I'll agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
However, there is no doubt that she is big.

I guess we just have different definitions of what constitutes big. I would not consider her "big" based on that photo. However others are indicating it's been photoshopped so perhaps I've been deceived

She's not that plus size, she has a thigh gap for goodness sake.

Wrong. That's shopped. Let's look at some unshopped pics of her.

Is she attractive? Maybe, to you. Is she overweight? Obviously. Should that preclude her from being in an ad? Nah.

"Big" means visible overweight. As in, you can tell by looking at her that she is biologically overweight. It's just a definition. Not a subjective thing.

Jesus Christ, that's a stupid thing to photoshop.

I won't argue she's not overweight, but I do also think she's pretty attractive.

Sadly it is only for an advertisement and not a spread. You know who should grace the front cover of the SI Swimsuit issue but her contract with her swimware line may be an issue; Ashley Alexiss.

I am not sure her work on Playboy would be an issue though.

I'm a dude and I'm jealous that even though her BMI is probably 30% higher than mine, her stomach is that taut.

But you brought it up...So obviously to some people it would be classification of "too big". As if thigh gaps were that important.

Thigh gaps can be pretty important to some women, they can go to some pretty crazy extremes to achieve it.

It's really weird that they'd photoshop a plus sized model to have one.

Yeah she caries a much smaller percentage of her weight in her stomach. It mostly goes to her arms, legs and hips. Lucky girl honestly

I get that, but the picture in the OP does not appear to be overweight to me. So there must be a degree of subjectivity involved.

Well, your first sentence here proves how it isn't that weird.

I'm sorry, no there isn't. Overweight is not a subjective classification. Either you are overweight, or you are not. You can appear to not be to the naked eye, but this woman definitely is.

Remember when Cosmo got in trouble for calling Robyn Lawley plus-size?

To be fair, I think people think plus-size=fat when it really is an industry term for saying the model is above sample size.

To be fair, she's 6'2'', which is about a foot taller than most swimsuit models.

I always figured most models were tall as fuck anyway.
Also on the topic of this thread, I think she's cute.
Some of the dudes on here acting like they wouldn't smash in a heartbeat.

She's pretty. She's also fat. And she would look better if she lost weight.

Guess it's nice for the modelling industry to have someone that isn't wafer thin but honestly it would be so much nicer if they went for thin but athletic women instead or anorexic or fat women.

I read in a different article that she's a size 14. That's the average American woman's size. As in, the average girlfriend/wife of a male American Gaffer is size 14.

As in, you guys calling her "heavy" or "big" are delusional. My wife is skinny with curves in all the right places, and she's a size 8-10, depending on her clothes brand.

We're just too used to seeing skeleton models on the runway and in magazines. I'll take a size 14 over a size 4 any day of the week.

My wife used to watch ANTM and they had some plus sized models on there (and probably on Project Runway a time or two) and they were always pretty standard looking. I'm surprised this girl is a true plus-sized model and not like the absolute lowest end of that spectrum possible.

I read in a different article that she's a size 14. That's the average American woman's size. As in, the average girlfriend/wife of a male American Gaffer is size 14.

Then, medically, the average girlfriend/wife is fat. I'm sorry. That's not a derision or insult, it's medical truth.

If you're ok with that, more power to you, since that's the trend these days.

Around 14 is the crossover between regular and plus. Most makers will have regular clothes in that size, but they will be designed for body types considerably smaller and might not look right.

I'm not saying she isn't overweight. I'm saying that people here making a big deal about how "heavy" or "fat" she is aren't living in the real-world. The average American girl is that size, and probably growing larger.

How is something a "plus" size when it's what the average woman in our country wears? That makes no sense. I know what you're saying is accurate, but it's absurd.

You're the idiot if you don't understand what fat is.

This model is beautiful. She's fat.

Just like many of the older models are beautiful, but skinny.

Average is not normal. It's only in America where you get participation trophies for breathing, that this kind of attitude comes up. That chick is beautiful, and fat. It's not normal. It's not even average (referring to distribution and shape), though the fat percentage might be.

I'll give you kudos for at least spelling "you're" correctly.

Sadly, you don't understand what a mathematical average is. This has nothing to do with participation trophies, but nice red herring. You sum up all the data and divide it by the number of items and you get the mean average. The mean average size of an American woman is 14. By definition, it is "normal."

Notice how I did all that without calling you an idiot?

The average American woman is medically overweight.

Because the human body isn't naturally supposed to carry that size......it has nothing to do with "standards" its what is biologically healthy and natural for our species.

But since the average is overweight, that doesn't make the average good or necessarily more promotable to the industry.

SORRY BUT THIS LADY ISN'T ATTRACTIVE ENOUGH FOR ME 0/10 NICE TRY

Seriously though, wow. She is hot as hell

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just saying she is the norm, not an outlier.

That woman is much more representative of the average American woman than the usual swimsuit model, and it's not even close.

She's a big girl but her fat is mostly subcutaneous. That's a good thing, means she's still plenty healthy. Proportions more important than actual weight IMO.

I dunno man. My wife is a size 4 and she has plenty of curves. This girl is definitely thick. Just because Americans are overweight in general doesn't make this model somehow not overweight.

Beautiful face, body is definitely a bit too big for me. Still, as hypocritical as it is, it's a trend that needs to keep going

It's kind of weird, because her stomach is actually kind of flat, when, at that size, it seems like there should be more fat there. It's like the opposite of a tire around her waist.

Certainly not my type, but I understand the attraction, for sure. Good on them to do this, I think.
