You mean Gyrozetter? lol I forgot that even existed for so long until you mentioned it. I really wanted to play that one from what I saw. Was getting a Xenogears vibe from it. But the characters looked rather obnoxious so who knows.
Like Square feels the need to update in a year. Unless you count Wada promising it isn't dead, it's been longer than that since we had an update about Versus.

You know, I have to second Kagari's earlier sentiments: I, too, have come to miss the days of closed megatheater hijinks. Back then we were all so full of hope and excitement.
Look at us now. Square might as well announce that it isn't doing anything for Jump Festa and our reactions could be no different. We're gathered here today in memory of Square Enix, a company that used to make video games.
Toriyama and Lightning finally are finally alone, both of them contemplate the magnificient Star Ocean while The Last Remnant of Toriyama's uncertainty falls and he finally talks.
"You know that my World Ends With You, right? I can't even imagine living my Final Fantasy without you"
"I know" she answers, "you really conquered my Kingdom Heart"
They both kiss with passion and he proceeds to draw his Sword of Mana, Lightning understands is time for her Front Mission and prepares herself before the Children of Mana finally pours inside her.
Then both Toriyama and Lightning lived together until their 3rd birtthday.

Ehh, I feel like it wouldn't work quite so well. FFX-2 did very little to let you mix and match job abilities; you mainly just switched between jobs. Very very different from FF5.
I'd rather see an FFT sort of adaptation, letting you equip more different types of abilities at once (one action ability, one reaction, one passive, and so on).

So set it up like a Paradigm deck. You have preset class set-ups you switch between in battle with the R-Trigger.
So like, you start the fight as a Red mage with dual wield and !Mix, but you've also set up Ninja with !White and counter as a back up, and you switch between them on the fly.
I am playing FFXIII-2 at the moment. Not a very compelling game. Not particularly interest in the sequel. Hopefully FFXIII will disappear into oblvion after this.

KH's PS2 engine basically is FFX's with a few extra bells and whistles. Porting KH to HD basically means free FFX HD. Plus I'm pretty sure they've already mentioned the KH port started first, even though they announced them in reverse order.
Lack of Versus XIII at this point was expected, it's pretty obvious the game faced serious issues and problems during development, so much that it could end up being moved to next-gen consoles or released just at the last moment in early 2014.
That said, pretty interesting line-up from them compared to TGS. Lightning Returns, Kingdom Hearts HD and Dragon Quest VII are all three titles I'm looking forward too and definitely buy when out. I can't find another developer that in the same year (2013) will release 4 (counting ARR) must-have titles for me. Pretty satisfied overall, I don't get what people complains about when it comes to quantity and quality of their upcoming games.
The time travel based structure of the game means the game is generally less linear, but it also leads to the narrative being even more loose and garbled, world design is pretty superficial, it is just not very immersive or grounded, monster capture is a pretty shody replacement for summons, leveling up consists of spamming X, and visuals are downgraded from FFXIII overall. It ain't bad but it is in the bottom two FFs I have played (the other being FFXIII, no surprises).

FFX HD collection probably became something else, perhaps a X+X-2 combo, or a X+XII combo or who knows, even a Type-0+X HD combo. I'm pretty sure S-E wants to jump on that wagon and will do it before the end of the generation.

They don't sell as much as the first, but since they've mostly stuck to cost-effective games it isn't a problem for them. Same reason for the FF13 sequels, they don't sell that much but they don't *need* to sell that much.
Its hard to really tell since all the main games have been handheld lately and western handheld market is what it is. They have done ok numbers tho apparently the 3DS one was disappointment in japan sales.
KH1,5 will be interesting. If it does well it surely shows the franchise is alive and kickin on the home consoles. Then again it's only a HD collection tho knowing the KH fanbase I expect them to eat that shit up.They desperately need new fans too since the narrative is very hostile for newcomers and the old fanbase has probably somewhat outgrown the series since KH1 and 2.
Once again, porting Kh or FFX is basically equivalent. They get KH to run, FFX will run, nearly free of charge. They started on KH first even before they announced FFX. Odds are it was an attempt to show they can still do FF games that aren't FF13. As for people, those remakes essentially being ports mean they need very few. Reportedly, two persons are working on KH.
FFXIII-4 Lightning strikes thrice will be their main product. Sure bet.

FFX needs more work tho since it has prerendered stuff in the backround, is multiplat (at least for now lol) and is very FMV heavy compared to KH if they are touching those.
Lightning Returns is going to bomb so hard that they will not even dare to call her name ever again in SE offices,so it's safe to say the XIII fiasco will be over after LR.

The multiplat thing is irrelevant. You can bet they're already adapting the FFX/KH engine for multiple platforms already, and that the FMV will be a minimal effort thing; they certainly won't rerender it, at best they have hi-res sources collecting dust somewhere they can use. back when they made them it was a multi-contractors effort, they won't redo the rendering and postprod for the kind of project where they have two programmers for the port.
