Anyone upload any of the kaizo mario hacks? think i might fill my JP console with hacks only if they work
What does this mean? Once hackchi gets updated/released we won't have to worry about this sort of thing, right? Some of these patches come in packs for headered and non-headered ROMS.
How can you tell which one to use for your ROM?
Correct. Lot of people are new to this with the SNES it seems since there were so few NES.What does this mean? Once hackchi gets updated/released we won't have to worry about this sort of thing, right?
Did you tick "compression"?
Is that Jennifer Connelly?
lol I asked myself the same thing. Considering how many video game artists took "inspiration" from western actors, I wouldn't be surprised if that was, indeed, Jennifer Connelly.
Jennifer's name and appearance were inspired by Jennifer Connelly's character, Jennifer Corvino, in the 1985 movie Phenomena.
Wonder why this stock emulator is so choosy
Does the kernal need to get dumped first BEFORE I hit "install driver"?
I cant get it to work c7 error.
So a Jennifer based on a Jennifer player by a Jennifer. A triple Danza, if you will.
Nope, you need to install the driver in order to be able to dump the kernel in the first place. Installing the drivers is a prerequisite step, if you will. If you did the steps mentioned correctly (plugged SNES, held Reset, turned it on, the power light should NOT be on), just click install drivers and you're good to go.
How do I apply a patch to one of the built-in games? I want to add the updated translation to FFIII.
Thanks, but now I get this message:
Is that normal? Do I continue?
Had to go to another PC to avoid the error I was running into and I was able to transfer games just fine. But I noticed I missed a few so I went back and now the SNES doesn't turn on when plugged into the PC
Hope that helps
tried this, ending up soft bricking my snes so I had to delete the game to fix it. oh well.
I'm gonna wait till it is perfected. Still too many games to finish first but so excited at the games I can put on.
Quick question and sorry if it's been asked before. I want Snes Classic but don't know if I should get one since I already have a hacked Wii U. I mostly play RPG games.
How does the Snes Classic compare with Wii U vc or Wii U Retroarch? Is it the same or better?
Def better than Wii U. Gamexplain did a comparison: https://youtu.be/ocGdWRF84Q0
Is there any way to edit the image/thumbnails of the 21 pre-installed games? My menu is a mess.
This is a little trickier. You need to FTP into the machine (hakchi has the info you need in the Tools menu) and browse to /usr/share/games/. There you will find the preinstalled CLV-P-xxxxx games. Download those to your PC. (Make sure to set your FTP client to transfer only 1 file at a time, the SNES Mini really hates more than that)
Now copy those folders to hackchi's /snes_games/ folders where your custom games are.
Now restart hakchi and you will see they appear as custom games too alongside previous ones you added, so you will want to deselect the original 21. Now you have copies that you can work with, such as changing their box art and thumbnails.
There you go... A bit of work but it works
Just fight enemies as you encounter them as opposed to running away from them and you'll be fine.
Frankly, the same is true of most JRPGs. People just run away too much.
God bless Hakchi. It's doing everything I want it to now. I'm making sure to find the proper release dates and formatting and cleaning the hell out of the boxart to make sure it's in line with the official art. This little emulator box is going to be a curated box of phenomenal SNES/SFC games. Just gotta fix the size of the SFC games.
Finished adjusting the size of the small thumbnails so everything fits nicely! I also replaced the standard boxart with some neat 3D versions. Really happy with it.
Only at 38 games. Need to add some more gems.
Oh god. Just when I thought the most time-sink-y phase of tinkering wth the Mini SNES was over, Robin64 opened my eyes to the wonderful world of thumbnail creation.
Help, I'm addicted and it's 4:30 AM.
I think I've came up with my ideal game list once I get my SNES Mini in the mail.
I decided on list of exactly 50 games. The top 50 SNES games if you will. Now obviously this list mainly caters a lot to my tastes so some of the games here some folks may not agree with.
Including the default 21 games these are the remaining 29, I've decided upon.
01) ActRaiser
02) Axelay
03) Chrono Trigger
04) Demon's Crest
05) Donkey Kong Country 2 - Diddy's Kong Quest
06) E.V.O. Search for Eden
07) Final Fantasy IV
08) Gradius III
09) Harvest Moon
10) Illusion of Gaia (will probably use Retroarch to redirect to the default GUI if it can't be properly run natively through the built-in SNES Mini emulator)
11) Knights of the Round
12) Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals
13) Mega Man X 2
14) Mega Man X 3
15) Mortal Kombat II
16) Pilotwings
17) R-Type III - The Third Lightning
18) Secret of Evemore
19) Seiken Densetsu III / Secret of Mana 2 (same thing applies as like Illusion of Gaia)
20) Shadowrun
21) Soul Blazer
22) Sunset Riders
23) TMNT IV - Turtles in Time
24) Terranigma (same thing applies as like Illusion of Gaia)
25) Tetris Attack
26) The King of Dragons
27) The Legend of the Mystical Ninja
28) The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse
29) Top Gear 2
Now I'm undecided if I should remove Kirby's Dream Course from the list. I've played the game before, the odd mix of Golf and Billiards is interesting but the game in itself is not something I'd particularly care for in a top 50 list to be honest, so if anyone has a suggestion / recommendation to replace it on my list for the 30th game, I'm open to their opinion.
I've also modified some of the default included games for the sake of fixes and translations. (i.e replace FFIII with FFVI, use the Secret of Mana VWF version instead of the one included, use the uncensor / restoration patches for Contra III, Castlevania IV, etc)
Now seeing as there is a maximum list of games before their is some run off with the thumbnails on the side of the screen, I wonder with Robin64's alternative icons would allow me to avoid this issue.
Other than that I'm pretty much ready when I get my SNES Classic. I got my SN30 8Bitdo controller, and the wireless receiver.
The only thing left for me to do is get some decent box art for the Japanese to English translation stuff and more American style box art for some of the European and Japan only games.
