Sorry that was me fartingAhhh, can you smell the money being saved?
I don't think there's anything wrong with AI being used like this. The agents in have at work creating or at least outlining a great deal of bullshit paperwork I have to do is great.Theres no way to escape the slop AI

The mantra at work is "AI generates, humans validate" and unfortunately the lack of the latter all across the industry is what creates slop.
You can tell something is AI from a mile away. No one's using AI create endless conversations in an open world, but you'll see Artwork clearly generated from "Make idea X look like concept Y" and just plastered all over the game.
What exactly are the benefits of AI to anybody that isn't a business?
I'm constantly having to course correct AI in my projects. I don't have a problem with it though. What used to take months/years now takes days/weeks. That is the kind of efficiency that video games really need to embrace.
AI nowadays literally 10x productivity at work when someone masters it. Hard to imagine in next 10 years STEM field employers would hire people without any AI skills.I'm constantly having to course correct AI in my projects. I don't have a problem with it though. In our gaming hobby tho, I think many gamers opposing AI are mainly due to bad first impressions in earlier years when dev used bad AI generated assets or some AI scam games.
Aside from from LLM, most superscaling techs are AI too, and we all embrace DLSS, PSSR, etc.
Take my recent playthrough in AC unity, the crowds are impressive to date but literally there are like 5 face models for 1000 NPCs. AI could really benefit situations like this and diversify the NPC looks.
I dont use and i deliver work waay faster than my pal that likes to brag about AI... and needs to create 5 or 7 PRs for the same feature...It's just a fact that everyone is using AI in development whether they admit it or not.
Your games were garbage slop before AI, Sony. You're saying you want to double down? Big deal.
That's my experience, too. I can architect and scaffold enterprise systems in a fraction of the time it takes to do it by hand. AI can lose the plot if you don't stay on top of it, but human devs go down the rabbit hole, too. Always inspect what you expect regardless of how it gets done.I'm constantly having to course correct AI in my projects. I don't have a problem with it though. Couldn't agree more. AI is a great tool, especially for minuet and backend tasks that make workflows better and easier. I think there's so many ways that the industry could really benefit using those tools to leverage positions without eliminating them.I'm constantly having to course correct AI in my projects. I'm all for AI use. If it makes things better and faster, it's all good. Even for normies goofing around on the net using generative tools for laughs, it's not perfect but it's still fun. Google AI recaps arent always accurate, but it' just a tool.100% agree. I use AI all the time to help write my scripts for my projects that I use through SCCM. There's no way I'd go back to using no AI. It has literally taken things that would take me one full week to create and validate and test and has shrunk it down to a four to six hour project, and that's no lie or BS.
At some point, gamers will have to adjust and learn to understand that AI will be here with us, helping to create the games we love forever. Just like with human creators, the cream will rise to the top and the slop will be passed over and fall to the bottom.
The moron that wrote that should be fired
I haven't met a developer still employed who wishes they could go back to doing everything from scratch by hand. The problem people like you will face using AI is if your job or company runs into AI-haters. So anyone like you who use AI will be labeled a cheater or unskilled slob because you arent grassrooting your work doing it by hand or a more traditional way.

For my job in finance, I've not ran into AI stuff yet. It's still old school ways of doing things, but in a way you can argue there's some AI-ish stuff for decades. Instead of learning 3 different ERP systems, big companies can hire tech companies to lease their specialized software that can combine 10 sources of data into 1 general database anyone can use. Ya you need some core people who know how to use many systems, but most people who need data dont want to go to different programs when one good one compiles it all for what 95% of what the common desk jobber needs.
Maybe to an AI-hater, that's cheating because the right thing to do is have everyone learn lots of software as well as have the company pay seat licenses like crazy.
Is it about abandoning parenthood? that's anti woke stuff.I bet they have Ai filter to make female characters even more ugly.
Give us bigger maps, I wouldn't care either.![]()
Development needs to get cheaper
Bold of you to assume a human wrote that drivelWhat a bunch of bullshit that not only means nothing but even contradicts itself in three paragraphs. The moron that wrote that should be fired, alongside Hermen Hulst.
