So who's king of e3 conferences?

Who won E3 in your eyes?

Sony
Microsoft
Nintendo (Galaxy 2 and Metroid were the only good things, but not enough to stop them from being last, 2 games is not enough.. Zelda would've made Nintendo #2 but no show)

Anyone saying Sony was >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> than MS or MS was >>>>>>>>>>>>>> is very much confused. They both had great games to show. Dont try and diminish either one to lift up your favorite.

1. Nintendo
2. Microsoft
3. Sony

I don't get all the hubbub about Sony's showing. It was not horrible and they had great games but they didn't win anything here. FFXIV exclusivity would have been huge if it wasn't an MMO.

Definitely Nintendo for me.
They had some great surprises and they went by quickly.

Microsoft was pretty interesting with some of the tech they showed off.
Their games were solid too.

Did not like Sony's that much, mainly cause of the lack of surprise that catered to me.
Final Fantasy XIV was a shocker, but online was a huge disappointment.

MS wins simply because the games are coming out within 6 months, it was detailed.

Sony was very vague, showing CG or simply logos and not talking concrete release dates.

Seriously, all fanboy war aside, cant we just all agree that all 3 conference had their cool and not so cool moments, and that they were all good ? They all showed new interesting stuff.

When i see people desperately hold a sequel to a OK game it really show how shallow that conference was,Hell MS is turning into the new Nintendo and announce 2 Halos, pretty soon it will be Halo Tennis and Halo Party.

But i see that you already knew about the Rockstart game, and also knew about the maria kart meet Little Big Planet racing sony also show, and what difference does it make that it is online is a multiplayer FF game if we are lucky we will not be charge to play it online.

Im sorry was the words "the agent" a big reveal?

You dont announce a game and show absolutely nothing. In other words e3 2010 we will see a trailer and everyone will act like "OMG DID YOU SEE THAT" like its brand new...

and how dare you call crackdown an ok game. Same with l4d. your just mad because valve hates the ps3 and you get jack shit

Sony and MS in a bloody, bloody draw for me. Way too close to call.

Alan Wake, Splinter Cell, ODST, Reach, Crackdown 2, L4D2, Forza

vs.

GoW3, MAG, Uncharted, Agent, FF14, Last Guardian, GT5

Sony > Microsoft > Nintendo

Microsoft's conference was ok, they mostly showed games we already knew and most of that would be released on PC. Facebook on 360? uhhh, noty, 1080p movie streaming was nice though and Project Natal... eh, could be fun for family, but you can NEVER ever play a game with that.

Nintendo's was decent, I liked the new Metroid game and new Mario games.

Sony's was omg, wtf FF14? Uncharted 2, God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, The Last fucking Guardian and a new Metal Gear with BIG BOSS! (I wish it was for PS3 though)

Sony. I was disappointed they didn't announce a significant pricedrop (as in >€100) as well as the release of the PS3 slim. If they had, I would have bought a PS3. But they did show a few nice trailers (GT5, that TRICO thing), announced something I'd be interested in on name and setting alone (Agent) and had an amazing on stage demo with Assassin's Creed 2. I didn't much care for Uncharted 2 though, while it was very pretty, the shooting looked boring and just not fun. Can't see myself playing that really.

Nintendo was a close second, they announced quite a few games I'd want to play and basically showed why the Wii is so very popular as a party console and even gave the fans quite a bit to look forward to. I'm not sure I'd go out and buy a Wii based on this conference, but I'm closer to that point.

Microsoft was a distant third really. While there was some good stuff there, such as Splinter Cell: Conviction and Forza 3, there was a lot more there that was just terrible. Halo 3: ODST failed to impress on any level at all, particularly graphically. And Infinity Ward proving they are just phoning it in at this point in a very long demo didn't help the situation much either. And Alan Wake, which I'd been very excited for, seemed very conservative, which was disappointing.

Sony. I loved the microsoft conference and there were some great moments in Nintendo's, but I sat there with a huge grin on my face throughout the entire Sony conference, so they win for that reason alone.

Microsoft by far for getting me excited about motion controls. Forza 3 is my game of the show so far. Thank you for not showing boring statistics and PPT slides!

Sony's was so boring, and omg at the terrible motion control demostration. The Last Guardian, ModNation Racers, and God of War 3 will be cool.

Nintendo has been irrelevant to me for a few years now, and they did nothing to change my mind.

Nintendo lost by a mile, boring, weak hardware, more peripherals, too much casual. Only lightpoint was SMG2.

err, Nintendo is the only company that didn't announce a new peripheral.

Just a repost here..

Great conference overall. Some great games shown I'll pick up for Ps3 when it finally gets a price drop. Motion control looked okay but not as great as Natal ( when they get it working 100% ). Can you imagine using Natal in combination with a regular Xbox 360 controller? RPG's like Oblivion and Fallout could be amazing in combining the two.

Very curious about Agent, MGS on PSP looked cool, but 4 players? Mhh Metal Gear : The Clone Wars confirmed.

As far as conferences go, Ubisoft was the crappiest of all. Nintendo follows closely, they only showed 3 new games ( which looked good ). MS had a load of great games I cannot wait to play! Alan Wake & Splinter Cell look AMAZING!

But so did AC2.

Nintendo : 5/10
Microsoft : 9/10
Sony : 8/10

Really, who "won" could easily go back and forth between MS and Sony. They each had their pros and cons but were packed with awesome content.

Sony won the E3 conferences. Microsoft showed up with a very solid performance, and Nintendo was a distant third.

I'm usually a little more of an MS guy than a Sony guy ( I own both and try to remain unbiased ) but I have to say, they both had awesome shows. I think Sony came out on top this year, but they both did well.

Nintendo, wtf.

Sounds about right.

All three had good conferences although Sony and Nintendo had some really boring parts in them... Overall they all had a lot great games to show and a ton that I'm anticipating!:D

So who won E3? The gamers did of course!:D

Is it even worth asking?

Truly, fully, absolutely Sony by miles and miles and miles.

Insanely, absolutely immensely impressive games. Tons and tons of exclusives. True 1:1 3D motion remote. Third party exclusives like FF14 and Agent. New System in PSP GO. OMG TRICO/GT5/UNCHARTED2/GOW3....etc....etc.

:lol :lol You're so damn predictable.

Anyway.

MS and Sony tied for me with Nintendo a bit behind.

They were all about equal in my book. Each had their ups (Alan Wake, Metroid, God of War 3, etc etc etc) and each had their downs (creepy boy Milo, glowing ball vibrator, pulse-sensor thingie).

Overall, I'm fucking impressed and glad to be a gamer.

in terms of watchability sonys show was the best put together.

in terms of gaming line up i would say microsoft takes first this year. sonys line up is pretty solid but only uncharted 2 and trico amazed me.

microsoft > sony >>>>>> nintendo

Except for the heart rate monitor. Which was announced without any application.

All pretty underwhelming for me.

Nintendo: Metroid was a nice surprise, too early for SMG2, NSMB Wii will lack online killing its potential.

MS: Natal is impressive tech, but I'll wait to be wowed by an application in a real game.

Sony: If I was blown away by the games they showed, I would already have a PS3.

It's tough to say, I'd definitely say that Microsoft and Sony were neck and neck. I thought they both had great showings. I love how Microsoft was focused on games, no sales talk etc. I think games wise Sony (Uncharted 2...holy shit) had a better showing, by a hair.

Nintendo was 3rd. They brought a couple big surprises and highly anticipated games, but you had Iwata waxing philosophy...again, Wii Fit 2 boredom, Cammy, bad presentation all around, and a very surprising lack of 3rd party info.

I think Nintendo keeps trying to give a broadly appealing presentation at a largely hardcore audience, and it comes across very poorly, at least on TV. The E3 audience is not where Cammy should be. She should be on Oprah, Good Morning America, Fox News, CNN etc... Putting her in front of the most hardcore gamers, talking WiiFit, is not a good move.

My 2cents on it.

In terms of presentation Microsoft were miles ahead of Sony and Nintendo.
In terms of content Sony was ahead of Nintendo and Microsoft.
In terms of surprises Sony and Nintendo were ahead of Microsft (the only surprise in the MS conference was Milo and that was a bad surprise, it gave me nightmares! It was like a cross between Vilage of the Damned and Terminator!)
They all had cringe worthy segments, all to do with demoing motion control on stage!

All in all I would say it was pretty even.

Sony's. They really were about the games.

so were MS..

these have been one of the greatest E3 shows in several years.

i think MS and Sony did it great. Nintendo was good, far better than last year, but not great.

I can't understand the Sony blowing here. They basically told us people with a PS3 to eat a dick in 09. However, my PSP is happy.

1) Microsoft
2) Nintendo
3) Sony

Nintendo FAR exceeded expectations, and I think the conference was interesting to watch. They broke up the numbers and casual stuff with nuggets of cool information in between so it didn't get boring. There was minimal pratting about on stage - probably about as much as the other two - and some genuinely surprising and interesting announcements.

Sony's conference, regardless of content, was just plain boring to watch; the structure was terrible, it was just a chunk of numbers then a montage, more numbers, montage, numbers, montage.... It was great to have a focus on the games, but it wasn't really anything unexpected or that we couldn't see five minutes later in better quality on the internet. Aside from this, I honestly don't care about any of the games they showed except Uncharted 2 and the Last Guardian; the absence of Heavy Rain was very disappointing for me.

They showed strong software, but I was hoping to see more stuff we didn't know about. In typical MS style they finished it off with some ambitious technology which reassures us they're invested in the platform for some time. Natal is brilliant tech, and if i'm only browsing NXE with it, it'll be worth keeping an eye on. Molyneux's stuff was just plain scary :P
