Sony E3 2017 Conference Thread [Over]

You are all insane as fuck. Conference was great, not as good as the last two but still fine. They should have kept the pre show stuff in main show however. Also I can't take anyone that says MS was better seriously when every game they showed I can play on something else.

MS also showed exclusives bruh.

Bit of a wet fart conference showcase that. Safe to say Ubisoft won this year.

Hyped for Days Gone. It's still not forging its own unique identity outside of the zombie hordes and it's clearly taking notes from Naughty Dog's work but I'm excited to play it.

TLoU Part II not being there was a positive thing. Show us gameplay next E3. Was announced too early anyway, we all knew it was coming eventually.

6/10

Uncharted and Spider-Man are my two almost definite purchases from that line-up.

I've never liked God of War really, just not my thing. It looks awesome visually, but I don't expect to buy it. Days Gone looks... fine. But I don't get why it exists in the same first party portfolio as The Last of Us. I know they're different, but they seem to have a lot of similarities too. If it turns out amazing I'm not opposed to playing it, but I'm not exactly feeling starved for Americana-themed zombie media. Not hyped about Quantic Dream games anymore. Indie stuff could be great, but none of it really grabbed me. I got hyped for a minute thinking SOTC was getting a sequel or successor, but I'm not sure I will buy a remake of a game that just got a remaster last gen.

Overall it was pretty solid. Reading over this post it sounds fairly negative I guess, but 2 titles shown that I will almost definitely buy is pretty good for an E3 conference. This year, anyway. Felt like one last trailer at the end was missing.

I cannot believe how shocking this e3 has been all round.

3rd parties were the only ones bringing interesting new games to the table.

Is everyone secretly gearing up for next gen or something?

Well look at this year. You've been seeing a lot of games released 3rd party and exclusive.

I think 2018 is going to be another 2017 in terms of great games getting released.

Ptetty much me after wasting my time streaming this at work:

Aqua's reaction is not wrong.

Anybody get the feeling that Detroit totally changed from the last time we saw it? It seemed like it was a different game and they started over with a different take on it. I honestly thought that the reveal trailer was better than what they showed today.

I seriously don't understand such comments, I can accept Ubi winning but MS? they had a terrible conf, they hardly have any AAA exclusive how can they win?

Seriously I thought you need an exclusive line up at least to "win".

MS was much better than Ubisoft, Ubi had rabbids and a CG trailer for BG&E2 that probably isnt even a game yet.

Easily the weakest conference they've done in years. The biggest surprise was Shadow of the Colossus remake but still... thats a remake. Monster hunter is big but is also not exclusive.

Days Gone looks okay
God of War looks freaking fantastic
Detroit seems interesting but not even a hint of a date
Spider-man was pretty good if not great but not the caliber of exclusive I really wanted them to end the show on, certainly not for a game they already announced.

Last year they had some huge megatons, year before that was the year of dreams so they were due for an off year. Still had a pretty great showing but compared to previous few years it certainly is lacking. B- overall Ubisoft still in the lead.

Pros:
God of War Looks Incredible
Detroit looks fantastic
SotC remake I guess is good but kinda a waste of man power. I will be pissed if there are frame drops since that was the biggest problem of the original.
Monster Hunter world announcement is cool
Uncharted lost Legacy. Naughty dog cant do wrong despite me not being hyped... I will probably buy it anyways
Final Fantasy Fishing Simulator (game of the show so far)

Cons:
Spiderman = QTE the game
Days gone looks bad
No sucker punch
No TLOU2

solid conference, 7.5/10. wanted to see something from From or Rockstar but it's ok.

most interested in Skyrim and Shadow of the Colossus, definitely.

Uhhhhhh?

Microsoft
Lucky the Fox (lol)
Sea of Thieves (PC)
Crackdown (PC)
Forza7 (PC)
Cuphead (PC)

Sony
God of War
Days gone By
Shadow of the Collosus
Uncharted Stand Alone
Spiderman
Detroit

People saying Microsoft's conference was better are straight up trolling.

How many of these titles are 2017 games?

They could have made this conference better had they put some stuff in that was needlessly released before. Ni No Kuni 2 would have elevated this slhow and it's a 2017 release.

Y'all, I was so excited for their conference after their past couple of E3 showings - but I found this one disappointingly underwhelming. They definitely started out strong with that absolutely incredible Uncharted trailer, HZD DLC reveal, and the total wtfbonkers SoC remake, but it just kind of slowly went downhill after that PSVR montage lol. :( I feel like some of the trailers overstayed their welcome, and many of them could've showcased the games with a bit more oomph rather than just incomprehensible montage of gameplay and cutscenes. That was my main issue. If the trailers had been better, the conference - for me - would have at least been somewhat elevated.

Ah well, at least there's still Playstation Experience to look forward to! I find that they're usually better than E3 LOL.

Regardless, I'm still super stoked for many of the exclusives shown in today's conference. I'm so goddamn hype for HZD DLC that I literally let out a fucking high-pitched squeal and got shushed for it!

KH3 trailer should have been at the Sony conference.
Crash announcement should have been there, with playable Coco.

A RDR trailer should have been shown, since Sony has the marketing deal.

Even GT Sport might have made the conference better, and I don't even care about GT.

EDIT: And NiNoKuni 2 release date could have been shown.

Would have went from a 7/10 to 8.5/10.

Yeah, uhm, this could seriously be Sony's worst E3 conference yet. Not one single wow-worthy surprise for me. I sat the alarm to wake me up 03:00 in the morning for this? Very disappointed. Has everyone already started focusing on PS5 development? Weird.

What the actual fuck are people talking about? They showed an hour of terrific exclusives mostly. Plus they have every game at all the other conferences. MS conference was almost entirely shit that will also be on PS4.

I know it's E3 so people want to talk about megatons, but Sony's year is absolutely bonkers.

Surprise at shortness passing, I'd say it was a "good" conference, with actual exclusives.

Great/ megaton: MH world, SotC remake, Inpatient, Hidden Agenda, Matterfall, Spider-Man gameplay, HZD dlc in 2017, Skyrim VR, India setting in Lost Legacy, God of War looks fabulous

Good: Days Gone gameplay, Detroit Gameplay, Mina no Golf summer 2017, good VR suport

Meh: Cod WW2,Marvel v Capcom, Destiny 2

Disappointing,: No battlefront 2, no NiNoKuni 2, GTS off show and no date, no Sucker Punch, no From Games, show way too short (under 60 minutes).. no indies?

7.5/10 ((MS was imo a 5 at best)

Disappointing after 2015 (10) and 2016 (9) but still pretty good

Sony, you were the chosen one.gif

I'm a little bummed because of how disappointing this showing is. Why'd they even bother to show this in cinemas. Poor souls that took the trouble of going to the theatres when it's this lame.

Meh.

The conference was too short.
It's ok to trim the fat but this is going to the opposite extreme.
Spiderman, God of War and Detroit looked amazing, Shadow of the Colossus remake was a great surprise. All of them seem to be 2018 titles.
Monster Hunter was an other nice surprise for japanese gamers.

But that was pretty much it unfortunately, 2015 and 2016 conferences were leagues ahead.

I thought it was a good showing. The pre-show alone was fucking stacked and then everything else in the main show. Just edges out Ubisoft for best show.

No big bombshells this year but Uncharted, Detroit, God of War, Days Gone, SotC remake and Spider-Man all look great.

Looks like they are saving some things for PSX later this year.

Yeah. The big stuff there looked fantastic, but they were a little too tight with cutting stuff out of this conference that could have been there.

Also just shorter than it needed to be. And they could have rearranged some games for better buildup.

Yeah, I'll be buying SotC... Besides that just a dreadful conference. Nothing even really for Fall exclusive wise... Thought Sony would come out swinging.

Xbox wins this one.

Weakest Sony conference this gen.

I liked certain announcements, but MS and Sony did not bring it this year.

Luckily there is PSX, but still, that cant be an excuse for a weak E3
