Splinter Cell: DA 360 Multiplayer Demo Today!

Dunno how you can play with inverted, but the option is in the demo, at the Home option...

Also, like Mike said, you can make it standard for every game by doing so in your Personal Settings, by hitting the Dashboard buttion...

Thanks for pointing that out, I had no idea. I can finally really play the Tenchu demo now.

Yes, I admit that it's hard for me to play most games when I can't invert, sue me.

My GOD the characters are uhgley! Stupid bald, visor wearing jerks is what they are. :P Much better in Chaos Theory/Pandora Tomorrow imo.

so hows the demo work? i am not at home so I can't download it just yet. Is it one of the stupid demos where you play one match and then it kicks you back to the dashboard or can ya just sit there and play???

I can't even get into a damn game, I either get stuck at the damn " joining a session, please wait" screen or the host quits before the game starts or as soon as I get into a lobby I get kicked

it boots me off live when i start the demo - and then i can't log in

then when i leave the demo it logs me into live

Why is there not a review up for this game? Doesn't it come out on Monday or Tuesday?

I've had that before, last time I remember it was with the TDU demo. It only happened to me the first time I tried to run it, after that I stayed connected.

I think my 360 is at death's door, this morning it wouldn't let me switch accounts, everytime I tried to log out of the default gamer profile it crashed. I've just tried again and got past that but then when actually playing the demo I was getting some weird pauses (didn't seem like lag) and then I was unable to interact with any terminals but could still run around, on exit it crashed :(

What I did get to play (co-op) I loved, the AI is pretty stunning from what I saw. I was considering skipping this SC but I don't think that's an option anymore, provided I get a console sorted out.

EDIT: After reading the previous page, some of my issues may not be so uncommon :lol

Looking through the thread, at least you get to play... :lol

Yeah, for five minutes in a lagtastic match. It's super fun when it works though I wonder if they don't have all their servers up (does Ubi manage their own servers like EA?)

I hope they get this fixed before launch. Also, it seems like when you get stuck "Joining a session" you can't back out!?

EDIT: Also, my 360's frozen on me twice while playing. I'm getting paranoid...

The multiplayer was a lot of fun, I really like the fact that they stripped the spies from weapons so a much bigger emphasize is put on the sneaking. I do hope some of the other maps are a bit more inspired and feature more eye candy.

I keep getting an error message in that there are no available matches, however the single player co-op ( :( )I played was REALLY smooth, and I could tell the mechanics of it will be awesome.

I imagine the servers are down at the moment.

Can't wait for the SP demo, not to mentiion the full game :D

As I mentioned earlier, I'm fairly certain Ubi said no SP demo for 360.

Meh. Considering all the problems, they should've reversed the demo releases. That way they'd have more time to make sure the servers are up to it.

The idiot that noticed this isnt a flightsim? Im just kidding though man :). It could work for some, this being in 3rd person and all.

The vertical should always be inverted. Always.

Great demo. I hope they put out more downloadable map packs for this one than they have for the previous games.

I still can't play a damn COOP match, I either get stuck at the damn "joining a session" shit or if i actually make it to a lobby the host quits or I get kicked as soon as I join. I've only been able to actually play 1 damn match

Fire the whole development team.

The fact that most of them stood idly by while they ommitted the most important feature in any action game, inverted free look, is absolutely heinous.

:P

Seriously though, what idiots.

This is what shocked me about a Sat. release. I believe M. Nelson said that they didn't release over the weekend because nobody would be around to fix any issues.

Wow, coming from CT the animation and framerate in this are really impressive. Everything moves silky smooth. I hope the SP can match this.

please skank...inverted aim revolutionized videogaming. What idiot decided to leave it out?

Blah!

I feel your pain!.

Man it is so fun playing as a Spy. I havent run into any of the problems people are talking about like lag and freezing up on Join screens so the demo is leaving a great impression on me.

I think the rediculously long wait times can be attributed to the fact that everyone and their mother wants to be a Spy. Seems like everytime I choose Mercs, I instantly find an open spot.

As for the Y-Axis-inversion schenadigans: theres a list of options in the game's "Home" menu.

i noticed the same thing... i'm surprised at how good this looks, for some reason i was expecting lots of screen tearing and iffy framerates. so far it's been nothing but lag free and ultra silky smooth. the 2nd generation 360 games are finally getting the polish they need. kudos to ubi on this one. awesome, awesome game. oh, and it's been lag free so far and i've been involved in about 3 online matches. no problems whatsoever.

I played a couple matches, and while at first I had no clue what I was doing, I slowly learned the ropes. Nice of them to include some help videos, too.

And oh yeah, it's a lot of fun. As a spy, it feels like you can go anywhere and dodge bullets with ease. Can't wait to try it out again when I have more time.

I played some more mp matches and it's really a lot of fun. I tried MP in Pandora Tomorrow when it first came out but it was a bit complex for me, too many gadgets and shit. I like how they streamlined it. As a spie you really have to wait your moment, pick a good spot, hack away, watch the Mercs trying to find you (lots of fun) and try to find a good exit. Very different from the normal fps mp. I like the demo a lot.
I was a bit hesitant on paying full price for splinter cell, cause I was only interested in the single player, but I think this has changed my mind. I hope they have some cool and interesting maps and if they can work out the 'joining' problems it's all gravy.

Well I managed to connect tonight and WOW. I'm definitely pre-ordering this tomorrow :)

It's a weird descripor, but the gameplay feels really smooth. There's nothing jarring about it at all - once you know how it works, it's a very fluid game.

So awesome.

played one game as a merc with a bunch of strangers - can't say I enjoyed it! first of all horrible text yet again, I could not read the tutorial video text at all.

The spies are so damn hard to spot cos everything is so dark, once you do spot them they are super hard to kill. One time I spotted a guy hiding, I blasted him with the gun like 5 times, he noticed and like tried to hide, but wasnt doing a good job. Kept shooting him, no effect! like wtf is wrong with my gun! had to use a grenade in the end as any longer and he might have escaped. I had trouble killing a spy who was more or less staying still?

The spy is so nimble and the FPS mechanism so clunky (and everything is so dark) that the spy could just run around in a circle and be really hard to kill.

Sadly you seem to spend your time as a merc waiting for the alert that one of your areas is being attacked to let you know where someone is, then you use your radar thing to try and home in on them - tryin to find a spy any other way is like impossible!

this lengthy process seems boring and unbalanced in favour of spies. Its like trying to flush out a rat so you can shoot it, but you have no way to flush it out, all you can do is wait and when it does show it disappears into a hole before you even aim. rinse and repeat.

Then again, the spies have to be patient and hack like 5 targets to win? oh man. if you knew your way around, made sure to move around between targets every 30 seconds or so, you could probably remain undetected until you win. only problem is its so repetitive you'd get bored.

but then you guys are probably enthusiasts who know your way around much better than I do and dont feel this way, just the impressions of a first timer who was simply bored by the end of it all.

I was trying to shoot another guy for ages, pumping him FULL of lead but he just kept running around in front of me trying to break my neck. A full minute and a bunch of clips later he finally manages it. Its like he was invincible - or it was so laggy he was teleporting away from my bullets all the time. If he'd taken a proper spy route i.e. run away and hide theres no way I could catch him. Its not like on GRAW where if you get caught like that BAM 2 seconds later you are on the ground.

The spy is so nimble and the FPS mechanism so clunky (and everything is so dark) that the spy could just run around in a circle and be really hard to kill. Before I died a team mate joined me - 2 mercs standing there trying to shoot this spy running around in a circle - and then he breaks one of their necks and escapes! HOLY COW MAN!

Now lets think about this buddy. It's dark...Now what would you use when its dark, to see? The game has it and I think you should hit left on the + pad. :)
