As do I, but we have to think about manufacturing costs. The GamePad wasn't cheap to make.I still want a touch screen on it honestly, they just need to make the controller feel more like a controller

Converse said:Now, let's look at Splatoon's situation. The marketing seems to be there. From Miyamoto talking the game up to the current art contest, the Tumblr, the recent (and glowingly positive) press hands-on, the "Mess Fest" going down in L.A. this month -- in any case, Splatoon has enjoyed a hell of a lot more Nintendo-generated buzz than TW101 (or than Code Name S.T.E.A.M., another common comparison), and it's still about a month from release. The amiibo factor also can't be underestimated; I don't think I need a citation to illustrate how insanely popular they are. More than that, you have a significantly more positive Wii U landscape. This is the post-Mario Kart, post-Smash, post-amiibo Wii U. It ain't setting the world on fire, but its mindshare seems more positive all-around, and its install base was up to 9.2 million by February 2015 (giving Splatoon another four months of install base growth to take advantage of -- I'll edit if anyone wants to dig up more current numbers).
I don't know how you can look at that and honestly think that Splatoon will do Wonderful 101 numbers. I think 1 million is a fair estimate, given the marketing, amiibo factor and far larger install base.
If the NX comes out in 2017, then yeah, get Splatoon 2 ready for launch. But we also have to keep in mind that they're gonna add legit DLC this August.Yup. The next game should be the Super Mario Bros. 3/SSB Melee of this new franchise. Expand the fuck out of the game! They should start working on it immediately to. Make it as close as possible to the NX launch window. Its a perfect launch game.
Congrats, Splatoon. The sales are well-deserved.
I guess JasonMCG has to drink his own urine.
Where else could they put it? It's not like the 3DS could handle this game from a technical standpoint.Lmao remember this?
I'm on that wall of shame too but I still think the Wii U is holding this series back from doing more than it has so far.

CONGRATS NINTENDO!!!! WOW!!!!! I was not expecting that for a "dead" system![]()
Like I said, I can only see Splatoon 2 being an NX launch title if it comes out Holiday 2017.Fuck yeah Splatoon 2 confirmed for NX launch title. But really this are amazing news! Splatoon is currently my GOTY so far. It's been a while since I had so much genuine fun with a videogame, much more than I did when MK8 or Smash released tbh. Now I can't wait to see the inklings literally appearing on every single Nintendo game from now on just like Rosalina haha. Congrats, Nintendo!
What else is there to play thats new? Not jack.. This should not be a surprise.
Kid Icarus Uprising

Damn right it does.I remember that infamous thread, and saying that Neoxon had it right:
Damn, it feels good to be a gangster.
Smash is around 3.7 million if I recall and mario kart is at 5.11 million.Just out of curiosity, where do Smash and MK8 sit exactly? Just wondering if these games can have legs given the Wii U's underperformance sales wise.
FTFYI wonder, if Splatoon can get to 3 million lifetime, if it could be considered a 'A tier' nintendo IP. (In my opinion A tier IP's are Zelda, Animal Crossing, Donkey Kong; S tier are Mario and Pokemon)

This is a game for:
- shooter fans
- that dont need blood
- that dont mind "kiddy" looks
- that dont need voicechat
- that own a Wii U
I Wanna Be the Guy said:It's a Wii U game that doesn't have Mario, Zelda or Smash in the title. It could be the best game ever. It's still going to bomb. Best case scenario it becomes the Wii U's Tearaway.

mineshaft_gap said:I expect Splatoon to fail miserably. As a concept, it's just flawed. Plain and simple. Children do not want to play first person shooters. It's been proven time and time again. The only way Nintendo can keep from going the way of SEGA is to produce games their primary audience wants to play. In my opinion, Nintendo made a huge mistake by letting Minecraft fall into the hands of Microsoft. Nintendo shouldn't make the same mistake twice. They should buy the Five Nights at Freddy's IP right now while they have the chance.
Given the way Nintendo's rolling out the content I guess it's plausible Splatoon will keep selling and maybe reach 2 million.
Well deserved.
