So Capcom ignores the Wii again?

I'm shocked I tell you. Absolutely shocked!

is this sarcasm? i cant even think of 1 wii title that comes 1/2 way close to looking as good as SFIV. not talking art style. talking the sheer amount of effects and polys. BTW anyone notice how much better Ryu looks now? NICE!

SAN MATEO, CA – May 28, 2008 – Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that the first television commercial for Street Fighter® IV will debut during the CBS EliteXC Saturday Night Fights mixed martial arts (MMA) event. The EliteXC bout takes place on CBS on Saturday, May 31 at 9 PM EST. Immediately following the bout, the Street Fighter IV trailer will debut on the newly redesigned StreetFighter.com, along with the first chance for gamers to preorder Street Fighter IV for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) computer entertainment system exclusively through GamesStop.

Viewers tuning in to catch the first MMA fight to ever air on US broadcast television featuring internet phenomenon Kimbo Slice battling British fighter James “The Colossus” Thompson, will be treated to the network premiere of a 60 second Street Fighter IV trailer and 30 second Street Fighter IV television spots, which feature a combination of stylized CG animation and game play, ending with a call to action that will drive viewers to the newly designed StreetFighter.com website.

On the website, players will be able to watch the new “artistic” trailer, featuring a stylized brawl between Street Fighter favorite Guile and new character Abel along with several other Street Fighter IV trailers and then immediately pre-order the Xbox 360 or PS3 version of the game from GameStop. Fans who pre-order Street Fighter IV will receive a limited edition collectable Street Fighter Tribute artbook, illustrated by top artists from the comic book and video game industries. A countdown currently running on the website tracks the time remaining until the new trailer unlocks.

Capcom ported RE4 to cell phones. That isn't the issue at all.

Either way im playin it (on the 2nd most capable platform after arcades) so im good.

So coming to PS3/X360/PC this winter is confirmed and official?

Can we expect PC to be released along with the console versions or come later ala DMC4?

cell phones have more than 3 buttons. how would you play a serious fighter like this with the wiimote? so you have a graphics issue, a controller issue and likely a userbase issue as well.

See that: http://wireless.ign.com/articles/874/874550p1.html

Capcom already made a couple of real Street Fighter games in mobile phones. And I can confirm you SFIV will be ported to mobile phones. And not to Wii (a toned down version would be too crappy to fit it in a Wii, problems with controller, totally out of the target user, etc).

Good question. Lost Planet PC came out later than the 360 version as well.

I hope the PC version has cross-platform online play. I'll show those console fanboys my keyboard hadokits!
:D At least we know that you're actually joking. Some of the others in here just embarrassed themselves. >_<

You totally encapsulated why PC fighting games can potentially suck.

Wrong, macros wont save anyone unless your playing a god awful player. Nothing beats playing with a stick.

Classic Controller and Hori Stick? Besides plenty of fighters are being released on the VC. Against "target" my foot.

Not saying that it SHOULD be done, just saying that it could be done, and would probably sell a decent amount.

I don't get all the "LOL PC" comments on here. I play Third Strike on my computer and it feels extremely smoothed. Maybe even more so than it would on the consoles.

Wasn't 3rd Strike made available on Gametap at some point? I'm sure I remember that news a while back, although i don't know if it went ahead or not..

What's wrong with playing it on an emulator?

Also I play a plenty of fighting games on my pc. Melty Blood, Touhou 7.5/10.5, etc. Back during the DOS era pc fighting games were plentiful. Don't even mention a keyboard. Why is it so hard for people to wrap their heads around buying a pc gamepad or arcade stick?

Emulators aren't wrong. ROMs are. Especially now that GameTap is an official emulator and Capcom has a retail version of the ROM on GameTap.

But I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt and assume he was playing the GameTap/Dreamcast version. :P

And plus if you own the game, aren't you allowed to download the roms?

If you are in the US, no. You can dump your own rom yourself and have that be legal that way, but you can't download it off the internet.

I didn't pirate any of them...

You CAN play legally purchased games on emulators you know.
Well that's more like the exception to the rule than the standart. Anyway maybe the guy was banned by other stuff.

Yeah, I'm not denying that. I'm just saying that there are a lot of fighting games out there on PC, you just have to look for them these days. It's not a ridiculous notion at all. I like that they're giving people the option. Besides, Capcom's recent engines have all been designed with the PC in mind, so there is no reason for them not to put it out there and make a few extra bucks.

However I still think it's pretty lame to assume someone is a pirate just because it's the more likely.

So stuff like GGPO isn't legal if you own a legit copy of the game? I was unaware...

Regardless, I'm still super excited about this game. Can't wait for the arcade stick to be revealed, too!
