Sony E3 2017 Conference Thread [Over]

Great conference, straight to the point. However it sucks that nothing was shown from Sucker Punch and From, which made the whole thing feel kinda underwhelming.

My scorecard on all the conferences I've seen:

Sony: 7/10
EA: 6/10
Xbox: 4/10 (honestly adjusted this one later when I realized how little of it stuck in my mind, and how many of their games are on other platforms. They gave very little reason for people to buy their new console).

Didn't see Bethesda and only saw part of Ubisoft. Thought Ubi was pretty dang good from what I saw of it though.

Ubisoft was #1 to me, this was 2nd. There is still Nintendo though I am not expecting much from them.

Anyway the stream quality and sound was bad for me this time and the way the games were presented just felt meh. The content was good, the presentation took a big step down from last year.

I'd say this was par with MS. MS was eh, but at least showed shit that's coming this year, and had a lot of great fanservice (XBOX Backward compatability, Minecraft cross usability), while Sony showed nice looking games (if you're into them) with almost nothing this year.

My mood after watching this:

yea worst e3 in awhile...

I mean we all complained that our backlogs are bursting with all these insane games releasing and I think theres still alot to be released this year.
Yet, I aswell feel like we didnt really get that many wow announcements this E3.

Guess those quality looking games come at a price, I mean battlefront 2 alone has 3 studios working on it, Games as a service bind capacities....

New games take alot of time these days

I genuinely feel this is the worst conference they have put together since they started telecasting them. People say 2006 was bad but in reality that showing was loaded with a bunch of fantastic megatons including two new Final Fantasy games. This was... Well nothing really. No embarassing moments because barely anyone spoke. They just showed trailers for a bunch of QTE fests snd cut the lights. Nothing to even talk about. A boring showing is far worse than one with goofy mistakes.

No one likes being the butt of the joke though.

I don't think it was bad, but I was hoping more 2017 stuff from Sony

Time to cancel E3, this shit is pointless. Nobody is making an effort anymore, Layden just put a VHS tape with a reel showing DLC and games announced a year ago.
He probably pressed play and went back home.

Not their best, but they showed some great looking games and kept it short.

The VR section in the middle should have been cut, as should some of the set pieces on stage.

God of War and Spiderman were the only standouts to me. Not completely sold on Spidey yet in terms of gameplay.

DLC for Uncharted 4 & Horizon looked fun.

I though Days Gone was ridiculous (in a bad way).

I think the SOTC remake was the only non-VR first party game they announced in the man presentation. Looks great, but needs new content for me to bother.

Monster Hunter World seemed a bit off to me with them trying to be halfway between the Monster Hunter controls and a more Western style. Just ended up looking awkward. That's a multi-plat as are a decent amount of stuff in the middle as always.

Man, I'm so disappointed they didn't show the Sucker Punch Game.
Looks like they really heared to the folk that is complaining about games that get announced more than 1 year before release... sucks.

SotC Remake looks awesome though.

What the actual fuck are people talking about? They showed an hour of terrific exclusives mostly. Plus they have every game at all the other conferences. MS conference was almost entirely shit that will also be on PS4.

I know it's E3 so people want to talk about megatons, but Sony's year is absolutely bonkers.

We're just looking at the conferences. You'd have to be crazy to think ms has a better line of games, but conference wise? Ms had better variety in pacing.

7/10. Not as crazy as past years, many games exclusives coming out in 2018 but why rush them when CoD and Destiny 2 will carry the holidays which has been a theme with Sony the last few years. Let 3rd parties do the hard work for the holidays.

Also, Kratos's son is a Slytherin for sure. Parseltongue, little mudblood.

The hell is Sucker Punch up to?

Yeah I'm somewhat wondering if we should be a bit worried about what they are working on. Its been 3 years since Last Light and 4 years since Second Son.

I'm assuming they are building a new IP, and that's a lot of work but still, their silence is slightly worrying

1. Devolver Digital
2. Ubisoft
3. Sony
4. Bethesda
5. Microsoft
6. EA

Ultimately though, no one won. If you were a gamer in the fence then both companies did an alright job. If you were on one side already then you are probably happy with what your console showed. If you're Nintendo or PC, you're laughing or on the toilet.

Shadow of the Colossus remake is enough for me to be satisfied lol. No big surprises but my plate is so full already with games for late 2017 early 2018 I feel fine. Still, one surprise at the end (Sucker Punch? Bloodborne 2?) would have been ideal but I'd give the conference a solid B. Nothing more but nothing less.

Final conference grades:

EA: D-
MS: C+
Bethesda: B-
Ubisoft: B
Sony: B

Now we'll wait and see how things change as the show actually get's started and what's drawling the most buzz.

Nothing really that exciting. Most of the big stuff was announced last year.

Monster Hunter is FIRE

Shadow of The Colossus is FIRE

God of War is looking great.

But nothing mind blowing.

7/10

Solid but no Sucker Punch or Media Molecule is very weird. No live demos. Most of the game play segments seemed pretty lack luster. Days Gone and GOW was dull compared to last year. Spider-Man looked insane in 4K. This year is all about PSX it seems. Oh well.

SOTC and DB Fighterz stole the weekend before the damn thing even started! Fuck me i'm so hyped for both of those.

Personally, I'm rating this conference as a Spider-Man/10.

New Shadow of the Colossus was cool, but.... Yeah, I just couldn't find anything else to get excited for.

Crash Bandicoot N'Sane Trilogy, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Everybody's Golf, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Yakuza Kiwami, Ni No Kuni II*, Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Lands, Hidden Agenda, Knack 2 and Gran Turismo Sport are the exclusives for the remainder of 2017.

*console exclusive

such a justice x position - a lackluster E3 in arguably what will end up being the best year in gaming history

Ubisoft is the best so far. Nintendo is the wild card

Good presentation a lot of things missing that are available at E3. Nino Kuni, Gran Turismo, Nex Machina, Matterfall.

Abysmal. Days Gone looks terrible as a game, graphics are great of course.

Same old games without any release dates. Spiderman looked great tho.

Weak E3, but this is what happens when the entire year has an incredibly strong lineup rather than just packing the Holiday season as in years past.

Yeah, I mean, nothing can really top last year's E3 and the beginning of this year in terms of non-stop quality. Multiple games so far this year would've been GOT 2014 without a doubt.

We're gonna need to go down so we can go up again, it's the E3 rollercoaster guys.

For every E3 2016 there are many E3 2017.
