They are going back to the original star wars movies for these and they are showing it with the posters

The blade doesn't emanate from the guard, the guard covers the blade to protect the hand of the wielder. If another lightsaber cuts through the guard, it will still be stopped by the blade internally.

They do kind of resemble the special editions/prequels stuff. I just don't think anybody can pull off 70s/80s style movie posters any more.

I dunno. Several variants of the posters for Birdman and Inherent Vice were amazing and very old-school.

I agree that big budget films rarely want to risk it though and will shoot for the lowest common denominator. The new Godzilla posters are really good though.

Holy shit, Kylo looks exactly like Revan from KOTOR . Auto win right there. Looks so badass.

I hope Disney can get us to 'like' this villain more than the main hero, that would be a big win in my eyes.

I get why this had a spoiler warning but are people really that spoiler sensitive that they need a warning when there is nothing hardly shown about the movie in the only teaser they've shown?

I mean technically we've already seen the Sith in the trailer and the lightsaber, stormtrooper stuff is already known, it's all almost guaranteed to be all included in future promo art and trailers so what would you even expect if you wanted to click on this thread but didn't want to be spoiled?

Maybe this has already been mentioned, but what I like about the Kylo Ren design is that it takes a little something from all the Sith we've seen in the films. There's a pattern on the face like Maul, which reminds me of Sidious with the brow ridge. A mask like Vader. The outfit is like a mix of Vader and Tyranus.
