Street Fighter V Beta Thread: Welcome, future '16ers! (Currently Inactive!)

I'm pretty sure that it was Gill and the Illuminati. He has that gem on his forehead like Gill and Urien.
We already know this. It was Gill/Urien who brought back Charlie, to kill Dictator.

Well jeez I didn't.

I still wonder though if they're going to be the main antagonists this time, I mean it seems a sure thing they'll be in the game but it feels like there's another main antagonist.

Thanks for this! Appreciate the work.

If you would have said things earlier, I could have gotten those two missing from Birdie.

Man, looking for some of those was really frustrating. The ones I don't have are rare matchups to begin with, and every time I found a video that could have been used, it cuts off right after the last KO.

I wasn't getting on you. Lol

I'm sure they're going to be the main antagonists, but we still don't know what Necalli is all about. Nor do we know what roles the three other new characters will be playing in, so it's hard to say.

Yeah, I was actually searching after you linked the site you made. So a bunch of videos that cut off at the end.

Extremely defensive and dull. Free reversals for most of the cast.

Anyway and regarding the people asking, Ultra is indeed a good preparation for V. No matter how better game V might end up being.
Ultra has a huge roaster, fantastic features like fight request, replay channel, online training, challenges, Omega etc... and for novice players, the more they play online, deal with pressure, losing etc the better they will prepare for online V.... Or any other fighting game actually.

People should totally start playing a game with incinvible backdashes, delayed wakeup, tons of hard knockdowns, fadcs, hella links for combos, strong vortex game in preparation for a game with none of that.

Or they can play 3s and Alpha for something more similar to what we have in SF5.

Yun is fine in USF4 balance wise. He gets overblown for how powerful he is. He was OP in Vanilla AE and was top 2 in USF4 vanilla. Now he's like top 5ish? DeeJay sucks though, but who cares about him anyway.

Yeah your kinda proving my point. They don't know what to do with balancing characters and claim to listen to "feedback".They could have done more to buff underdeveloped characters but they didn't.

I love the way Nash is now. Haven't been drawn to the way a character plays and is animated this much in a fighting game in a long time. The way they animated him to push up his glasses at the start of his critical art is so cool.

In all honesty though, it's great that they didn't count this recent beta test as the first. Next time they begin it'll be fully working, hopefully, with the characters that we were able to try out in the first place.

We now how the online feels from that moment, it'll only get better next time I'm sure.

An Xbox controller.

I really don't know of one.
lol no I mean one with analogs not symmetrical. I keep hitting the ps button and its just a weird feeling. Im gonna google though.

Your point is a whole lot of nothing. Characters being stronger than others is an inevitability.

Fact of the matter is that Yun, despite being the devil incarnate in your eyes, isn't dominating anything.

2015 Evo was fairly well-represented character wise for USF4 and UMVC.

To flat-out claim devs don't know what they are doing shows lack of respect for the difficulty of the task.

Practicing links in Omega mode is not a bad idea for a beginner, they have basically the same timing.

It's just another way to separate characters' playstyles. There's only so many things you can do with directional inputs. Not sure what you mean by casual filter.
You have to charge a move for a set amount of time instead of simply performing a motion right? Comboing into charge specials is quite difficult from my experience as a casual player.

Definitely better than SF4 so far, but they still managed to get a horrid tier training stage music.
WHY?

If only Capcom could get with the times and let us pick whatever song we want for training. I know I was on Gluttony Fang any time I trained in BBCS.

Although, I still like SFV's training music better than IV's, which sounded like someone just altered the pitch of a few farts and strung them together for the "melody".

That's correct. It's one of those things that I think varies a lot from person to person, especially if someone's actually new to fighting games completely and has no prior fighting game context. For some people a motion like F,D,DF + P is much more of a barrier than understanding charge times.

Honestly, I find charge characters in Street Fighter titles very hard to play, if only because their charge time is so long. I wish everything had Parasoul's charge time... I always think "a ha, I have just gotten enough charge time!", and then I don't. :-P

From the time I got with the beta it seemed like the charge time on special moves had been significantly reduced.

It's definitely a little long, even Bison in SF5. People said at E3 that it was noticeably shorter than SF4, but I didn't really feel it much. I wish it was 1 second, personally.

most charges are under a secon in SFIV frame wise. bison's scissor kick in SFIV is 55 frames

Nah, very small reduction, if any.

Yeah. Have you played Skullgirls?

That fireball is a charge attack. Enjoy the boob jiggle, too.

This is what Street Fighter V needs for charge time.

No way. That goes against the ancient art of counting to 2 in my head.

Not really. I either do it too early and get a normal or do it too late and the opponent blocks it.

Try practicing the move itself until you can get it 20 times in a row without fail. I don't know the exact charge time, so for consistency, just count to two while holding the first direction, then perform the rest of the move.

DAMN NEW PAGE. THE SERVERS ARE DOWN. NO-ONE KNOWS WHEN THEY WILL BE BACK. NOT EVEN HASNEY. SHOCKING I KNOW. WE'LL GET A FULL 5 DAYS IN THE FUTURE AND IN-GAME ITEMS THOUGH. SHINY SHINY. IBUKI NOT ANNOUNCED YET. HOPEFULLY ONE DAY I'M SURE EVERYONE AGREES.

The beta supposedly starts again at 6 am EST going by what I see in this topic.

Nah, that's people taking the piss out of people asking about the beta status when it's in the OP and on the same page as they're replying to.
