Are you buying the SNES Classic?I would be interested in playing a load more NES and SNES games on mine than they release with.
Why not release a NES 'cartridge' with bundles of NES games, then you could keep putting more and more out as time goes on for the NES mini.
Then do the same for SNES.
It's funny how it's $20 more expensive anyway. At least it comes with an extra controller.

I'm not up in arms. I'm just paying for the shell, and the 2 controllers at this point
Dual booting SNES mini would rock my world.Hackers have the SNES Mini firmware running on the NES Mini apparently. Pretty wild.

Ask that to hackers...If this is true how come I haven't seen anyone put any Roms besides nes and SNES ones on the nes mini? Why not GameCube if it's so powerful?
How are you going to argue that you have the original cartridge of the game here in Gaf??? Interesting...So this means the finished Starfox 2 ROM should be easily rippable from it right?
The power issue doesn't seem like a concern. What I'm more curious about is how they would run both NES and SNES games on the same type of hardware. I remember reading and interview from Eurogamer (I think?) where they spoke with a guy who made one of the most popular SNES emulators, and said that's it's very hard to do so, even with powerful PCs.
You answered your own question. That's exactly why they don't do this:Yeah, it's in transit now. Arrival tomorrow according to the postal service.

The same processor, storage and RAM sit on an almost identical mainboard.
They sold us the same thing again, but with different games?

What's the problem? NES Mini's components are quite capable, it only makes sense to use them for an N64 mini too.

Same thing, just a bunch of new roms on it, people buy it like stupid.
Sometimes I don't understand humans.

They'll have to make a very hacky emulator if ever, probably with custom tweaks per game. The hardware wouldn't do a great job at emulating N64 though.
How can you get all of this legally for the same price?Same thing, just a bunch of new roms on it, people buy it like stupid.

Really?Same thing, just a bunch of new roms on it, people buy it like stupid.
So how many SNES games could it store?
Hey there. Can you link me to the officially licensed reproduction of my favorite video game console of all-time, that easily hooks up to my TV right out of the box and comes with two reproductions of the original authentic controller? I want my stupid human brain to be enlightened before I willingly give money for a product I find attractive.Same thing, just a bunch of new roms on it, people buy it like stupid.

Why do we have to go through this raspberry pi talk everytime? We know it exists. We just want the nostalgia factor. Pi doesn't give us that.A Raspberry Pi can run everything from Vectrex all the way to Dreamcast on the same hardware.
Well that explains why they stopped selling the NES Mini...

And that too. Also they're gonna sell this thing as a family product anyways. Families aren't interested in no damn raspberry pi's.
I know mine isn't.
Cant wait to hear what you expected... Use your brain... Sometimes I don't understand humans.Same thing, just a bunch of new roms on it, people buy it like stupid.

Haha. That made me laugh. You're missing the point, Mr. Professionally Outraged. The poster was interested in how the same hardware is running both NES and SNES. The point is that the same hardware can run all kinds of legacy video game software.
Same thing, just a bunch of new roms on it, people buy it like stupid.

No, we can't. Sorry. Can all the people who failed to secure a SNES mini pre-order shut up about RasberryPis. It's getting real old. Everyone here knows what they are/where to find them.
