Yeah, it's crazy, because when Sony lowered forecasts for this fiscal year.......I said 'WHAT", surely, with games like Spiderman, Detroit, GOW and tonnes of good multiplats where they hold the highest ratio (RDR2, BLOPS4, Spyro), fortnite actually being Free 2 PLay etc....,that they knew what was up........Point is, Sony has a console here that could be it's highest selling console ever......I hope, these shortages are just early hiccups and that they had a plan all along, maybe stock is on it's wayKeep in mind Sony is the same company who originally predicted they'd only sell 16 million PS4s this fiscal year. They probably planned for something along those lines. Even they have no idea what to do with this snowball.
it's the new "open air" strategy... if people can't buy a PlayStation they are more likely to breath open air when they go outside. To the surprise of no one except Sony, who never have enough stock.

Just like last year, they might have under shipped so they are supply constrained. If they wanted to win NPD they could do it with ease, but I suspect they are not chasing after some victory tweet like the t-shirt guy for MS.
Just like MS, they have Minecraft bundle this year!!!
They don't even hide it anymore.
The Astrobot/Moss VR bundle is doing very well too, at least from what I've heard, but Spiderman can't be contained......So much for Spiderman being niche, which was an argument I heard on the W3 before the game's launch......I got one myself. Great timing as my old one just died.
Its like buying a $150 console with a $50 game. Absolute great value.
I wish some of you guys would do a little research, there is a spideman bundle. I did not say the spiderman console was $199, I said the spiderman bundled console, which even has a spiderman box is outsold everywhere......well the title is very misleading then!
so it's just a bundle of spiderman and a NORMAL ps4, not a special edition, well suddenly it doesn't sound so good..
It's a 1TB console actually......Really good deal but that 500 GB though..looking kinda skimpy nowadays ..good thing the current systems support external drives , I would take that into consideration depending on the games you want to play...
Yes, it's the same with RDR2......I'm glad it isn't that gaudy red monstrosity.
Also of note, the game included is the physical retail release with disc and case.
Well that's very good..the picture I saw was 500..I wish some of you guys would do a little research, there is a spideman bundle. I did not say the spiderman console was $199, I said the spiderman bundled console, which even has a spiderman box is outsold everywhere......

Meanwhile in Brazil...That price is damn good. And you get Spider Man.
Because you hide your Xbox fanboyism so well?
"Tudo pela metade do dobro".Meanwhile in Brazil...![]()
Leve uma pague duas!"Tudo pela metade do dobro".
Yes, 500GB HDDs are really outdated.
I suppose this kind of bundles are a good way to get rid of stock.
How about doing this in reverse? Instead of being impressed with PS Black Friday, let's remember the last time they didn't sell out of their bundles. Anyone got that info?
When was their worst BF and did they plan for it?
So it's like every other Black Friday everywhere, except they offered it a week early instead of waiting until the actual Friday?
No, it was literally I can't remember last time there were more bundles then customers.Fair, but what is the point of this exercise in the context of this thread? "Let's stop celebrating the good news, how about we think about something bad and how bad it was?"
Which Nintendo thread?Came to chuckle about Switch selling brilliantly, while Sony struggles comment made in Nintendo thread.
Question for Americans: is $199,- the actual price, or is this the price before VAT? I am asking because here in the Netherlands I pre-ordered (ships the 23th) the bundle for €289,- - which includes VAT. The European bundle is the same (1TB and Spidey) except for an additional controller - you don't get two controllers in your bundle, right?
.
Are you in the US? Gamestop is taking trade ins of the original PS4 consoles for $140, plus there's a $25 promo going on. So you can get $165 just for that.Fair play Sony, I'm going to see about getting one today. My launch system still works, but it's loud as hell and Doom takes up like half the hard drive.
You can browse through this list to see what's available in the UK, I was referring to the US. The deals there are not bad either and you get your choice of many bundles....RDR2, Fifa+extra controller, RDR2-Doom-TLou-R, Blackops etc....You have many to choose from....Well that's very good..the picture I saw was 500..
Edit: Ahh okay I see ..in EU there are bundles that do have the 500GB version..probably what I saw ..
I traded in my OG 500GB, and bought this bundle, they are all 1TB slim ps4's, at least in NA. Extra 500GB of storage, New controller/warranty, and spiderman for 35$ couldn't beat that deal

Would you all say this is a worth-while deal for someone who has not owned a PS4 before, but currently has an XB1X and an OLED TV? Or should I pony up the buck-a-roos for the pro? Are there even any good deals on the pro over the holiday weekend?
If you have an Xbox One X....there's NO WAY in the world you should be an OG PS4. Get the PS4 Pro.
I will say that going back to a non-pro PS4 after using the X a lot can be a bit jarring. But I only play VR, random PS Plus games, and exclusives on the PS4, and I'll save the extra $200 and stomach it. I would rather earmark that $200 for a PS5.
