Square Enix Jump Festa 2013 Lineup

If Lightning Returns bombs that's incentive that people don't like Lightning enough and they will have to make another installment until you do like Lightning.

Toriyama and Lightning finally are finally alone, both of them contemplate the magnificient Star Ocean while The Last Remnant of Toriyama's uncertainty falls and he finally talks.

"You know that my World Ends With You, right? I can't even imagine living my Final Fantasy without you"

"I know" she answers, "you really conquered my Kingdom Heart"

They both kiss with passion and he proceeds to draw his Sword of Mana, Lightning understands is time for her Front Mission and prepares herself before the Children of Mana finally pours inside her.

Then both Toriyama and Lightning lived together until their 3rd birtthday.

Now I should go to bed, sorry for this lol

Lightning Returns is going to bomb so hard that they will not even dare to call her name ever again in SE offices,so it's safe to say the XIII fiasco will be over after LR.

You must be joking, Toriyama will be riding this train for years to come, he has mental problems with the character. I wouldn't be surprised if Versus troubles were related to Nomura getting his team constantly moved to build FFXIII.

Do people really think they'll continue the XIII/Lightning stuff beyond LR?

See my response above - the guy in charge has obviously some issues with the character.

That PSVita support.

Not only is FFX vaporware, but SE hasn't announced anything at all for Vita in the nearly 15 months since. They still had that unannounced PS3/Vita Unity ARPG coming as of late last year, but I wouldn't be surprised to find that it was cancelled sometime this year.

Similarly, Capcom hasn't announced anything for the platform in over a year, and I don't think Konami has, either. I don't think even Sega has announced anything since March, aside from the JSR port.

Namco Bandai is the only major Japanese third party that's still on board to any significant extent.

FFX HD collection probably became something else, perhaps a X+X-2 combo, or a X+XII combo or who knows, even a Type-0+X HD combo. I'm pretty sure S-E wants to jump on that wagon and will do it before the end of the generation.

The clock is ticking! Cuz when PS4/720 arrive I won't care about a last gen FFX HD port.

They were also supposed to have a new unreal 3 RPG too.

I'm surprised by the lack of iOS ports.
Why is Square Enix neglecting their new favorite development platform?
One of the few platforms on which they can actually finish development (of shaddy ports) without big problems given the not so high specs of the platform itlself lol

jokes aside...the usual predictable se line up...
people who supported se so far will be happy...

i wait for ffxv.

It's been confirmed that since September...

Release date is some time in 2013.

It's real amazing how fast they can confirm the platforms it will be available for, an estimated release and confirmation of a localization on announcement.

While other basically mainline titles get discarded and for their new IP BDFF they would have no idea.

Taking the old Namco Hoarder "wait and see if it sells" approach.

2013 worldwide I think. Since I see the year on the NA/EU page.

Yeah Square basically has said that core FF's would be released near simultaneously, yet other then XIII series that has not happened at all.

Edit: I suppose you could count Duodecim as well but let's be honest, most of that game was largely copypasta

At this point, Versus should be simultaneous.

Man, this make me depress and angry at the same time. Sony ain't doing anything to secure exclusives for Vita and they flush 12 million down the drain on a crappy COD game if the sources are true.

It's likely that the Unreal project and the Unity project both got sidelined or cancelled when they pulled people to revamp FF14.

This is also my thought. Either that or they're waiting until the games are basically done to show them again.

AFAIK, that was never confirmed for any specific platforms, unlike the Unity project (although that was only confirmed semi-officially by way of a job posting).

That seems likely, yeah.

I guess you could add Koei Tecmo to the Bamco category, at least.

At this point.. is it safer to have media outlets declare Versus as a cancelled project, to have SE react and give us a status (ie, the game still exists).?

You will have a bunch of pissed off people, but if it clears things up and they actually tell us something we can respect them for that.

You can't announce a product and then give no information on it.

But evidently they can so whatever

It still exists. There have been recent tweets/interview snippets pretty much confirming it. It'll come out.. eventually (2018?). I think they're just getting Lightning out of their system before they drop another mainline (offline) FF on the HD consoles.

If they aren't already cancelled, it seems that quite a lot of games from Square Enix will arrive very very late in this generation (can we even think of a KHHD 2.5 on PS3?).

Ok, it wasn't a big issue on PS1/PS2, but hopefully there won't be a new Type 0-like case, here...

Square better have a damn good showing at E3.

That's all I can really say at this point.

I know they are squeezing Type 0 with a Ultimate Hits version that I think releases today or sometime soon, but still no concrete info on it. The way things are going, a fantranslation may come sooner then Type 0 will.

And it's basically going to be FFV all over again.

Any wonder it's in trouble.

inb4 wahh Versus

Ctrl-F "versus"

lololol

7 years later....

why do we keep expecting they'll include versus on that list. :(

Came expecting no Versus. Leave satisfyingly disappointed.

Lightning Returns better be gameplay.

jesus, versus really is a lost cause.

if it taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakes foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, I will waaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiit for youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Lack of XIVARR is a bit surprising.

They WONT show Versus XIII or Type-0 at E3. This is pretty much guaranteed since Jump Festa is video only, for Lightning Returns. They don't want anything overshadowing that. Hell... knowing them, they'll still probably show off XIV 2.0. =/

It's out now... and discounted to 2100 yen on JPSN.

Kotaku kinda pull that move a few months back and Wada said that it still exist not to mention they reiterated that at their FF aniversary.

I'm already expecting them to disappoint me. I mean if Bravely Default doesn't show up, I'll know what's up.

Nintendo for E3 I will really look forward to.

It seems to me the only thing Square is good at is releasing the games they already made in their golden age.

I mean it's FFV's 20th and nothing.

At this point if they went ahead with Before Crisis for 3DS I would buy it if it was done Type 0 style.

I don't care. Anything Type 0 style I'll get. If LR is Type 0 style I'll get that, I'm at that point.

Sure I'm trying what's in my limited power to translate most of Type 0 but it's going to take a long time.

Yeah, I agree with everything you've said there and I'm also excited to see what Nintendo has to show off at E3... Sega too. The easiest thing to do if you can't translate, is youtube a playthrough. That's what I did with areas I couldn't understand.

I can play Type 0 fine. I've played it over 28 times. Both runs for each of the 14 characters.

It's more I want to know the information and lore. Because I love the character's and if what the game dictates as true, that this is where GILGAMESH was born, then that makes me all the more passionate about finding out everything about Orience.

Because I am the GILGAMESH FAN KING.

first reply too.

Btw, wtf is: Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, 360)?

And why is there no Wii U version?

It's basically Final Fantasy XIII-3.
And as for no Wii U version... given Square's internal console output this entire generation, did you really expect a Wii U port? We're lucky they're finally bringing KH back to a home console... it only took 6 years for that to happen.

I'm happy there isn't a Wii U version.

Bringing back is kind of a strong term for taking existing consoles games and putting them on the successor console.

True, but if you consider they waited 3 years before jumping on the HD remaster train... any little thing is good at this point.

Do people really think they'll continue the XIII/Lightning stuff beyond LR?

Nobody even thought they'd continue it past XIII or XIII-2 before those games launched. We've learned our lesson. When Toriyama said she must not be forgotten, what he meant was that he would make so many games with Lightning that we'd forget everything else about FF.

Lightning related may be over, but FNC will be continued in Versus and Type-1
believe!

My Faith score is too low. You'd have to be pretty Brave to believe anything good about Square these days, though.

Will I want to protect her?

You won't want to forget her.
