Because that's not how it works in real world conditions. On launch day everyone is gonna be shoving discs in to their consoles and hitting the play button on steam at the same time.

Same reason people spend money on sports channels and the like, it provides entertainment.

Especially streamers who get access to games average folk can't. If it were 5 years ago, let alone 10, unless you were in the press you wouldn't see the game unless it had a demo on a demo. Now anyone can see the latest game coming out just by logging online.
