Sony E3 2017 Conference Thread [Over]

+SOTC Remake megaton
+Spiderman has Spider-Man 2 vibes
+God of War continues to impress
+Days Gone looking better and better

-Next to no new announcements
-MVC looks bad
-No games announced for 2017

7.5/10

My take was that it was a kinda low energy conference.

Lots of great games shown but the presentation was lacking, and dare I say, phoned in.

I agree with the sentiment that Sony are spreading themselves too thin over three events in a year.

I'm not going to grade it but obviously not one of their best ones, in terms of the spectacle of the event. Still, PS4 has a beastly lineup, that can't be debated.

Vita is life :P

I thought the conference was alright. Clearly, most of us didn't expect much in the way of megatons this year, but to Sony's credit, they did a good job of exclusive game releases earlier this year. So far, I'm looking forward to Monster Hunter World, Wolfenstein 2 and Spider-Man. I want to like SOTC and God of War , but we'll see how they turn out. It was nice to see Ubisoft show off Beyond Good and Evil 2, but without any gameplay provided, I don't have much of an opinion on it.Strangely, this has been my least hyped E3 so far.

The cutbacks to the audience reactions perfectly represented how I felt during this conference. Bummer.... :/

Yeah, uhm, this could seriously be Sony's worst E3 conference yet. Not one single wow-worthy surprise for me. I sat the alarm to wake me up 03:00 in the morning for this? Very disappointed. Has everyone already started focusing on PS5 development? Weird.

Wow, they seem to have hated the 'talking part' so they minimized it as much as they could. They could as well have streamed everything directly instead. Could have incorporated the pre-show into the main one.

Pretty good show overall, if slightly weak by Sony standards, but that was expected given how much was already known going in. I liked the approach and pacing quite a bit. God of War and Spider-Man look like a ton of fun, and I'd never say no to a SotC remake.

You are all insane as fuck. Conference was great, not as good as the last two but still fine. They should have kept the pre show stuff in main show however. Also I can't take anyone that says MS was better seriously when every game they showed I can play on something else.

People saying MS had a better show, WTF? That shit was full of cringe moments. That Porsche shit they came out with right off the bat. UBI 7-10, MS 4-10, SONY 6-10. Nintendo must save E3.

Saw someone on twitter say this.

This seems like and off year for E3. It's not bad, but not a lot of "wow"

That's exactly what this is.

That said. All the games tonight looked good. It's just we knew about them save for like 2. But MH had people going crazy.

And the SoTC remake is getting bought day 1.

I'm not even going to lie.

People keep talking about the way Nintendo announce things in Digital Events over press conferences, but watching Sony's show and the announcements they have? I think I'd have preferred seeing this in a Digital Event format. None of this felt like it had to be on such an over-the-top stage.

I feel like Sony is going to start moving their big reveals to PSX in December. They had some surprises, SOTC and Monster Hunter, and some footage of games that are coming out this year and next. Not sure what everyone expected tbh. I was hoping for a ps4 pro price drop and unfortunately that didn't happen.

This show was weird because I thought Days Gone, God of War, Spider-Man, SOTC etc all looked amazing. And yet I would score this conference pretty low.

Its just weird it never really felt like hype or momentum was building. It didn't help almost everything shown was games we've already seen. They really needed some clutch new announcements.

I think the Ubi conference was probably the best of E3

I cannot believe how shocking this e3 has been all round.

3rd parties were the only ones bringing interesting new games to the table.

Is everyone secretly gearing up for next gen or something?

No FromSoftware - BB2 is dead, going to be a New IP.
No FFVII Remake - Nomura.
No TLOU Part 2 - PSX for sure + it's early
No DMC5 -The dream is dead.
No new JRPG - IDK about this.
No Red Dead - Delayed baby.
No Sucker Punch - Must be one hell of an IP >:( (Keeping my eyes on PSX)
It's not all bad.

Spider Man looked fun.

Really not feeling Days Gone, though. Just some gruff white dude kinda being a dick and surviving in a crap-ass zombie world. Feel like I've been there a lot of times already.

8/10, but only because I'm a MonsterHunter fanboy (but I'm worried about "westernizing" the franchise).

Games: Shadow of the Colossus remake is fucking amazing as well. God of War combat looks amazing, the story is just Last of Us again so eh on that. Cod: WW2 looks like a current gen WaW with gore and theming, but HEY that's one of my favourite cods so gimme. VR is a snooze fest. Duno why we needed even more Destiny 2. Spiderman looks amazing, but FUCK QTEs jesus christ that was a thing 10 years ago.

Presentation: Sloppy at the beginning and the games should have been spread out. Wtf was the hanging and who that was a good idea. HUGE LOL at the crowd. Jesus Christ this is the worst crowd I've ever seen on an e3 presser. The dead crowd is usually reserved for the PC conference what the hell???

Nothing mind blowing, but Solid conference. Would probably be a 7/10 and slightly below the Ubisoft conference if I wasn't interested in MonHun or SotC

Edit: Wow, already forgot about Day's Gone. Says how I feel about that

They were, except they weren't. Actually, there were probably just as much, if not more exclusives at MS than Sony heh.

Uhhhhhh?

Microsoft
Lucky the Fox (lol)
Sea of Thieves (PC)
Crackdown (PC)
Forza7 (PC)
Cuphead (PC)

Sony
God of War
Days gone By
Shadow of the Collosus
Uncharted Stand Alone
Spiderman
Detroit

People saying Microsoft's conference was better are straight up trolling.

IMO it was a stupid decision to hold back showing Sucker Punch's game. Conference needed some surprise and MH World doesn't cut it even if it wasn't leaked.

On the plus side, God of War and Spiderman looks awesome and i can't wait to play them. 7/10 for me.

Remember when I told you guys that Bloodborne 2 isn't a thing for months and that From isn't showing their ARPG this year and people argued with me forever about it.
Good times.
