BF3 and 4 debuted in March at GDC I believe... this is only a month later than DICE usually does it.

Agreed on the case that this doesn't mean they aren't hitting their date this year.

This year with Dying Light, Batman, No Man's Sky, and SWBF being current gen only hopefully signals the end of cross gen for big games.

Targeting 60 FPS likely had a much bigger role in BF4 and Hardline's lower resolutions than being cross-gen.

For Battlefront, they'll probably go 1080p30 and say "See how much we upgraded it for next-gen?" when that's actually a much easier target to hit than 900p60.

They've said it will "have a 3rd person element" and won't just be a Battlefield reskin. We also saw a tiny snippet of footage where a Rebel trooper gets on a speeder bike in 3rd person.

Take all of that with a massive rock of salt, though.

Yeah, that's why I said "footage." It was very short, had no context, and I wouldn't use it to conclude that you can play on foot in third person, just saying that it exists.
