Angry Centaur Gaming Review.

Liked it a great deal. A couple issues but overall excellent fun and the nut shots never get old for me hahaha.

It does have a cover system, it just doesn't stick you to objects. But you do lean out of cover/corners if you're behind it to take shots.

I know, but it doesn't really count as one for me, and it's a very clumsy one as well with not much control.

But I really like the game nevertheless.

Got this downloaded and installed on the PS4 and went through that first mission a couple of times to experiment. Am running v-sync, custom difficulty with elite AI, realistic ballistics and moderate tactical assist (no aiming diamond, but can still tag enemies and see weakpoints on vehicles), and the thin, complex reticle (the last one) with vertical and horizontal dashes, and increased x-ray bone-shattering biological entropy.

I really only want to keep the tag-to-show-weakpoint tactical assist as I don't know the weak spots yet, but tagging and the minimap still feel a little like cheats. Also not going authentic difficulty because I don't want to be scared to experiment as I'm just starting off.

Gotta admit, even in the first enclosed area I've liked what I've seen. Enemy AI is cautious, quick to alert and STAY that way (does it ever time out and go back to normal? Hope not ;p), when alerted they'll bound, make good use cover and support each other.

Every rifle shot feels powerful, except when you whiff. With no aiming diamond I'm experimenting right now, but that first area didn't even seem to apply any bullet drop at those ranges. Of course when a shot lands it lands hard - took two shots to take down one moving soldier, but I was able to finish with an abdomen shot. Ouch.

The machinegun is inaccurate as hell, which is fine as I don't really intend on using it much if at all possible. And the silenced pistol is straight out of the last game, very close quarters, but effective for headshots, provided your shot doesn't PING off of their helmet.

Finally, loadouts and the ability to use those loadouts in replays along with secondary objectives mean I'm kindof in love at this point. All the parts work fine, at least so far. Its too late for me to start on mission two, as I'm planning on to take my sweet panther-stealthy time and take it all in, but am looking forward to sitting down to this during the week.

Played through the first mission earlier today. Really enjoyed it; the game feels like a huge step up from V2. It's also nice to be playing it at ~60FPS. I am however, thinking of starting over on Authentic difficulty, but the idea of no checkpoints makes think it might be better to wait for my second playthrough :p.

Ok this is one thing that ticks me off with the Xbox store. No pre order, no mention of this game even existing.. On PS4 I could have pre ordered it and have it downloading already.

I'm sure they'll catch up eventually. It does suck for now though.

i still really love this game, but more and more bugs are coming up and it looks like I'm not the only one :/

the german general outfit seems to bug for everyone in the multiplayer, or? because I played multiple times and I only can see his head, also an Let's Player commented, that she has the same problem :/

The enemies seems unfair at times... at least on Sniper Elite Difficulty. If I set a trap, sneak away ~50-100metres and the trap explodes, the enemies have instantly an alert on my new position, this doesn't seem right ôo

also this bug: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQNl5BREJmQ&feature=youtu.be&t=24s (in the upper right corner you can see the whole bug ~20sec long)

looks like karl's just dropping down from the sky after save and reload

I hope they'll fix some/all bugs "soon" :/

Does the game give you XP Points for not killing non-essential people or should I be killing everyone?

The game gets a lot better once you stop trying to ghost through a map and just go with the flow. I tried ghosting too but the rediculous AI made it way harder than it should be, and you actively miss out on XP and potential weapon upgrades by not killing Nahzees.

Once you realise there is no punishment for getting an alert and that alerts hardly change anything you'll use your rifle way more often.

I still reload a save when I get caught/alert a big group, but that's only because I want silent kills as often as possible.

As a Hitman fan I try to play almost all FPS style games as stealthy as possible, that means I don't get seen or heard by any enemies, for them I'm a ghost and I like to take my time and do it "right".

Which version are you playing?

There is a dial at the top of the screen which will show you the direction and strength of the wind.

I've still not figured this out myself. Hoping this topic gets a bit more action now its out in the USA.
I *think* its the meter on the top middle when you're aiming down the scope.

Not entirely sure since I had a separate problem in that the aiming diamond came back. Actually, my second session somehow reset my settings, so I had to set them all back up. Once I did so, even the "moderate tactical assists" setting included the aiming diamond, which it didn't for the first mission. I don't get why this is the case.

So if I want to play with no aiming diamond (because its boring to use a slow auto-aim) I have to set my difficulty to authentic or custom with zero tactical aids? And for some reason this works different for the first level?

One question on authentic - I realize that if you fail you start the entire mission over, but can I at least save the game if I need to leave it, or do I have to complete the entire mission in one go or lose my progress?

For those who preorderd on PSN store (U.S.), is Hunt the Gray Wolf DLC available for you ?

I can't select downloadable missions :/ Do you have to complete main campaign first to unlock this ?

Edit: Problem Solved !

On your PS4, go to Settings - PSN - Restore Licenses.

Loving the co op on this, shot a guard as he was walking past an open cellar door and he dropped right through it.

The mp however is great when you get into it but it takes about 8 failed attempts to get into a match I'm finding, hopefully they can sort this out.

Yes either authentic or zero tactical aids.

You can't save on authentic. However with the superior Xbox One version you can just put it in instant on and resume later. Hurry up Sony and get on that. Best feature of Xbox One.

Would have loved a shooting range to actually be able to learn to shoot. I'm horrid. :(

Ai seems broken to me. Audio too. :(

It's def greater than the sum of its parts though. Coop is a blast.

Having a sniper game with an "authentic" difficulty setting without a shooting range to practice actually firing a sniper rifle without indicators is kind of bizarre, I agree.

All shooters should include shooting ranges, but sniping games especially. Pretty sure Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 had one, and it was great. I had a lot more fun in that shooting range than in the campaign.

Agreed 100% I don't understand how this was overlooked.

It's definitely a bummer that the AMD codes for this game don't include the Grey Wolf DLC. The levels have impressed me enough so far though that I'll definitely pick up the season pass (which it's included in) when it goes on sale.

Oh and dat sweet bokeh porn.

Just finished the campaign and I enjoyed 95% of it. It does have issues at times but it is a lot of fun. It is an improvement over V2, which I also enjoyed.

Hopefully they'll do another set in more modern times. I'd love to blow guys apart with a .50 cal rifle. Or maybe something set in Vietnam

Vietnam would look phenomenal with their engine I think. It would be a delight creeping around pure jungle environments.

Goddamn it I wasn't going to get this unless they improved on V2's levels and here we are. Wallet is not happy.

Edge a 5? That's harsh. I played worst crap that got 5s and this is better than V2 and that was definitely not a 5 game.

This is why I sometimes hate reviews.

How's the replayability?
Is it worth going back into levels and trying to 100% them?
Is it fun or are the glitches too much to endure?

I'm trying to decide between picking this up or FIFA 14. One thing that'll kill a game for me is bad enemy A.I. and glitches/bugs and from what I'm reading, this one is hitting the trifecta.

MUnited83

For you.
The stupid bug that makes the last objective you blowed up blow up again when you reload a save is terrible. Just screwed me out of a level that I have to restart completely now.

So what's the verdict on this game on Xbox One? Got some credit and thinking I want to pick it up. Is the campaign a decent length and how does online multiplayer work?

I love it so much on PS4 I've just rebought It for Xbox one :p (wife is getting her own Xbox one in Sept so we bought it ready today).

Yea it has a few bugs but if you play it like a sniper game, as in kill once then move and shoot again it works fine. There's too many things to miss to ghost it. First shot they hide anyway it doesn't alert them of we're you are :

Replay ability wise there's loads to replay as the AI alters in patterns

Evolved1

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
So I bought this. My first impression is that it feels incredibly low budget. Not as far as visuals, I honestly don't even care too much about all that, but animation, locomotion, controls all feel bargain bin.

Some devs I guess just either don't have the talent or they don't care about this stuff.

This might be fun in co-op, but as far as getting any enjoyment out of the game otherwise, I don't expect much. The whole thing just feels too far behind in the areas that really matter to me.

I think that Rebellion can be described as a cheap cheerful developer. I think the only game they did with some polish was the previous sniper elite.
