Street Fighter V Beta Thread: Welcome, future '16ers! (Currently Inactive!)

Since it's still the old build and all I probably won't play that much the next 5 days. I've already played a lot and I don't want to burn out on it especially if the second test will have the updated gameplay and new characters added.

I got a passive aggressive rage mail from someone asking "why are you jumping at me? Lol"


Because I'm going for stun and your characters ground game is strong? So I can fuck up your charge? Why can't you simply beat me with anti airs if I'm winning just by jumping ?

Every time I pick Ryu I start winning so it's hard to want to get good with other characters when I don't get enough training time :(

Pretty much. Trying other characters in the beta is a real bad spot. It's clear everyone is just focusing on one and just going full bore online. Pretty disappointing.

The FGC in general has a problem as well (with VF online being a rare exception), where if there's a huge skill gap, they just try to run up the score.
 
Are people getting frequent matches? The other night during the stress test I was at a buddy's house and we weren't getting many.
 
Wow, I'm quickly improving and my insane reaction are seemingly coming back from my late alpha days. I'm hit confirming into the super in every possible way with Ryu it seems. :p I'm on a winning streak and will take a pause for now to focus on finishing Uncharted 2.
 
I was getting way more matches in the stress test. It takes like 15 minutes to get one tonight...kind of annoying but whatever.
 
People who think Chun's V-skill sucks should try using it when the opponent is in the corner. The mix-ups are pretty crazy. Depending on your height, you can land in front of behind the opponent with jump MK. You can also throw stomps in there to make sure they don't just run out.

Also goddamn I love how the music cuts out when you're about to get a KO with a super. PAFECTO PSYCHO CUHHHRRUUUSSHAAAAA

edit: just had a double KO with two Bisons stomping each other midair. Oh god still laughing
 
People who think Chun's V-skill sucks should try using it when the opponent is in the corner. The mix-ups are pretty crazy. Depending on your height, you can land in front of behind the opponent with jump MK. You can also throw stomps in there to make sure they don't just run out.
You can use the stomps to hit then in front with the forst one then time the second to stay on the same side or cross up and do the same again with the standard jump mk with the v-skill. It's slow but against someone with bad anti-airs it can be useful. I've only used it once in match so far.

You can also do it at the space that j.MK would cross-up and do a late air LK.Legs that won't cross up and then link into cr.LP xx Super. :D
 
Getting in and getting matches is no longer a problem at all. Glad to see they really cranked down on thise problems.

But the lag is still FIERCE at times. It's sometimes much better than SFIV, but also somes much worse. I hope that this is really were they concentrate their efforts on fixing now throughout these betas.
 
I got 90% of those recorded two nights ago. Then...it turns out Sony Vegas Pro can't open .flv files. -_- Trying to work out the issues.

The only combos I really couldn't do were the kara lightning legs ones - not sure what you mean by kara lightning legs.

You B.HP > kara (with f.mp) LK lightning legs > and it brings you forward enough to get the cr.lp aftwerwards.

edit: must clarify that you can't cancel moves into kara moves, they have to be linked. So you gotta link it after b.hp.
