Street Fighter V Beta Thread: Welcome, future '16ers! (Currently Inactive!)

Some how many of you guys are like me and have never played Street Fighter or really any other fighting game? I'm only semi-decent at Mortal Kombat. Can't wait to get stomped ^_^

Time to order some pizza to celebrate the beta.

While I'll most likely get my ass kicked due to the lack of an arcade stick, I guess it'll be good to get my pad game up. Hopefully I either have enough money for a TE2 by Phase 2 or Capcom adds PS3 stick compatibility by Phase 2.

I got my boy QuentinIsTopTier coaching, but I give him the proper credit. RECOGNIZE
Oh shit haha nice, Q is a beast though from what I remember.
Still, don't forget to bring a fresh body bag when you hop online just in case. xp

If y'all catch enzogtr in the random matchmaking

Ken isn't in beta so no flowchart to go off of....... Call the ambulance class 5 burn over here.

I'm so terrible lol

I burned the free ps+ trial years ago, and don't want to use one of my 90-day cards here- anyone know of any external places to get a free trial code?

I haven't played a fighting game in over a decade. I played a ton SF, MK and Tekken back in golden days of fighting games. I expect to get destroyed tonight!

Yeah this is a great jumping on point for new SF players. It always is when a new game comes around, and everyone is learning it for the first time. Believe it or not, you may even have an advantage by not having muscle memory or habits from SFIV carrying over into SFV. The hardcore community loves new players as well, not because they get easy wins but more people are playing the game and that's healthy for it's future, especially when those people stick with it and get better.

Don't be scared, fighting games aren't as intimidating as they may seem, and SFV makes a lot of very smart changes to ensure that. There will always be a ton of people to help you here if you have questions as well.

Haha, ugh, deep down I kind of dread this. I'll be on a strict rotation every match of all the characters to avoid stagnation. May drop Ryu all together if this turns into a nonstop Shoto orgy

It'll be ryu fest at first but most likely mix out afterwards only so many times you can try out ryu in a limited beta without trying other characters. I'm excited to try out Nash if he is straight up rushdown now like so many videos show.

hOPE to see some streams still going for the next 12 hours. I got to do some over time at work and it being a slow day want to see more of SF5 =3

Well said!
New players please stick to it cause once you get more comfortable with everything, even losing becomes more fun. I know this from first hand experience lol.
