Before anyone complains about Sonic not racing tails or anything, if they included another character, they would have to take extra time for his abilities, animations and whatnot. Multiple colored Sonic bots keeps it simple.

I wish I could find the issue, but yea. Near the end of the issue, Modern Sonic does go up against a classic Sonic clone. I miss the Sonic X comic. It was good at poking fun of itself. Much better than the shitty anime.

it would be really funny if I didn't hate Sonic's current look so much. maybe in like 10 years when Sonic is COMPLETELY irrelevant i'll be able to have a good laugh at that. :lol

The gameplay videos look awesome. Sonic Unleashed as the basis and a few ideas from Mario and a bit of Sonic Rush added. As they didn't seem to even have botchered the multiplayer, I'M very optimistic, that this might be the best 3D Sonic game to date.

Not really.

I mean, I guess it was impossible back when Ken Penders and Karl Bollers were writing for it, because neither of them were very good. Karl was arguably the better of the two, but whenever he'd try and get a story arc going it would be Ken's turn at bat, and Ken had a really, really, really bad habit of starting things and not finishing them for years, while at the same time mucking up everybody else's plans and stashing really poor Star Trek references.

When the new writer, Ian, came on board, he delineated a few characters/plot threads to keep and then used his new-found power as the only writer on the comic to wipe the slate clean with a "the world will never be the same" event. It basically gives him an out so that when obsessive fanboys crop up and say "Whatever happened to this awful character and his retarded plot thread?" he can give the blanket answer of "currently missing in action and possibly dead". It also allowed him to steer the look and feel of the book more towards the games (both classic and new).

Plots these days are a lot more simple, and for lack of a better term, "childish". I haven't actually read it in a couple years now, but back when I was reading it, most of Ian's story arcs would last three total issues before he'd start on the next one. Really easy to follow.

They just got done with a huge 12 part "Iron Dominion series and are now doing simple two-parters that are easy to jump into. You can pick up issue #215 and go from there. Also, try to find this years Free Comic Book day issue. It's a big recap of the previous years events.

In Sonic Universe, they are doing a four-part adaption of the old Game Gear game "Tails Adventure" believe it or not.

The guest composers (Jacques, Drossin, Tallarico) largely did a better job than Senoue did. A couple of the vocal tracks are actually pretty great though.

Knuckles stages would've been so much better minus the lyrics. Not that I dont like rap, it just seems that they would've been better minus lyrics.
