It's more about ensuring they have that country with them in the future.Weird seeing such a push into Korean gaming considering its basically lootboxes and a lack of quality in actual gameplay.
I guess the Korean market is the big fight going under the radar, MS has also made some pushes with Korean franchises too
Korea is the next Japan. The entertainment coming out of there is growing at an incredible rate. Their culture is spreading across the world. Squid games, and check out the shows on Netflix and of course Kpop. Their next big thing is gaming and comics/Manwha.Weird seeing such a push into Korean gaming considering its basically lootboxes and a lack of quality in actual gameplay.

The name sounds familiar, but I can't think of what games I've ever played from them.
You aren't wrong... but their gaming entertainment is pretty terrible so if we gonna adopt that culture i hope it's at least the quality stuff like we got out of japanKorea is the next Japan. Nah. Only MMO's I've ever played are Final Fantasy 11, 14 and Microsoft's World of Warcraft and its expansions.Probably familiar with the name from their MMO stuff.
You prob saw the new game they showed, Throne and Liberty.Nah. Only MMO's I've ever played are Final Fantasy 11, 14 and Microsoft's World of Warcraft and its expansions.
You can never have enough money, do you know how business works? But why? Are they not selling enough consoles and games? Are they not making enough money?
Aloy already exists.I'm hoping to make a fat Horizon MMO character.
Library of Ruina and Witchspring R look quite good. Though i suppose the main intention here really is targeting MMOs and GaaS.Weird seeing such a push into Korean gaming considering its basically lootboxes and a lack of quality in actual gameplay.

Have you played Lies of P?You aren't wrong... but their gaming entertainment is pretty terrible so if we gonna adopt that culture i hope it's at least the quality stuff like we got out of japan
Um..... no. Please explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old, Dad.You can never have enough money, do you know how business works?
What did you expect? PlayStation is already dominant in the living room and you know the classic 'we need to grow ' company bullshit. So more GAAS and mobile oriented crap?
Probably Jimbo's parting gift.
E3 '07: NCsoft teams with Sony
South Korea-based MMOG publisher bringing "several" exclusive, unannounced games to PS3, PSP.
In addition to the success of the video game versions of Battleground and Black Desert, Neowiz's P's Lie, Shift Up's Stella Blade, and NCSoft's TL are attracting attention as they are being developed as video games one after another.
Sony is pursuing business partnerships and collaboration with them. In particular, Pearl Abyss, which is about to release 'Red Desert', is discussing partnership plans, including equity investment, with Sony to secure exclusive content.
Neowiz, Com2uS, and NCSoft are also considered partners that are expected to expand collaboration with Sony.
Feels like a déjà vu...

Yes... it's not amazing at all.Have you played Lies of P?
Nothing. The partnership broke off not too long afterwards. Here's the topic from back then discussing this here on NeoGAF...What games came from this?
The quality is not often there yet, or the games are by design not what I would want, actually I don't know if I ever played anything Korean, but from a business perspective Sony (and anyone else) must pursue any growth oppurtunity. Trying to establish a new studio or maybe exclusive partnerships. China may be even more important, if it is even possible with their restrictive market. I wonder why Sony did not also invest more in having at least one studio in Eastern Europe incl Russia.Weird seeing such a push into Korean gaming considering its basically lootboxes and a lack of quality in actual gameplay.

Bloodborne 2 confirmed.Pearl Abyss and Neowiz 2nd party collabs would be amazing.

I mean the conversation was about hoping Korean devs would bring the same quality as Japanese devs.

So would you take lies of P or a from software souls game![]()
I mean the point isn't that difficult do you want Korean games to be as good as from software games or AA like lies of pI'm not sure why I have to choose. Lies of P was amazing. Currently in NG++. I absolutely love FS games as well. Neowiz has a super solid foundation with Lies of P.
Known in prehistoric times as a chubbysaurusAloy already exists.

That was the point.I'm confused at the point you're trying to make. Of course I want Korean games (I assume you mean Neowiz) to be as good as FS games....lol
Lies of P is already every bit as good as most Fromsoft souls games sans Bloodborne and Elden Ring. I consider it AAA.
That was the point.
Maybe read the conversation you were responding to?
They said to me, Korea is like the new Japan and I said I hope they bring their gaming up to Japanese quality then.
That was is. You can still play lies of P, it'll still be there I promise, no need to defend its honor today. It's a decent AA game like I said. It's not from soft quality though which is a Japanese dev
Yes... it's not amazing at all.
It's a AA soulslike

I'm wasting my time.(can't even read the quote comment in this comment he quotesBruh....what are you even going on about?
I responded to this:
Which is 100% about Lies of P. I comically respond that your opinion is blasphemy and your next response is:
Which is super left field and weird, regardless as to whatever conversations you had with other users. This is solely about Lies of P. I comically responded that I disagree with your assessment of it so I am not sure why you're trying to take me down this rabbit hole of your previous conversations, in addition to trying to compare Korean game quality with Japanese quality.......
