Trying too hard to fit Han in. Just take him out.

Love Drew. Love Star Wars. Even saw the documentary about his posters. But this is pretty terrible. Ridley and Ford look rushed and basically ruins it

Han's placement is a little awkward, but this is a fine poster for what it is - a minimalist look at the new characters and the reintroduction of an older one. It's not the main movie poster - just something extra for fans.

I was going to criticize the hell out of this poster, but if it's not the official one for the film then I'll just say "meh".

Probably one of the most uninspired Struzan posters ever. Very sad. Does not bode well for the film.

I won't get this, but I wish The Force Awakens final poster would be similar to the iconic one from A New Hope of Luke holding the lightsaber toward the sky.

Wouldn't worry about the poster...I was at D23 but didn't get into the panel. From what I saw it's flimsy and only slightly bigger than legal paper just a cool little souvenir not at all marketing material.

As for Finn...
The rumor about Han and Leia having a falling out and her getting together with Lando makes a lot more sense with him holding a lightsaber. An ex-smuggler getting antsy with domestic life makes for a much more believable story than them living happily ever after for 30 years.

Where the hell did you hear that rumor? Because it's not really a rumor at all. It's just bad speculation.

This is the first I've heard of such a thing, period.

I don't think it's pure speculation though..

It's absolutely pure speculation. The guy never once alludes to having heard anything from anyone else. It's an idea he came up with on his own, and posted it to reddit after thinking about it for 3 seconds.

This isn't a rumor. It's a guy on reddit spitballing ideas.

The character created by Jason Aaron who exists solely in a comic book for the sake of the comic book having something interesting to do, has no relation to anything JJ Abrams & Lawrence Kasdan have done with The Force Awakens.

Although, potentially Finn could just as easily be Solo's son

No, because that would make Finn like, 40 years old.

Look I'm not defending the dude's post it was just the first source I came across. It's an interesting theory, not necessarily that Finn is Lando and Leia's love child but that Han and Leia split some time in the 30 years between ROTJ and Episode VII. He could just as easily be Luke's son or Han's especially if the comic is canon. https://www.google.com/search?q=lei...57.4870j0j4&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=91&ie=UTF-8

I have a feeling Han will die in this one.

Just by the fact he's the only one featured on the cover and not Hamill or Fisher.

Han and Leia being estranged is true but there haven't been any credible rumors about Finn being related to anyone at all. Nothing in the plot synopsis that MakingStarWars has provided even points to be it being an element of the story.

Now unless they turn around in Ep VIII and make him Lando or Zare Leonis's kid or something, it doesn't seem like it will be relevant.

No, you're defending his post, and also misrepresenting it as a source. He's not a source. You confused random speculation on reddit for a rumor. The two are not the same thing.

The idea that Han & Leia have split in the interim is an interesting idea, sure. The idea that Finn is Lando and Leia's love-child isn't a rumor, it's speculation. Speculation that doesn't seem to take into account the question "Why would Leia and Lando's love-child be a stormtrooper?"

In one of the magazine articles about Ep VII (I think) they mentioned that Ford was acting grumpy style but JJ didn't allow it and made him act more lively, and it apparently lit a fire under his ass to try harder.
That's actually pretty awesome and great to hear. It's about time someone confronted and got on him about that. Makes me more excited for Episode VII.

lol "grumpy style".

To be fair, they are all rather cookie cutter sort of photoshopped actor posters and pail in comparison to literally every Star Wars theatrical poster ever released. Struzan otherwise.

:snort:

There is no way anyone can say they are decent compared to:

I would be shocked if Lucasfilm goes for the cheap cookie cutter style of Marvel posters.

The only thing you've really done here is remind me of how much better the original theatrical posters for the trilogy were. Struzan's SE and prequel posters don't do much for me, to be honest.
