Sonic Colors - E3 Trailer + screens

My upload of all three in 856x480 in one.

God fucking dammit it was a fucking headache to do this properly.

I first used Windows Movie Maker to merge the vids after I converted them to avi as it didn't accept mov.

After uploading it, I realized that the framerate took a big hit, this happened to another vid I tried doing a week ago but gave up trying to work on it.

Anyway, I kept trying to find and use a good video merger, all the while my PC kept fucking up.

So finally after so many mess-ups and headaches I got free working program and got it working and uploaded again, properly this time.

Really reminds me of the two player race stages from Sonic 3.

Also, is that an annoyingly grating MIDI of the one colors song playing while they drill?

hey! Reach For The Stars is.....pretty good? I like it, anyway

now, that I watched the video, the 2 player actually seems decent.

I played Colors today. It was okay. There's a double jump which feels awkward in a Sonic game and the controls don't feel as good as Sonic Unleashed. I still enjoyed it though. I'm gonna go back tomorrow.

What was featured in the build?

I played two acts of the stage that features the drill. Sweet Mountain is also available but I didn't select it. The build is probably old though. Just like the Sonic 4 build that's also in the PAX expo hall.

Sweet Mountain is the one that features the drill. O_o

No actually it doesnt, and your name should be taken away because you obviously don't deserve it. at all. Also the 4th wall part is pretty neat since he hasn't done it since the early days, there you go I have one positive thing to say about this train wreck.

You obviously have no clue what the hell you are talking about and have provided nothing to this thread.

This game is looking better and better with each reveal.

1.) SA-55 is back. YES!! I loved this little guy sassing Eggman. Plus, this helps confirm that this is a direct sequel to Unleashed.

2.) Co-Op looks awesome. The Stages are sterile by nature of them being for testing, but so was Portal. It looks like 2-D platforming goodness.

3.) Chiptunes of the level themes. Awesome beyond words.

Almost everything has been revealed and there's nothing bad in site. It looks like the best 3-D Sonic game to date, if not the best since Sonic and Knuckles.

P.S. Also, I love that hitting the Eggpawns with laser provides a bowling strike sound effect.

EDIT: Kotaku has new gameplay footage from PAX

Can you elaborate on the control differences when compared to Unleashed? Were they more floaty?

very late to the thread, but why is there a red Sonic running along with the blue one? Two player mode? Or do you get to control 2 Sonics by yourself?

also, how the heck did Sonic get those powers

The game is getting along very well, Great News.

Excited for the DS version more though, But will look for the Wii version since it looks rather awsome as well.

Day 1
wait? do I have to fly to Australia?
No, Gamestop in the US has it too. I am really hoping though in NA Amazon get it too, my Kirby Plush could use a new hat.

Red Sonic/Blue Sonic is from a co-op mode.

The powers come from Wisps, little alien things on the planets he visits.

Seeing these videos makes me wish that Sega had an actual booth at PAX last year, when I visited. Instead it was like a bathroom stall.

It's a photo. Not a scan. Plus, it's only a half-page shot. But, if you think it may be ban-worthy, I'll take it down.
The main question is, what is the photo from? If its some sort of Magazine or something you would have to pay for, it would be.

Ironically this has actually dashed my anticipation somewhat.

There doesn't appear to be a great deal of control on that level, mostly seems on rail to boosters etc.

Has anyone who went seen any sustained platforming?
Granted the dude wasn't playing well and I think they mentioned he was going the most basic route. But it has already been said there isn't just one path.

It's not the number of paths I'm worried about, it's how much control you have over sonic throughout. I'm hoping that wasn't indicative of the game as a whole.

in that case, most of the videos I seen (at least of Wisp Planet), it seems like that.

True, but the path the player took in that video seems like it was meant to be speed-orientated.

Other paths on that level are specifically designed to be platform-heavy, and most of said platforming seems to replace the bottomless pit schtick that plagued previous games like Unleashed. Overall, the whole thing looks pretty fantastic.

On a side note, the music is also pretty cool. Nice to see it get back to a simplistic, almost retro-style, rather than Heroes-esque rock that punctuated every other level of past games. I like that style n' all, but it is gratifying to see them changing things up a bit.

Tomoya Ohtani is composing, which I don't think was 100% clear before.

Just a snippet from a Q/A with Iizuka I finally got back. :D

Cool that Ohtani is composing, since Sonic 06's soundtrack was amazing.

Pair something like that with decent gameplay...should be nice.

That sounds like it might be for homing attack though. Could someone post the controls that played the demo?
Oh yeah. I wouldn't know much because I've pretty much never bothered to touch any of the 3D games. Almost Unleashed and Black Knight but I didn't have money for Unleashed at the time and Black Knight was a disappointment.

I'm not sure myself, since some Sonic games end up having homing attack as a seperate button.

It's context sensitive. When there aren't any enemies around Sonic'll do a double jump when you hit A in the air.

Hat > Figurine

What I am surpised about is you get the hat for both the DS and Wii version of the game.

I didn't play at PAX, but when I played at E3 (with nobody around) I played some sections that had some decent platforming bits. Nothing crazy, but definitely more than you see in that video. I'm actually looking forward to this Sonic, and it was definitely better than S4.
