Why is Knuckles wearing a cowboy hat?
Zero, Axel, Sigma, and Vile. Every major X character except X.
X truly just gets fucked over when it comes to crossovers for fuck sake.

Ken liked it so much in the OVA that he borrowed it for the near-future universe this is.
Don't stop there, we actually have Page 1 now
There's already a Knuckles expy in it, and none of the nonsense he wrote ever had anything to do with Sonic in the first place.
Did the OVA come out before the hat was in the Knuckles comic? I forget.
For the record, that isn't Knuckles.
*upside-down family tree*
Were the womenfolk of the Knuckles family just so incredibly boring that they didn't warrant any panels? Is that the implication?
Significantly. Even if you go by the much later NA release date, it has almost five years on the first appearance of future Knuckles here, which was Sonic #131.
So my question is, how come they didn't contractualize him or something? Also wouldn't technically working under a copyrighted franchise imply that all works created within that is owned by the copyright holder regardless if they are original ideas of the staff?
I fucking loved the Archie Sonic comics growing up, and absolutely adored that Knuckles series. I actually really liked Penders world building and lore for the echidnas. Always found the dispute between Penders and Archie fascinating, just a complete oversight. I might read his new shit if he had decent art, get Spaz to do that shit or something.
Good thing he's not making a comic series about one or anythingKen's handling of women is not one of his strong suits, no.

That said, he redesigned it a bit between the Archie version and this mess. That Knuckles panel? Ripped from an Archie issue.
He's on both of the actual covers for the first issue.
Whoa, did Sally get a redesign to be more SEGA-ish? That's kinda cool.
Pfft. The fleetway comics were way better anyway.
All hail the Mighty Kitching!
Woah, they rebooted the Sonic comics? I always enjoyed those comics, if there was some kind of easy way to get back into them *cheap online subscription winkwink* I would totally be down with getting back in. They always did a much better job of using Sonic characters than the actual Sonic games did.
Are they digital-only? I'm missing a few specific issues of Mega Man, but I'd prefer physical...You can't get a break on a subscription, but Comixology runs sales on back issues every so often.
This all the way. Kitching and Elson were legendary. Some of the later stuff went a bit iffy but the main story arcs based on the games were fantastic. I'd love to see a resurrection of STC.
STC Online is a fan continuation of it. Kitching has even contributed to it by doing some writing and art. This all the way. Kitching and Elson were legendary. Some of the later stuff went a bit iffy but the main story arcs based on the games were fantastic. I'd love to see a resurrection of STC.

They definitely followed the games much better than Archie. I never liked any of that SatAM rubbish.

Did Penders draw the Archie comic? If so why does his new art look so bad?
Wait, Dmitri?! Sigh, what a pile of bollox!
the cover, for those wondering:

I saw recently that Breezie the Hedgehog from AOSTH was introduced

Seems like a cool way to pad out the universe again given they can't use any of the Penders characters anymore
Which is actually great because holy shit did that bog down everything
Kill it with fire.
Also, a user from SSMB redrew the sneak preview and gave it actual build up.

They also added Honey the Cat -- an unreleased character from that arcade game Sonic the Fighters. This is her first official appearance in any form.
Also Breezie from AOSTH is in the comics now? That's obscure, and has my interest. I think now is the time I finally read the rebooted universe
That's much less cluttered and the characters faces fit what they're saying much better. I'd say it's an improvement.

Nope. The XBLA/PSN port from a couple years ago was actually polished up a bit, which included finishing and including her as a secret character.
I dunno if they are or aren't after the reboot, but pre-reboot, I swear I've heard Ken Penders was hellbent on preventing that pairing from occurring, going as far as to imply she got hitched with Shadow instead in his it's-totally-canon-we-swear-you-guys future arc.I remember watching the show as a kid and finding the relationship between Sonic and Sally endearing, apparently they aren't a couple in the comics? Seems like a waste to me.
