Keep in mind Sony is the same company who originally predicted they'd only sell 16 million PS4s this fiscal year. They probably planned for something along those lines. Even they have no idea what to do with this snowball.

Yeah, it's crazy, because when Sony lowered forecasts for this fiscal year.......I said 'WHAT", surely, with games like Spiderman, Detroit, GOW and tonnes of good multiplats where they hold the highest ratio (RDR2, BLOPS4, Spyro), fortnite actually being Free 2 PLay etc....,that they knew what was up........Point is, Sony has a console here that could be it's highest selling console ever......I hope, these shortages are just early hiccups and that they had a plan all along, maybe stock is on it's way....

One thing's for sure, the holiday buying season is just starting, so surely Sony has a plan???

Just like last year, they might have under shipped so they are supply constrained. If they wanted to win NPD they could do it with ease, but I suspect they are not chasing after some victory tweet like the t-shirt guy for MS.

Yep, crazy good deal. When I went to order I was surprised to see that it's the 1TB sku. I was thinking it was 500GB for whatever reason.

Really good deal but that 500 GB though..looking kinda skimpy nowadays ..good thing the current systems support external drives , I would take that into consideration depending on the games you want to play...

The PS4 is a great system yet we have the same cast of characters who focus more on the Xbox than their PS4 systems. Care to explain why or is that hitting too close to home for you?

Why is it weird to you that so many wait to buy a system? There are far more games now than the average launch games it released with. The system is cheaper. The hardware has improved. Strange question.

I can't speak for all Walmarts, but the one I work at got about 100 of the bundles in. I think a lot of retails are holding back units for physical Black Friday sales, as its about the only "door buster" we have (even though it's not a store special, or even BF/Thanksgiving special per se)

But people keep asking about it, so it's going to be big.

I traded in my OG 500GB, and bought this bundle, they are all 1TB slim ps4's, at least in NA. Extra 500GB of storage, New controller/warranty, and spiderman for 35$ couldn't beat that deal

- the one that plays multiplats and your old 360 games
- the one with cardboard and ports
- the one that has games

Since the start of the gen Sony has managed to win over the competition by merely being satisfactory lol. You offer that at $200 and yea your systems are off the shelf.

Here is a secret : Sony only want to sell enough of these bundles to keep people from buying Xbox One's & Switches for now until they can produce cheaper consoles next year .


I expect a $179 or $149 PS4 & Xbox One next year but Xbox One will have to go with no disc drive to be able to get this aggressive with the price because they are not moving as fast as PS4 but cutting down on the size will allow them to compete with media boxes with a $149 price & it will be small & light cutting down on the shelf space & shipping cost. Keyboard & mouse support so they can basically sell it as a mini PC.

I am asking because here in the Netherlands I pre-ordered (ships the 23th) the bundle for €289,- - which includes VAT. The European bundle is the same (1TB and Spidey) except for an additional controller - you don't get two controllers in your bundle, right?

I am still waiting for British retailers to reveal their price for this bundle. I've been with Xbox (and Switch) for this gen,. But this bundle, well, it is just too hard to pass up. Plus, there so many games I would like to play that are only on PS4, and are relatively cheap right now (Shadow of the Col., Gravity Rush, Last Guardian, Last of US [never played this one], Uncharted 4, Until Dawn, Zero Horizon ... ). So I just want to make sure I get best bang for my buck - and yes, I am stingy that way - because every euro I save on the console I can use to buy games. Yes, third world headaches, right here.

America doesn't have a VAT, but a sales tax that varies from state to state. Prices are always quoted without tax for this reason. Sales tax is typically between 4-8%.

So on average you'd pay about $210,- at checkout. Well that is still dirt cheap. In the Netherlands we pay 21%. But this is always included in the offered consumer price.

This why the $199 price point is so important. In the past, getting systems to that price point was critical because it opened the door to an entire new audience. The market is still the same it seems. We just forgot because the last generation never really got to this price until the generation was long over.

Are you in the US? Gamestop is taking trade ins of the original PS4 consoles for $140, plus there's a $25 promo going on. So you can get $165 just for that.

You can browse through this list to see what's available in the UK, I was referring to the US. The deals there are not bad either and you get your choice of many bundles....RDR2, Fifa+extra controller, RDR2-Doom-TLou-R, Blackops etc....You have many to choose from....

If you have an Xbox One X....there's NO WAY in the world you should be an OG PS4. Get the PS4 Pro.

I will say that going back to a non-pro PS4 after using the X a lot can be a bit jarring. But I only play VR, random PS Plus games, and exclusives on the PS4, and I'll save the extra $200 and stomach it. I would rather earmark that $200 for a PS5.
