Her new portrait actually looks closer to the Brood War box art now.I thought Kerrigan had braided hair. I guess they had to make her look like SC2 design.
The original High Templar though...
The new one looks like a modern MK Scorpion.
The Protoss advisor looks nothing like the original...
Of course they all look good technically, but I think something was lost in the Protoss redesigns. It's not a big deal, and I'll still buy it, I just expected something moreThey all look good.
Can't believe some of the whining in here. Talk about nitpicking.
Man they whitewashed the medic.
Nah I just overthink/overanalyze things. It's an issue that I have to work on.
Remastered is not free and releases on the 14th of August.Wait, are these going to be patched into the free remastered ones now? I thought SC Remastered was out and downloadable for free, but does this mean they're making changes?

OG StarCraft is free.

EDIT: Huh, it comes out this month. Okay, so why did I think they released a free version? Or did they without the different portraits?
The original character portrait always looked terrible. Sarah looks much better in the new one.
For comparison, here's StarCraft 2's flashback scene when Kerrigan was left to die because of Mengsk.

Yes it's from StarCraft 2. No it's not from the end of the third expansion. And I'm sorry they decided to "Anakin" Sarah Kerrigan.
Okay fine you can call it a retcon. But it's from Blizzard themselves. Plus it aligns more from the official books said also.I personally preferred a flawed character design that fitted well with Starcraft 1's grimy and gritty aesthetic. In SC2 and beyond, Blizzard turned the design into a polished white babe in a spandex suit and a ponytail.
Like so many other SC2 things, this is just a retcon than how she was represented in SC1.

And that's not speaking of the narrative dump they/Metzen took on her established character by turning her into a damsel in distress.

The originals are better, the new ones are more bland, more better looking, less dark(maybe for clarity?) and the winking girls are almost offensive.

They winked in the original too though.
They don't show the full animation in the video. Just enough to show a difference. All characters do more than just what the video showed.I don't remember these little details in the game, but in the terran video the medic and the valkyrie do the same animations but they wink only in the new version.
Definitely prefer Kerrigan from the cover over the game portraitHer new portrait actually looks closer to the Brood War box art now.![]()
Her old portrait actually seems weird looking back since it doesn't fall in line with the official art

Too bad all the other named characters look similar to their SC2 counterparts except Raynor.I thought Kerrigan had braided hair. I guess they had to make her look like SC2 design.

Gosh, I love that Terran theme music.
Uh, nope, just don't mistake human Kerrigan with zerg infested Kerrigan. Her old portrait actually seems weird looking back since it doesn't fall in line with the official art
Eff me then...20yrs man, 20yrs.
I get it. I'm with you. Even though I knew she wasn't black, I did feel that they were trying to go for some racial ambiguity.

You can't look at me with a straight face and tell me that they weren't trying for racial ambiguity if not also appropriation with Kerrigan's modeling.
