and oh yeah, this was the only conference stream where i had significant problems. switched from YouTube to twitch part way through because it kept buffering only to find twitch was struggling a lot too. barely saw much of some of the trailers as a result.

Too many people watching lol. I did as well.

That was wack.

Spider-Man looks like boring a boring me too game.

Detroit animated poorly it reminded me of a poor man's 'remember me'

Monster hunter world was a nice surprise.

When they say that everything is about the games then they better deliver better than this. PS5 must be close or Sony has truly lost it's edge right now. It was like they weren't even trying.

At this point, its got to be this.

There is a usual mass drought of games due to developers moving into the next hardware iteration.

Like, I got nothing.

Its either that, or our favorite gaming hobby is dying a slow death. This isnt the type of conference a market leader exhibits. And this sure as shit wasnt a Sony-tier conference either.

What is even happening lol.

Really not sure what to think of Dreams. I really am not sold on it at all as a game, and it continuously no-shows.

It would have been a lot better to do a live demo of Spiderman.
i hope it's not been cancelled. some of the footage they released on YouTube a while back looked really promising.

That crowd at the end was telling. Everyone was sitting there in silence thinking "that was it"??? Very poor showing overall. I mean we have to take into account what Sony has been doing the last few years and I guess there was just too much build up and the thoughts of "what bombs will Sony drop" and we get multiplats and stuff we saw last year and a remake.

Today's Sony conference is the reason why these companies should stop doing this live event things at E3 and instead prepare something just like Nintendo is now doing. Everybody hating on Nintendo because they ditched the conference, meanwhile the Nintendo Direct and the Treehouse are being the best thing they've done at E3 since forever. Heck, The Treehouse alone is like the best thing at E3.

Yea, the trailers were good. Yea, it was awesome that they kept it game related and didn't bore us with talk. I;m not talking about what the showed, I am very satisfied with what they showed. Still, today's "conference" didn't need to be a Live conference. It could've very well be a digital showcase instead.

Was it? Ads shown at the start then 2 trailers for DLC, long demo for Days Gone which had 2 showings in Sony's conference dedicated to it last E3, large VR segment that was introduced with Skyrim...already got skyrim TWICE in two difference conferences before this it set up it for a boring segment great for those already interested in VR(Moss was cool).
Monster Hunter World then Shadow of Colossus (remake, remaster?) both looked good and were interesting, Marvel Vs Capom Infinite then Call Of Duty...boring. God of War trailer looked really good but we already got a lengthy 10 minute look at it last E3 a flat feeling Destiny 2 trailer, a WAY too long Detroit trailer with a protagonist that didn't seem interesting at all compared to last years, then a heavy scripted QTA Spider man Demo.

I stand by my comment. It was solid. Not the best ever, but solid.

You can't please GAF. It's impossible, so guess what? These companies aren't trying to.

maybe they should have showed games 3+ years out again, because this year was bad. GOW and Spidey were cool, rest not so much.

It was entertaining. You guys are nuts. Give Sony a pass here. They have been delivering for years, and will continue to do so.

Everything can't always be bigger and better. Why can't we be happy with consistently things being good? This was a good conference.

If you watch the beginning of the Spider-Man demo there are button prompts when looking at the beams and in that moment the player is in complete control, so I wonder how much of those were actually QTE, though obviously some of them just had to be to pull off some of that Spider-Man moves.

So they saved the best games for the preshow...... and put these booty VR games on the main show?
Superhot VR was better than really anything from the VR roll
I think they tried too hard to replicate what they did last year truth be told

Don't get me wrong it was good but compared to the bar they set last year this looks flabby

Show was decent I enjoyed the stuff shown in the pre-show more then the media event.

It's just one of those years at E3. Studios are working on new stuff and ontop of that Sony has PSX coming too.

They should have just moved some of thier big pre show annocments over to the main show and there would have been a big boost. Relagting fucking GT and crash to the preshow was a mistake.

Next year almost has to be better for Sony by default. TLOU 2 stuff, Final Fantasy 7 Remake stuff, and possibly some kind of Resident Evil 2 Remake trailer?

As a pretty big Sony fanboy who pretty much consider Sony as "winning" e3 for the last ten years or so, they kinda dropped the ball this year.

Don't get me wrong, the game they showcased were really appealing, but there's pretty much nothing new from last year. Felt like part two of last year , only without the wow factor and surprise of discovering these titles exist.

I guess it was to be expected. What they revealed last year were long to make, high quality productions who were going to take years to make... But having part two of last year felt meh. I mean , it's the kind of situation where if you were sold on these games the first time, you didn't really need to see more of it.

What I wanted was new stuff, stuff we didn't see before... Stuff like last of us gameplay, a new from software game, death stranding gameplay, maybe a couple new IPs that kick major ass... Not just extended look at last year's E3 games who I alreardy knew what I felt about have been on preorder for a year now...

I will give them BC, but there wasn't a lot of great gameplay at MS's press conf, it was so fucking boring with an endless stream of multi platform indies 95% of the time.

The "amazing" 5% was third party multi platform games.

Not saying Sony's was amazing, it wasn't, but MS's press conf was really rock bottom, add to that Scorpio's price and I can't understand how can anyone think it was superior.

It was rock bottom? Lmao

You didn't think it was interesting to see games like metro being unveiled? And all the other stuff like Black desert, Playerunknown's game, cuphead, ori, anthem or all the indie games? I don't care that these are 3rd party games, they add to the conference's entertainment level as a whole. To call it rock bottom is just hilarious to me and it kinda reeks of fanboyism and hate towards ms/ xbox.

Not arguing on the lack of MS 1st party announcements, they should've stepped up and so should sony have this year.

After killing it the last two years (and in 2013) this was the first Sony conference in a while that was really underwhelming. Sony's first party games look good, but the conference really lacked in surprises and new game announcements that wasn't VR games.

This was still better than Microsoft which also had a pretty bad showing with big titles like Crackdown looking like shit, but not by much. Unless Nintendo is amazing tomorrow we are in a world where Ubisoft had the best press conference.

Yawn... not enough new surprises.

God of War should have absolutely been demoed instead of this weird mishmash trailer. I still am confused why they continue to give the bend game so much airtime with long demos.

I was thinking this half way through. Sony might as well do a Sony Direct. They don't have personalities talking anymore, and they clearly like the arthouse shit, so why don't they just pre-record?

They showed some surprises like DBZ despite it being multiplat. It doesn't matter if you show exclusive. If you can energize your conference then that's good for me.

OK and Sony showed MH and SOTC remake, it's not like nothing new was shown, but at least Sony's stuff was exclusive so there is a lot of added value for that, unlike MS's stuff.

It's not like I'm denying it was disappointed, it's a really weak ass E3, but MS dropped the ball so hard that even a mediocre Sony show was still better.
