Star Wars Rogue One - rumored plot synopsis? Comparisons to Oppenheimer...

I'm probably in the minority, but I really want a Qui Gon movie.

He's supposed to be this jedi who is constantly teetering on the edge of both the light and dark sides (hence why he's not on the jedi council), but Lucas did shit all to convey that.

This is just not true, some people will go to crazy lengths to have a pop at GL. Qui-Gon is not on the council because he doesn't agree with their methods and rules. It has nothing to do with the dark side, he's one of the most selfless characters in the saga.

A Qui-Gon movie would be fucking great though.

Rendar was always terrible but Katarn can be salvaged.

I liked Kyle when he was an ex imperial running missions for the rebellion.

Then they did the whole "oh by the way he has the force" thing so that they could do lightsaber combat it ruined it.

Then in JK2 you had to for some reason learn how to be a Jedi again.

The JK games would have been better if it was another character.

Nah

I really hope they don't stick strictly to the no force users thing. I'm all for leaving any Jedi out of this, but Vader seems like a natural inclusion in this situation. Hopefully they're just being sly and hoping to keep it a surprise, because that would be a huge wasted opportunity to leave him out. He's clearly after these stolen plans, we already know this. It's the first thing we ever learned about Vader.

The events of Jedi Knight 2 ruined it? That's one of the most beloved games in the entire franchise, you're in the minority there.

The reasons why he gave up the force and then had to reconnect with it are covered extensively in Mysteries of the Sith and JK2. Adding 'for some reason' isn't exactly a great criticism. It's hardly the fault of the game that you weren't paying attention.

He would have to be recast. It is impossible for Neeson to play him pre-Phantom Menance.

A movie about Dooku and padawan Qui-Gon would be great but I doubt they'd ever do it. Maybe one day we can get a book though.

Ahh my bad, I thought all Gray Jedi's were on the brink between light and dark, hence 'Gray.' It seems a Gray Jedi is also anyone who frequently disagrees with the council.

He is the only one that is about the will of the force instead of the will of the people (senate) which the Jedi Council thinks is the right thing, yet because a sith controls it, it becomes the will of the sith, which is why there's no balance to the force...

GL is a genius.

Didn't say it wasn't a great game, its one of my favorite games of all time. I said I didn't like him suddenly discovering he has force powers well into adulthood because they wanted to put lightsabers in the game. I would have rather they made the JK games about a new character and kept doing Dark Forces FPS games

I'd take either at this point tbh

The whole Gray Jedi thing was a bit of a retcon mess IIRC, I don't think any such title really applied to Qui-Gon, it certainly doesn't anymore anyway.

i Always wanted a movie/ Tv series that focuses on the Empire, how there were supporters all over the place, how was Palpatine and Vader viewed in the general population, civilian life, etc. something removed from the skywalkers or Jedis that shows the change in the Galactic Order, we know the Empire was not always truly "Evil"

Lucasarts is dead and Raven is making Chinese COD MMOs. You'll take your Battlefront and like it!

This pains me. I actually quite like Battlefront, but I would kill for another FPS campaign. I hope DICE just outsource it next time.

Liam Neeson had this amazing run of playing grizzled mentors going from Star Wars to Kingdom of Heaven to the guy who trained Batman

-Episode 1 had the attack on the control ship, but it was intercut with 3 other battles and was quite short.

-Episode 2 just had the 1v1 between Obi-Wan and Jango, and was also quite short.

-Episode 3's opening was fucking great, but it's a chase that takes place during a battle.

-Episode 7 had some decent X-Wing V TIE Fighter action, but again it was quite short and not really the focus

There has been nothing really like the Battle of Endor since RotJ. I want a big fuck-off battle with scores of capitol ships and hundreds of fighters going at it. Since this film is likely ending in a huge battle sequence, I'd say were finally gonna get one.

Battle of Endor wasn't as long as you remember it to be and it was intercut between the Emperor's throne room and the battle on the moon of Endor. The stuff in Episode 1 and 3 are about on par with the amount of space battle content.

I'm not strictly speaking about screentime, I know exactly how long it was, but it was a major battle and we were seeing the direct consequences of it. The build up and tension leading up to it is also a huge part. The only one that comes close is Episode 1 and it pales in comparison. Like I said, Episode 3 was fucking great, but the actual battle was of no consequence, we had no idea what was going on.

What? I think you're putting way too much weight on the Battle of Endor's space battle. Hell The space battle over Yavin was more meaningful. I honestly don't see the Battle of Endor to be that much different than Episode 1's or 3's. All three are huge space battles.

Also, what again? It said what was going on in the opening crawl:

In a stunning move, the
fiendish droid leader, General
Grievous, has swept into the
Republic capital and kidnapped
Chancellor Palpatine, leader of
the Galactic Senate.

As the Separatist Droid Army
attempts to flee the besieged
capital with their valuable
hostage, two Jedi Knights lead a
desperate mission to rescue the
captive Chancellor....

Also I think the scale was way bigger with capital ships blowing up capital ships which really gives more weight to the battle where as in Battle of Endor, it was all one manned space ships doing the fighting.

I feel I need to post this here as well for posterity.
Quote me in a year again when it is confirmed that Felicity Jones' character is Reys' mother. I've already listed my reasons for believing this to be the case, so I'm not going to do that again.

Palpatine was captured by the seperatists he told to capture him.

idk the context of what you're saying lol
Marktitron didn knew the context of the space battle from ROTS but it was perfectly clear, I just told him.
And I am aware that it was set up, its just what the opening crawl said.
