Startup founder gets Cloud Buster Sword Tattoo.

Not that bad honestly. I've seen worse lol.

He blogged about it:

The idea, at a top-level, was to have a photorealistic version of the sword around the hilt and then move down the blade to more of an "incomplete" image, more of a sketch if you will.

I'm very much in love with the idea of things (and people) being "in process" and never fully complete. I think, as I grow as an individual and as a person, I am constantly reminded of how far I've come but how much farther I still have to go.

This is why my High School Yearbook quote was simple this: Kaizen.

Would you consider getting a gaming inspired tattoo? I liked Jin Kazama's back in the day when Tekken 3 was hot stuff, but that's been done to death by now lol.

I thought of getting a Tsubaki MkII on my forearm, yet I got the star from the Santa Destroy flag on my wrist.

... it's on his thigh. Not sure if you're serious but by the time a lady saw it she'd be on board already.

Not to mention that tattoos don't even carry a sliver of the stigma that they did even a decade ago... Unless you're just one of those insufferable types that has to push your opinions on people. Which judging by both comments of the person you're quoting may just be the case.

The whole thread will be like that, as you can see.

Cool for him. It's his body and he can have what the fuck he wants on it.

Exactly, as someone 80% covered in tattoos nothing neck up, I am for the most part very happy with how the ignorance and stigma has died down. Seems like a majority of people socially evolved.

But some people are still super silly, it is always funny when you find younger people who are repulsed by it, or even in my case when my gay uncles whom I have always respected and been happy for their lifestyle choice would speak of my tattoos in the same way a homophobe or straight up bigot would describe their choice in life which always baffled the shit out of me, even they have gotten better over the years. They actually really liked my hands when I got both of them done, which is one of the points of no return for tattoos.

That's because your uncles' sexuality is not a lifestyle choice.

I think he's mostly implying this tattoo specifically is kinda lame, though, not that there is anything wrong with tattoos in general.

But he's wrong about tribal tattoos. They are so much worse than this... Tribals are to tattoos what the 3Ninjas movies are to film. Utterly ridiculous and completely worthless unless you're purposefully enjoying them for the camp factor.

Looks really good to me, and the inspiration behind it is nice.

Would I personally get a video game tattoo? Probably not. I can't think of anything I'd ever want.

That's because your uncles' sexuality is not a lifestyle choice.

Don't even try to rope me into something like this for one it has no business in this thread. and for two you have absolutely 0 knowledge of my uncles relationship when you make the statement you are. I am perfectly fine for whatever way any person chooses to be, but sexuality and how you come to discover it or find it is not cut and try.

Both my biological uncle and his partner came into homosexuality in a very strange way and that is their words not mine. Both were married with children, and became friends while working together. Never once before or during their friendship was the notion of being homosexual ever a thing for either of them, and after a few years both of their marriages ended for different reasons and they decided to give up the whole women thing and started dating and became a couple. 40+ years later married, still in contact with their kids, and completely awesome but the Tattoo thing always made me laugh ironically.

I always wanted Faith's sleeve from Mirror's Edge. It looks really cool, and you could totally play it off as just a cool design than something gaming inspired.

You still don't get it.

Don't get me wrong I wasn't at all trying to imply that you had a problem with it. What i'm pointing out is that getting tattoos is a choice, like wearing your hair a certain way, or dressing a certain way. It's part of a lifestyle/fashion decision. It's not for everyone. And that's okay.

Er.. you might want to read up more on homosexuality and bisexuality before flipping your lid boo.

I guess not as a man in my 30's who has no issue with how anyone lives their lives and never has, I do not know what the correct terminology is apparently? I mean I've heard them use those terms themselves. But I do know that in this day in age the wrong term can paint you as the worst person regardless of your actual feelings and beliefs.

I was just simply stating that I always found it very ironic how two people that are homosexual whom fought for the right to marry, and equality and live their lives the way they want too would be closed minded about something as silly as tattoos. I sincerely hope that their is no offensive terminology used in this paragraph if their is that is sincerely just my age and ignorance for what may be the proper words to use.

I get what you are saying, and I don't think you are being malicious, I just don't think it's a fair comparison. It's okay for someone to not be into tattoos, and not think someone should get one. Being gay is not up for debate in that same way. That's all.

The term "Lifestyle Choice" has been used to demean and ridicule LGBTQ people and the general community for decades. It's a term that is used to strip validity from the very idea of a homosexual relationship.

On topic: Actually, that tattoo doesn't look half bad.

The whole thread will be like that, as you can see.

Cool for him. It's his body and he can have what the fuck he wants on it.

either it's a thread to talk about the guy's tattoo or it's not a thread at all. obviously anyone can make any choice they want for any reason and it's their body. okay, now what?

You are not offending. But comparing sexuality to having tattoos is ridiculous.

And sexuality is not a choice or a phase. Society and culture can certainly make it difficult to find yourself of course.

I honestly really don't see me ever getting a tattoo. To me they're a novelty. I'd get some "oh cool" and maybe tell a few people about it if they ask but in the end it'd just be something marked on me.

If I got one though, maybe bubblegum monkey from Earthbound. Lol
