So the Knack 2 Demo is... pretty damn good.

I never thought I'd say that. It's a pretty simple beat em up platformer but it actually is fun. I always saw the jokes about Knack being GOAT on here and the rest of the net as a joke but in all honesty I could totally see myself playing this with my girlfriend and I normally am not into kiddy games at all.

The combat isn't too in depth, but has enough there to make it enjoyable. The platforming was charming, fast, and simple to break away from the combat.

Graphically it's impressive at 60fps on Pro. Watching all his parts fall off was very neat and the game definitely has that Pixar feeling.

All on top of being $40, I think this game actually is a lot better than people will give it credit for. I wasn't interested in it at all before, glad they decided to give it a demo, I'd recommend trying it out.

It was awful op. Wtf are you smoking

I too gave in at downloaded the demo cause of all the knack 2 memes. Waste of 5 minutes right there.

I thought it was pretty terrible. The art direction and the character designs don't really do the game favors despite the frame rate. Might change when it's not during the night time, though.
Combat just isn't very interesting either. Feels like Sonic Unleashed Werewolf mixed with Skylanders. A bit harder than those two, though

...also not sure what platforming you're talking about. Outside of the rotating pillar thing there's not much there I'd call platforming.

The combat isn't too in depth, but can be challenging if you let your guard down so it isn't brain dead easy by any means.

What platforming? There was practically zero platforming in that demo. It was 95% combat arenas, 4% walking down a linear hallway, and 1% "platforming". I liked the first Knack but this was an awful demo.

There isn't much platforming in the demo, but I do like how you interact with making him smaller and bigger. I watched some demos from a few months back and there is a lot more platforming in those.

The demo we got is pretty obviously the beginning of the game so of course there isn't much there besides getting you used to the controls. But for a tutorial it wasn't bad at all.

Wouldn't call shrinking and getting bigger platforming. If there's good platforming in the final game, there wasn't any in the demo.

Knack isn't a platformer despite looking like one, either. It's more of an isometric beat-em up from my experience with the first and second.

If the combat gets deeper and more fun, I wouldn't know since it's just a demo. They acknowledge it and then give you a power up...but that doesn't change things up much either.

Like I said, it isn't incredibly in depth but I felt there was enough in the combat to make it a simple beat em up.

Watch the gameplay demos from a few months back and you'll see how shrinking plays into the platforming. It isn't done too much in this demo but further in the game you see it play out in more interesting ways.

What didn't you like about it?

I never played the first one but once you get the super punch and start messing around with the combos I found it pretty enjoyable with parrying and sliding around.

Explain?

It wasnt different enough from the first game, which already wasn't great.

It's like Cerny thought all the jokes were for real and just released a new version of the same game thinking people actually liked the first one.

Looking at the trailer, game seems to be much more diverse and fun than demo. Demo didn't showcase the game properly I think. The camera was too far for my liking as well. Overall very average demo.

OP. I'm with ya.
It's a very simple brawler, with 90s characters and just combat from room to room. Its a simple game, but its quiet enjoyable. I also played the first one, so this second one just enhanced it, didn't overcomplicate the combat etc. It's really good, and a likely day one for me at the lower price point.

Never played the first but the combat in Knack 2 is pretty fun, and the difficulty seems perfect based on the demo. Not too easy, not too difficult.

Loved the first game, this one is more of the same and I'm quite pleased with it.

Try the first game on a Pro, it also has a high framerate / 60fps mode.

I think the demo was terrible, so bland. :|

I quite enjoyed the first game but it was a terrible idea to showcase that level for the demo.

I went into this demo with the BIGGEST open mind possible we played it in co-op.... Still me and my lil bro couldn't believe we wasted our time playing this shit.

Absolute pass such a terrible game despite them trying their best to make Knack sequel better it's still so meh. Don't fall for the memes people. I'd rather get the next LEGO game or something instead

lmao wtf

Pretty accurate depiction of a Knack fan, I must say.
I believe he's making fun on the Knack fans

KNACK 2 BAYBEE: GAME OF THE YEAR

GAME OF THE YEAR

I honestly thought it was pretty bad. Combat felt stiff, and movement was super floaty. It also looks visually the exact same. I didn't mind the first Knack, but this one looks like a hard pass.

Still disappointed they didn't give Knack some cool sidekick named Knick so they could call the sequel Knick-Knack, a lost sale for me tbh

thank knack

....I like that idea.

It makes me sad seeing all these Knack haters.

Of course the game isn't some game of the year but I found it fun for what it was.
