Square Enix party: more confirmation about a new game

Just so everyone knows, Grandia came out for the Saturn exactly 10 years ago. If S-E loved me, they'd give me something Grandia-related (remake of first game, new entry), etc...

Square Enix does not love you.

Think about it, what's the main thing that's changed with a remake? Graphics. Well FFVI is 2d graphics at their finest. FFVI was at the end of a graphical generation, so it is still something you can enjoy visually.
SNES was no more the best possible 2D than GameCube was the best possible 3D. That it was the last generation with 2D as the primary emphasis doesn't make it the ultimate step.

Korean developed Grandia MMORPG confirmed.

I just got my new issue of GI, and it seems there's an all new multiplatform RPG called the Last Remnant due Spring 08. Haven't read the whole thread, but is this the new game? Or are we waiting for a new Final Fantasy announcement as well?

The Last Remnant

Spring 2008 - Next Generation Consoles - 1 Player RPG

One thousand years ago humanity came into contact with Remnants. These magical fragments of a bygone era were once used to promote peace across the world. Soon, as the rift grew between those who ruled and those who obeyed, the remnants ceased being instruments of balance, and instead became paths to immeasurable power. Where once there had been peace, only bloodshed remained.

I'm reading the article as I type so bear with me.

So no specific platforms?

Because hacked-up port-downs of wagglified next-gen games are disappointing, lame, and should be avoided at all costs. Let developers make awesome high-end-visuals/processing games on the one hand for 360, PS3, or PS360, and let them make Wii games unique and separate and designed for that console. Mingling the two does nothing but bad things.

I dont think putting something on an English magazine with low circulation is how you do megatons announcements.

Game Informer is 23rd best selling magazine in America.

Pretty sure that Game Informer has higher circulation than any other US multiplatform magazine.

Anyway, how many new game(s) are supposed to be announced? I wouldn't hold my breath for any Wii megatons.

Type faster, GI subscriber! No need to transcribe the whole article, just hit the main points (platform, game type, battle system, online/offline etc.) and save the full details for later.

Yes but Square usually reserves their really big announcements for their shows or a Japanese magazine. This game is likely being made by Kawazu which is why they let GI announce it. Kawazu = avoid at all costs.

it's supposedly multi-platform. why would you care if you can get the best version on your console of choice?

Please guys, don't make me try to learn how to ignore people because of the usual crying and tears over platform issues. Get over it.

Details about the game please!

Or Square Enix just wants this game to sell to American audiences more. Especialy since this game seems to be coming out to the 360 as well, why wouldn't they focus on the NA market?
