Star Fox or Takamaru -- Hideki Kamiya would be down for either

Thing is Nintendo has been really good about keeping to their word about not wanting to buy Developers and Plat has been pretty vocal about how they want to be their own studio.

I just think people are really jumping the gun with the second part/Nintendo Buyout ideas.

I don't see Nintendo buying them but I also don't see a lot of companies funding original P* IPs at this point besides Nintendo. So Nintendo may get a lot of support from them by default.

He said some time ago also responding a tweet that he wouldnt change much of the Star Fox 64 formula. I think he was responding to a guy saying he didnt like some things of 64 amd if he was goimg to change them and Kamiya saying that then he wouldnt like his star fox either.

He's my fucking hero.

Starfox please. Damn i will buy multiple copies at launch if there was a new one in the vein of the original snes and 64 versions. This would be amazing.

That was me and I asked him if he would kill off Slippy. He said I wouldn't like his Star Fox, though I was only joking.

That level is why i'm surprised that so many people actually like the idea of him working on a Star Fox game. Wouldn't Treasure be a better idea since Nintendo seems to have a decent relationship with them?

that level was a complete replica of the first level of space harrier if i remember well,so it was not designed by kamiya, but was an homage to the classic game.

Star Fox HD.

Online Coop.

Crazy giant mech bosses.

Branching paths.

Score and medal system.

Online leaderboards.

Arwing modification and upgrades.

DO IT.

Someone asked him about F-Zero. He said he wasn't interested.

man they need to sell a disk system collection in america

They should have been translating this stuff and releasing it on the Virtual Console--Murasamejou, the Famitan games, Shin Onigashima...

I'd be down for a Kamiya-made samurai action game.

But I imagine he is just thinking out loud. When was the last time he made a sequel to someone else's game? RE2?

Yeah. Though in that case he was still a system planner/designer on the original.

Though I will say that Kamiya working on a Nintendo IP isn't outside the realm of possibility when Iwata is saying stuff like this. (it's also of some relevance to how Nintendo would view their relationship with Platinum on games like the Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2)

In addition, we are changing our way of cooperating with other companies. One recent example is that we will develop a new game from the “Smash Bros.” franchise together with NAMCO BANDAI Games and NAMCO BANDAI Studios. We would like to develop fascinating software in line with the theme of the series by combining their specialties and our ability to brush things up. We can avoid a case where all the Nintendo staff members are devoted to one big project and we have no power to develop other games, which is another benefit of co-development with people in other companies. We hope that each development team will improve its collective strength through such experiences.

One thing I would like to add is that, when we work with people in other companies, we have no intention to take the trouble to “cultivate” them. I think it is more important to understand how we can both grow, or to find a good balance which can enhance each party’s strengths and eliminate weaknesses.

Wait what's the difference between SF1 vs. SF64?

I actually made a thread a long time ago about Star Fox vs Star Fox 64 (and how I like SF better). I mentioned some differences between the two games there.

SF was largely about not just shooting, but also dodging stuff. Dodging flowering plants, dodging tons of beams, dodging random blocks. Look at the following video, the very beginning of that level is dodging tons of stuff.

SF 64 was more like a flight sim and mostly involved tons of shooting, dogfighting, and combo mechanics.

Since Sin and Punishment is largely about a combination of both I'd rater see Treasure make it, but a Kamiya Star Fox would be interesting.

if there was a legit awesome starfox game I'd probably buy a Wii U for it.

sf64 dogfights were better than all of SF1 btw.

As much as I'd like to see Platinum do a Takamaru game, I think after 3 action games in a row, Kamiya would be happier with Starfox.

What's wrong with the level?

It's pretty well done I think

Sure, but I don't think that you can ignore it entirely. Isn't it the only example of him working on something that's similar to a traditional Star Fox? It just seems like it would make a lot more sense to give it to Treasure since they have experience with the genre.

How do you know Treasure wants to work on it?

as long as it's SF1 style and not SF64 style.

I think Starfox 64 is the one he's a fan of.

I think I read that the original Star Fox music was by some composer who left the company before SF64 came out, and it was basically his only work.

My favorite part of 64 was the branching paths

I played it in a time before gamefaqs, so I pretty much found all the secrets on my own or through discussions with friends over the course of years.(on and off of course)

Pretty much shaped my taste in gaming. Love that kind of hidden content that rewards player skill and game knowledge

Thought Bayonetta was very reminiscent of that in it's unlockables and content, so I have a great amount of faith in a Kamiya directed entry

They took the "Einstein" line out of the 3DS remake. He says "genius" now.

When that happened I turned off the 3DS and started playing my N64. Haven't gone back to the 3DS game since, I didn't even play if for an hour. Why did they rerecord all the voices? They sound awful. Kamiya would have never let that happen.

Aren't the characters in Star Fox based off mystical animals in Japanese folklore? If so, perhaps a Star Fox X Murasame Castle isn't so out there... ;)

It could be like the third live-action TMNT movie where the turtles went back in time to feudal Japan, lol. Team Star Fox flies through a rip in time and BAM! Takamaru!

The problem with that idea is that it'd either require Fox to fight on-foot (no!) or feature spaceships massacring foot soldiers from the air (kinda funny, but still, no!).

I didn't like the Prime games or DKC:R, the only Platinum/Clover game I've liked is Madworld and the Bayonetta demo.

I don't really want either of these studios working on StarFox.

I think at this point I would be down for whatever Nintendo wants to do with Star Fox. Platinum Games doing their take on it would be probably be awesome.

Holy shit is all I have to say. Do you hate blowjobs too?
