Star Wars Episode 7 Poster revealed!

I don't get why people think that only ONE Protag can be a Jedi.

I mean, it's like people's minds go [slaps cheeks] what ever will we do if the white girl AND the chocolate man BOTH use the force?!? THERE CAN ONLY BE 1!!!

If they're both just discovering they're force sensitive or beginning training it takes away from the individual character growth. It's cool to watch one person become a jedi. It's less cool to watch two go through the same journey.

Oh of course most will get on board! But there will always be that vocal minority of haters. Remember that Mad Max Fury Road bouhaha because a female character dared to have as much importance to the plot and independence as the titular character? I loved MMFR but we all know that franchise is tiny compared to SW. I can only imagine the meltdowns.

Fun times ahead.
Fury Road will always hold a place in my heart for that. Men's Rights activists were so shook.

Glad this is not the theatrical poster! I kind of don't like it.

If Finn and Ray are love interests, the salt will sustain me until Black panther.

Huh, I was kinda counting on them ending up together. But now that I realize, that would be awesome for all the wrong reasons (like salt).

I was thinking why some people were resorting to this. Rey and Finn can both be Jedi,

Poster looks really bad.

Hoping Episode 7 at least ends up being as good as my favorite SW movie: Revenge of the Sith.

If he's the Jedi what's the point of that one trailer with the "my father had the force, I had the force, my sister had the force, and now you do too" or some shit?

So what she'll have the force but won't be a Jedi?

Maybe he wasn't talking to her.

Maybe he was, /and/ Finn is a Jedi too.

WHY ARE PEOPLE TRYING TO MAKE EXCUSES FOR FINN HAVING A LIGHTSABER?

Face it, the brotha is a Jedi. Maybe Daisy is too, maybe Oscar Isaac's pilot is a Jedi, too. That would be great. But you don't put a lightsaber wielding non Jedi on a poster. Let the man be a Jedi.

To be fair, Luke wasn't a Jedi in the first Star Wars. :P And never fought with his lightsaber. Kinda amazing how the first Star Wars is the only one that doesn't have a lightsaber battle in the climax.

But yeah, I'm expecting Finn to be the jedi and Rey to be the Han Solo character (Well, the other Han Solo character).
Thats not even fair either. People complaining about that clearly didnt watch the older movies, especially Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (the franchise defining movie of the trilogy) where Gibson had 16 lines in the entire movie and was ordered around all the time just as he is in Fury Road (only this time he was ordered by a woman! How dare they!). Hell, even in Thunderdome he was ordered by a woman too!

Mad Max was always a survivor with few lines thats in the wrong place at the wrong time.
This reminds me that I really need to watch The Road Warrior. Somehow I've still not watched any Mad Max movie but the first and Fury Road.

That would provide more salt than in the Dead Sea.

But I don't see it happening. Now John and Daisy in real life? They way too friendly with each other. You see them at that CC panel? Brehs...

Looks okay to me, but is it safe to imply anything from this poster? If so going off my assumption that Finn and Rey are both force sensitive, her being positioned in-between the light side and the dark side sticks out the most to me and I can't shake it either.

Personally I think it would be awesome if they were both Jedi. I also don't see why has to be just one of the main characters. Let Finn rock the traditional sword saber and Rey can Darth Maul it up given her staff-wielding abilities.

And suddenly a million Rey toys were sold.

Calling it now: Boyega is trained by Luke and will fight like the OT Jedis, while Rey is some sort of thief on Not-Tatooine and will thus use her acrobatic skills to fight like the PT Jedis.

I thought Rey would be the Jedi in training. Or perhaps both will be Jedi.

And if that's the case, I totally see them being pitted against each other later in the new films.

If anyone wants to know the spoilers for the blue lightsaber and why Finn has it, feel free to PM. The info has been out there for months though.

I think I know what you're getting at, but isn't the big spoiler that he's weilding the saber as a (potential) jedi, not how he came about it.

Neither Finn nor Rey are necessarily jedis.

Just because they're force-sensitive individuals does not mean that they're jedis. For example, did Luke qualify as a jedi in Empire Strikes Back? After training with Yoda for a couple weeks?

I assume you have to be trained in order to become a jedi.

That's very bad work from Drew Struzan. Yikes.
I think this is the first poster he has done that looks like crap.

Off topic but everyone should watch the documentary on him on Netflix its really cool.
