. His weapon of choice is sulphuric acid. There is something almost mystical about his ability to avoid being murdered by his rivals.
